- The wonderful world of hats, hats and more hats! See I said “hats” 3 times because this is the third part to my collection series. Alright, I’m done now. Anyway, these new additions to my collection all came from garage sales or antiques malls ensuring that you can still look dapper on a budget! Enjoy 4 more hats from your old pal!

The best finds! Now you can shape them how you want. That cattleman is a beast. I might throw out the idea of a broad brim with a pencil curl...
I’m thinking Wild Bill from the Deadwood series. That’s style. Telescope crown, pencil curled brim. Easy!
Yeah man!@@SaintAndrewTV
Another excellent episode! I took have been dredging through yard sales, thrift, and estate sales for YEARS..and only recently found a hat that I could use. Why? Because when I was a kid my grandpa called me Buckethead. I have a 7&5/8 hat size. I steamed, cleaned, and molded my 12$ find into a nice 4x pinch crown.
Don't give up hunting! It took me over 15 years to find this one.
Awesome! And I feel your pain on the head size! 7 1/2! And you are so right, it’s extremely to come by! I’m glad you found the hat, friend! And for $12 is a bargain!
Thanks for the hat show!👍 You do have some interesting hats. Thanks for sharing. 👍🤠
I guess my favorite is a Stetson made in 1910 that my great grandfather wore to a Confederate reunion in that year. Complete with yellow cavalry hat cord and his CSA officer's wreath style emblem on the crown front.
Hey there, Wade! I was wondering when you’d be around today! Funny enough, I don’t have a Stetson. Seems like a bit of an oversight on my behalf! Haha
All I can imagine is that it’s similar to the shape of the hat that Josey Wales wore. Or more Hardee style.
❤I never fail to learn a new thing about the West thanks 😊 🙏 pard
Thanks for stopping by! I’m glad I can still teach haha!
Sorry I missed the premiere. That said, I too have quite the collection of hats 🤠 . You can NEVER have too many ! ... ❤️ your collection !! The last one was MY favorite ..😉 Appreciate the share, St. Andrew 😁
I couldn’t agree more! You can never have too many choices! Thank you for the support, friend!
@@SaintAndrewTV Good morning, Andrew 🌞 Have a blessed day, my friend ! 🙏🏼
@@docholliday1970 you as well, Doc! Be safe and nervy on them pistols!
@@SaintAndrewTV Will do , and You the same ... 😉
That first hat is a Stratton Trooper. I have a brown one. Great when wet, cold stuff is falling from the sky.
Thank you so much friend! I couldn’t identify to save my life!
My great grandparents came here from Ireland in the mid 1800's or early 1900's. I think my great grandfather was a share cropper. I saw a picture of him wearing a straw boater hat. I thought it was called a campaign hat. It was white with a band. Not sure if that was a popular hat for the mid 1800's.
Also he lived in NJ. Not sure how much fashion was different than the west back then.
Straw was more prominent in the south with warmer climates, but not out of the question. Straw was also cheaper. Your great grandfather having a straw hat is more that appropriate for that time frame, but maybe not as popular in a northern state.
Cure for the Tuesday blues too.... if you watch this late enough at night XD
lol! Hopefully it has the same affect a day later!
Great video ! I just recently found your channel, and I look forward to watching your videos. Have a great day Sir.
Thank you very much! It warms my heart!
Some great scores there. I will be looking forward to seeing what you do with the Black cowboy hat. I have a very similar one that I got at a local Salvation army thrift store for 20 bucks. Its a made in Canada as am I. Smithbuilt brand from Alberta and is a 5X beaver fur. I am not a fan of the style though. So like I mentioned I will be interested in what you cone up with m
If you’ve seen the Deadwood tv series, the hat Wild Bill wears is what I’m looking at as a model!
Thanks for this. I had to pause and go count my hats from my Cowboy Action days. Nine. That I could find. No derby yet. No top hat, (awesome find btw). Do have a John Bull type similar to Johnny Depps hat in "Deadman". Also a straw type hat reminescent somewhat of the southern Civil War type that I usually used for Cowboy Action events. Keeps the head cool in the southeastern sun. Will there be a care and upkeep video? Best wishes!
9 is a pretty good number! And I have other videos with the other hats in my collection. You might have to gander through those as I’m not too familiar with the John Bull hat. And I’m personally not a fan of straw hats(mainly because I breakout in a rash), but an upkeep and maintenance video would be more than appropriate! Thanks for the suggestion and I appreciate you stopping by!
Thank you sir! Now I can show my wife I am normal!!!!
It’s all perspective! My perspective is I don’t have enough! Haha
Nice collection. You need to add a bowler.
I have one! Just not in this video, but it is in another.
Nice collection buddy
I appreciate it!
Is that first hat by chance a Stratton brand? It appears to be identical to one I was issued in 1987 as a deputy sheriff for uniform. The 2 slots in the side are for a behind the head or under the chin 2 piece leather strap. The center front hole is for application of a screw - on hat badge. Back of the badge has a threaded post with a round threaded nut that screws on to the post to secure the bage to the front of the hat.
It very well could be. The writing is more worn, but if I have a name I’m looking for, I bet I could make it out a little bit more easily. Thanks for the information!
The john bull hat was similar to the top hat you had only the sides flared out to the crown so it was wider at the top, sort of a wedge shape if you get me.
I think I know what you’re talking about. I feel as if I’ve seen them before.
Did you review the Stove Pipe hat yet, have the feeling l saw it somewhere, you did the Derby l believe.
@@biggusdickus5986 I haven’t done the stove pipe yet, but have done the derby. I need to do a couple! I’ve gathered up so many hats in my collection with different shapes, that it could be a hat only video channel at this point! Haha
