Nice to see you showing some Stiegers and Great Plains for a change. I'm sure the John Deere engineers like these videos too because it gives them more ideas to copy.
Case's IH 420 is a beautiful looking tractor. I know allot of farmers tend to gravitate towards Deere, but these Case IH tractors are pretty amazing from a technological point of view. That air drill isn't so bad either.🚜
I agree this Stieger is sharp. When my dad was alive he had a new till Great Plains drill. You could drop that thing down on a asphalt parking lot and it would put seed in.
Another great delivery from BTP, thanks for being there
Same crops here in North Texas. Winter wheat, corn, milo. Also cotton and soybeans.
Like all of your comments about the different types of equipment that makes up today’s farming. It’s all about doing farming the most efficient way. Thanks again 😎
Very informative,good job Jason
Cool Case I H Steiger tractor. The Great Plains planter & interview🚜👍
Me and the boy loved seeing the Case IH Steiger 420!
I do love those seed tenders. I remember when the farmers had to load planters & seed drills by hand. Some seed bags weighed 100 lbs.
Sounds like my last few years of doing stucco - pouring 95lb bags of concrete, mixing in colorants and what not all damn day.
...needless to say, moving on from that one...
@@RyTrapp0 Now that was back-breaking work!
@@SteveHolsten No doubt about that!
I have always enjoyed physical work(in spite of being 5'5", 140lbs - can't get an ounce past that!), but it doesn't take long to realize those sorts of jobs aren't a smart long term plan.
Not that welding is too much easier on the body, but it's less heavy lifting at least! And, I actually enjoy it; what really counts. A better future than throwing around bags of concrete for sure!
Anyway, not to write out my life story or anything lol
Thanks Jason!
Nice setup. Thank you.
I 📝 that it's drilling across the existing drills, taking a different route than the harvested corn.
The muffled appears very large on the outside but doesn't appear that large from the inside.
Great when you can get up in the cab.
A little noisy though btp
Great video. 👍👍
Can you show the field when the wheat comes up?
He probably will when they spray the wheat early next year.
That’s a fantastic tractor is in be pretty smooth and that cabin pretty quiet
Cool, very nice
Is the farm planting a red or white wheat variety? Thanks for your time to bring us your videos so we can enjoy some good farming.
great vid
Often enough I see tractors driving diagonally across a field, i.e. diagonal to a recently harvested crop. Why do they drive diagonally? Does it relate to compaction?
Jack Sak the mechanical blades tend to plug up and drag, creating piles and uneven results. This can happen with coulter and shank machines as well. It’s to eliminate plugging issues.
Great video showing no-tll air drill. Thanks for the video.
Do they increase plant population or is the germination percentage comparable to conventional tillage
Classic case hydraulic whine coming into cab.
o mundo não para hj tudo tem jeito para um plantio bom facio para ganha muito...com o tempo ajundado
They drive diagonally so they get better seed to soil contact. Else the drill would be dropping seed in the same line as the corn rows
Hallo big tractor power, greetings from africa, pls can you explain a bit further what it means by NO TILL AIR DRILL PLS, i will really apeciate your answer pls, be blessed and thanks for another teaching video
No till means the drill can place the seed without tillage being done first. Air drills have a fan that blows air through plastic tubes that carries the seed from the hopper to each planting unit instead of gravity
That's a nice looking outfit
That's a lot of weight stacked in the middle of that toolcarrier for sure ! Thanks for the video !
👍👍👍
Liked, Are 3000 acre fields fairly common in southwestern Kentucky? They are unheard of in upstate SC. I'm sure there are some in the low country.
Do you have a video on how to set the case 2188 up for wheat? If you don’t could you please make one as we are going to harvest our wheat and I would like to know how to set it up.
Whats date of seeding ?
Coming from a non-farmer guy: why at 2:02 it goes diagonally on the field, compared to how the corn was planted ?
Change up the fertilizer patterns/structure of the soil. Planting with disks usually causes some minor form of compaction called sidwall smearing. Changing up the angle reduces the chance that the same area will be compacted year after year. Also with row crops like corn and soybeans, fertilizer is often applied along the same rows as the corn and soybeans so going diagonal helps create a more even application.
@@3.6roentgen61 That's interesting, thanks for the answer.
@@3.6roentgen61 And facilitates seeding, avoiding most of the standing residue!
@@3.6roentgen61 Thank you. I always wondered about that when I drove past fields, too.
@@maxiskritik1039 It's very minimal. Large tires compact much less then small ones. A rowcrop planter would likely compact more then this. The issue with sidewall smearing is that it's in the exact place the crop needs to push through and it's much more densly packed. Sometime requiring up to 300psi to penetrate from the plants.
✌️✌️✌️
HI! CAN YOU MAKE A FULL VIDOE HISTORY TO BACKGROUND ABOUT CASE MAGNUM AND MAXIM EDITION.
If a farmer continues no till over and over doesn’t it eventually choke out the field?
No because the roots from the previous crop decompose leaving holes in the soil.
The thing that will get you eventually on no-till is woody plants or chemical resistant weeds, you'll be working the ground at some point.
@@Zero01k No that's a myth that companies like John Deere tell you so they can sell you another 500+ horsepower tractor and another chisel plow.
No till or zero till is basically a religion here in Australia. It's not hard to find fields that haven't been tilled in 15+ years. It's perfect for conserving moisture in low rainfall areas.
So weird to see all these 4wd tractors with row crop tires. I miss the look of the tillage tires from back in the 70s and 80s.
That said I get that there is a reason for the row crop tires and that these farms need the machine to work, not just look pretty.
But still...
Does the seed grow under this conditions?
It must grow or they would not be using this method on this large of scale.
Sounds very loud inside that tractor.
Nice tractor but i dnt like how they did the design of the exhaust system.
Dude. You cannot notill wheat. Please show it to me when it comes up!!
Pete Switchback they just did
Why is so unsual No-Till planting in USA? Here in Brazil, tillage is almost a crime to the soil x.x
Because farmers in America are stubborn.
High moisture conditions year after year can result in incredibly high numbers of pests, insects etc. an occasion tillage pass can help take care of resistant weeds, insect populations and diseases that harbor in the soil and residue.
