    Excellent video, great to watch, thank you. Great catch at the end, really nice

  • @kenkingsflyingmachines2382

    I have a plane and radio all ready to do this with, but I've been sitting on the project for about 3 years. Your experience is inspirational! Great job and thanks for posting.

      Thank you very much for the comment. The first recordings for this video were made 7 months ago. Sometimes it just takes time...

    Love your rudder control fitted to your free flight model. Beautiful countryside.

    Thank you for sharing the video. The structure of the front end was helpful.

    Should be able to get the weight down to around 6g - 8g extra with that radio.

    SUPERB!!!😀
    Very Cool video again! 😎
    Rc system nicely fitted... Couldn't you build a "full" rc control system ( with elevator control I mean) instead of keeping the DT? 🤔🤓
    I wish I had one just like this too! 🙄🤗
    Great work anyway!!!😉

    • @rubberfly
      @rubberfly  Před rokem

      Thank you! The reasons that I prefer the DT: One servo less, widely used in free flight, spectacular spot landings possible and the flight altitude is determined by the decreasing rubber force.

    If you go to the j&h aerospace site they have some rather good free flight folding propellers. I bought several for my RC conversions.

    • @rubberfly
      @rubberfly  Před rokem

      Thank you for pointing this out. However, I like the big windmill propellers on this vintage one, even if the performance is a little worse.😃

  • @jimbo2629
    @jimbo2629 Před rokem

    Great stuff. I find undercarriages a pain. You could improve performance by leaving it off. Landings are safer with dt as there is no forward movement of the plane.

      Thank you for your comment. You are right but a launch with the wheels on the table or floor is always a special thrill....

  • @funscalemodels9782

    Very nicely done, and the weight gain was minimal. Do you plan on modifying other FF models?

    • @rubberfly
      @rubberfly  Před rokem

      Thank you! It is not planned, but I have already made this conversion as a learning process to perhaps equip a wakefield with a rudder. I can only fly large models like the Golden Eagle on very few days....

      Yes, his channel motivated me to start this hobby years ago! He is also mentioned in the video description of this video.😄

    Is the DT necessary now that it’s under operator control?

    • @rubberfly
      @rubberfly  Před rokem

      No, I don't have to use the DT, but it's fun to try spot landings!

    • @jimbo2629
      @jimbo2629 Před rokem

      Landings are better with a dt. No forward movement to cause damage.
