- In this video I walk you through hiking the Sedona Vortex and the Subway Cave. These two are on the Boynton Canyon trail. I didn't go all the way to the end of the trail, but you can certainly do so.
The Vortex and the Subway Cave was just about 9 miles from beginning to end, so if you add the end of Boynton Canyon make sure you are prepared.
- There is no water anywhere on the route
- Verizon has great service
- there are always people around if you need help
- download maps or make sure you have good cell service - maybe do both!
- hiking boots are a must!
- bring lots of water, food and sunscreen
There are a couple of places where you can accidentally get off the trail so watch this video to avoid those.
Definitely a great hike if you're prepared !

That's some pretty country thanks for the video. Changing the subject but did you get any deer draws this year? I have the worst luck again didn't draw anything again I have 10 points and still nothing 😢 have a goodnight.
Thank you!
I didn't draw anything. I didn't expect to. I have 0 points and last year I drew with 0 points and the year before with 2 points.
I'm happy to hunt D7 with a rifle finally.
That sucks that you don't have luck getting the tag you want but you still get your deer so that's something to be proud of !
Thanks for the reply it was good hearing from you take care
Hi, when was this video recorded? I ask because I want to bring my dog on the hike with my but I am not sure if it will be to hot for her. I plan to hike in the morning
This was 3 weeks ago, around June 14,15, something like that.
It wasn't too hot yet, it was in the 80's. If it's in the 90's or higher, it's pretty hot, you would definitely need a lot of water and boots to protect their feet, but maybe not even do it at all, depending on you and the doggie.
The Vortex alone is not very far and doesn't take long, so maybe do it early morning, like 6 am, that would work even if it will be super hot.
