"I got the predefinite detective in the world!"
Truly one of the lines of all time. Let's all inbrethiate this moment a little.
I feel like Captain America right now, because I get that reference 😁👍🏼
I appreciate the *reclamation* of your comment. 😁
That is THE infraction point!
Ngl i was so confused when I heard the line. Didn’t think it was strange tho
@@Karen-0 That's 'cos Miles is already set up to be some sort of eccentric genius who sends invitation via puzzle boxes, has weekend breaks on his private island and sterilises his visitors via chemical gun. The film plays with your expectations there. Then when we finally meet him, he's a chill hippie. Just these 2 impressions is enough to set off anyone's brain to sub-consciously interpret anything odd he says as unnecessarily strenuous hyperbole
He got his wish. He is no longer known as a Bond, but the detective of Knives Out and beyond out by a whole new generation.
Even before he got Bond, I knew him from Layer Cake and Munich. Although looking at his IMDB, that was just a drop in the bucket.
Ill always love him most for Munich
I don’t think it matters what he’ll do, he’ll always stay Bond. Most Bond actors did some great movies but they all stayed Bond
Daniel Craig will probably have an aura cast on him by the bond films as "OMG he must be such a reserved serious actor" but he looks like a genuinely hilarious and chill guy
that was a nice hug, they seem to really enjoy each other.
One thing we generally miss talking about Daniel Craig: He is a very good actor.
Logan Lucky was great! Then again I love heist movies.
I went back just to study his little tics as Blanc - the way he gestures, retreats to his pockets, changes focus, has to force out a gasp when he sees a certain character lying dead, it seems effortless coming out of him!
He is so zany/goofy in real life... not at all what you'd expect. Seems to be having a great time, all the time.
Still 🔥 hot! ;)
Well, he IS selling a movie…
he is especially nervous i think ! He has always said that this is not necessarily his comfort zone !
I think he’s just tipsy, like clearly drank beforehand
@@annalopinski4459 Its wild that some of you can't recognize severe anxiety when you see it. lol
Daniel Craig, still in good shape 👌
I found Daniel Craig also particularly spell binding in Road to Perdition. Especially so as he had no problems playing the villain who, on top of everything else, was a quintessential coward, flawed to the point of being really kind of a pathetic weakling - and yet he still pulled it off to make the character engrossing and menacing at the same time. "Why are you laughing?!" "Because it is all so fucking hysterical."
Totally forgot he was in that.
Such an underrated movie. Incredible cast and the cinematography is amongst the best ever. Also, the quote ends with hysterical, not hilarious.
@@airshieldcombo12345 Thank you, allow me to edit and correct!
I liked him in cowboys and aliens.
Loved that movie!!
So happy to see Ed Norton back on screen. I hear that he's hard to work for/with but he's a fantastic actor and I love watching him.
A very underrated actor indeed, while fantastic in everything he stars in. From Fight Club to American History X to Hannibal.
Red Dragon, not Hannibal.
Yes Ed has played some amazing roles over the years. I was sad not to see him in Hollywood productions in more recent times
Technically, he was at the very end of Alita 2019.
Same here mszoomy. Ed Norton is amazing, one of my faves. Loved him in Primal Fear, Fight Club & American History X (wow, what a performance!) & especially Motherless Brooklyn (written, produced AND directed by him). Same with Ethan Hawke I heard, but I love watching him too, in anything. True artists of their craft imo. Can't be loved by everyone all the time ;-) but they should definitely be appreciated for what they bring to the table🙂
This guy is solid in everything he does. Love him!
"It's a living, Stephen" lol that was perfect! They are awesome together. Well, Stephen is amazing with everyone he interviews in my opinion 🙂. LOVED the Knives Out movie and can't wait to see Glass Onion...GREAT cast members in both! Love love love to see Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette & Ed Norton in anything...and Janelle Monae in this one, yes!
Omg I love him ! He is so shy, it's sooo cute i cant 🤭
Absolutely true. Both Knives Out and Glass Onion should be watched more than once to appreciate the clues and red herrings. I can't wait til Dec 23rd!
It's actually in theaters now in a reasonably wide release. I highly suggest you check it out on a big screen!
@@MattAlbie Oh I took the family on opening night, and showed the original to my daughter afterwards. They are both fantastic films, the second is such a romp! 😁😁
They were genuis to do it on Netflix. I rewound and rewound
Hello Greetings from Daniel Craig
@@MattAlbie .....Greetings from Daniel Craig
Not only he is a great actor but the most stylishly dressed and well-spoken actors out there. Blessed with supreme looks too.
Daniel Craig a brilliant actor. Can’t wait for a third sequel of knives out!
Horrison ford with Star Wars & Indiana Jones, Daniel Craig with James Bond & Knives Out, and also Sylvester Stallone with Rambo & Rocky. These people totally great great actors! Amazing
Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was another great movie he did
Agreed. And Rooney Mara should have won an Oscar for Best Actress. Her performance in that movie was very challenging and very demanding for sure.
'DEFIANCE', great film with Mr. Craig & Liev Schreiber playing the Bielsky Bros., and dealing with true history behind Belarusian-Jews as well as anti-Semitism from other Belarus partisans, who were fighting the Nazis during WW2...'Chai', to life!
Yes... excellent movie!
I really like Defiance. Good acting. An interesting true story.
Yay! Daniel Craig! AKA the best Bond.
I love Daniel Craig. I watched Knives Out and it was awesome! Can't wait for Glass Onion! Fantastic actor
Daniel comes off as a really fun person.
never watched a single bond movie in my life, but boy, his benoit blanc is endearing and subtly yet confidently sexy at the very same time. i hope he and rian johnson enjoy a very long and healthy life and create many more of those fabulous movies. best franchise in a looong time.
Watch Casino Royal, Craig's first outing as Bond. It received very good reviews and Craig is hot! Compare that Craig to today's.
Really enjoyed the first film and hope it is a harbinger of more mystery movies in general in the future. ;-)
Glass Onion is a really fantastic film, honestly felt it was better than Knives Out, certainly funnier.
First saw Daniel Craig...in Layer Cake. Been killing it since then. One of the more likeable and talented actors.
Layer Cake was terrific!
He was in cakes layered on top of each other?
@@last7509 yup
Layer Cake is fucking astounding
Can't wait for Knives out 2. Edward Norton is a good addition to the cast.
I love Daniel Craig. I remember him from Our Friends In The North. He was good back then. Now he's amazing
Oh wow! Our Friends in the North was one of the best shows ever with the best cast ever! I'm glad you feel the same!
That was such a tight embrace between Colbert and Craig.
One thing that I find funny is that all the actors who played James Bomd, brosnan, Craig... start to dress like him after they leave the role. They are always in suits or tuxedos in interviews, it's like saying, " later to play Bond, I need to at least dress well, or the public will be surprised”. Nothing against it, I think it's cool😆👍🏻
They have tons of perfect suits made for them for the movies, I guess worth to use
Craig single handedly restarted the grey suit trend with Bond in Casino Royale. He can wear it all he wants.
Bond actors get to keep their suits they wear in their films. They’re custom made for them by expensive designers. Like Tom Ford. They’re basically gifts to the actors.
Well, wearing a suit to a talk show is just normal. Stephen is wearing a suit too. But I do have to say the silvery-gray is kind of a Craig/Bond trademark.
I loved Daniel Craig in "Knives Out" and "Logan Lucky" 😄 seems so much more in his comfort zone than Bond
As a "GoldenEye Era" Bond fan as a kid I was extremely skeptical of Craig when he took over from Brosnan. But he is amazing, he took it to a darker level. Not "better," but darker.
Ian McKellen can be added to the list of actors in double successful franchises - LOTR and X-Men
👍
I know Daniel will probably be remembered most for his role as James Bond, but for me, my favorite performance of his is in the role of the brilliant detective Benoit Blanc. He’s even funnier and wittier in the sequel.
4:44 well, you could name Sylvester Stallone, who also has two successful movie franchises: Rocky and Rambo!
Good point
Probably Arnold, too?
He seems to finds interviews very uncomfortable, despite being a very good actor who feels better with a script.
Most actors do. Interviews are just one giant promotion for the film where the actor has to travel around the world answering the same questions over and over. Most films are done months or even years in advance so for them they’ve already moved on.
The way he asked "Is someone talking?" after he got a drink makes it look like he prefers a different set of manners from perhaps across the pond. Mr. Craig was answering the questions extensively and Colbert cut him off a few times. Daniel then went back into saying the talking points to promote his movies. Colbert appears to have a jagged edge in the way he interviews which I would find offputting and would get mad if I was the one being asked the questions but the audience eats it up.
He seems nervous it's cute!
He's also being asked about Bond a lot and as much as he feels fortunate to have landed that role so many years ago, I think he's wanted to be done with it for a very long time. He had to spend this whole interview finding ways to NOT say bad things about it, when he clearly loves the Knives Out movies more.
Coke
Massive Attack?? Missed you, Louis!
I've often wondered if Rian Johnson considered casting Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc because he's married to Rachel Weisz, who was in Johnson's "The Brothers Bloom," and had spent time with him socially. (Just came back from seeing "Glass Onion" in a movie theatre - DON'T WAIT FOR NETFLIX AT CHRISTMAS.)
Charming, a real gentleman. I wish you never forget to take care of yourself. No alcohol, tobacco or drugs. And away from bad company. Always take good care of yourself. And spend little. Save as much as possible. I wish you all the best in life.
Greetings from Daniel Craig.... it's my pleasure to have you here
Oooo! Fever tree!
And I loved Knives Out!
Great to hear the band doing that song, Saturday Come Slow by Massive Attack < 3
Just watched Glass Onion…GO WATCH IT! It’s good!!….and now I’m on this video. Dare I say, I am more impressed by his Blanc than I am of his Bond?(Don’t come for me, I loved him as Bond). I Love a good detective series and I adore Benoit Blanc and can’t wait for more stories with him…on top of that, Daniel Craig loves a basic cocktail and seems like a jovial dude. So happy for his success.
I LOVE YOUR NEW WORK MORE!
So adorable. Thank you
Glad to see so many positive comments about Daniel, truly one of the greats and court of public opinion says he a terrific guy. Too bad Eddie is on the total opposite end of the spectrum. Not one of my favs and usually skip films with him in it. I think difficult to work with is an understatement and the least of his flaws.
Craig? Norton? I'm there!
Love him. Not Bond fan but I love Knives Out. Theater only...darn. Love Norton.
No, it'll be on Netflix in Dec
Clint Eastwood was in the Sergio Leone’s Dollars Trilogy and the Dirty Harry movies.
I’m gonna say Keanu Reeves with The Matrix trilogy and John Wick series and (lesser so) Hugo Weaving in The Lord of the Rings and The Matrix are also contenders for actors who have anchored two great trilogies.
Don't forget norton on crazy azz movies that all seem the same....
Harrison Ford and the Indiana Jones trilogy before the Crystal skull fiasco? Sigourney Weaver and the Alien franchise in spite of the poor directing choices of the third?
And let us not forget an international sweetheart, Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future. Not disagreeing with your choices though.
@@sevenprovinces well dang.... Aliens being one of my all time favorites... And it skipped my dum brain.... 😭😭😭🤣
@@sevenprovinces also the starship troopers trilogy.... 😂😂😂
@@ontil68 Well, to be fair, there were a total of 4 Alien movies with Sigourney Weaver, and of course 2 more prequals so far. Then those whole, silly Alien vs. Predator spin-offs. It is hardly a trilogy, but the first 3...in spite of the third being a big drop in quality and atmosphere (I still loved it though) are a class of their own.
And yes! It is one of my all-time favorites too, and the first Alien movie is probably in my top 3 of favorite movies of all time.
I admire its purity. ... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality. 👽
Daniel Craig knows how to carry a suit 👍
i really cant escape the beatles , ive been binging them lately and still everywhere in 2022 which is cool
Why would you want to escape The Beatles 🤔 😉
Oh he's so goofy!!! Love him. As Beniot Blanc he's so good. The accent is unexpected and almost silly but it works!
I am still trying to work the phrase "you will find my presence ornemental" in casual conversation lmao
Wow. That'll be funny!
@@WintaAssefa Greetings from Daniel Craig
Greetings from Daniel Craig
Those striking blue eyes, though!
Lol, even in the scene they used to promote the film Edward Norton's Miles is stealing things other said first and "taking credit" for them. I bet there's a dozen other easter eggs in the movie that I missed. Such a great film.
OMG the CAST!!!! can't wait to see it!!!
and that is NOT the RUM talking!!! hehehe
The predefinite detective. LOL!
Shame that crowd didn’t give the credit to how good the “it’s a LIVING Stephen” joke was. 5:53.
Am I the only person who thinks that Edward Norton has gotten better looking as he's aged? I find him to be much more attractive in middle age than as a younger man.
Definitely.
physically yes, but reports that he's quite an ass to work with negate it for me.
Yes you are
Isn't that most men? I looked like a doofus when in my 20's, now at 42 pretty much peaking as far as looks go (those brain and muscle cells are turning to mush though it's not all daisies and sunshine)
Loved it
Man it was a great movie in a unexpected way
It would cost you no time, and no money, to put "part 1" or "part 2" on these videos. If I pick the first video of two, it's the second part of the interview. If I pick the second video of two, it's the second part of the interview. You're not consistent in the way you post the videos, and for some reason, cannot seem to add which part it is in the video description. Thank god I'm the only person on earth running into this problem.
👆
🤔
@@paulccrimmins All I can guess is that they somehow get more clicks/ad revenue by making people search for part 1. It's even worse when it's a big guest and they have 3 parts. I can never seem to guess correctly which video clip is part 1. A frustrating lack of luck on my part. lol
Kimmel stitches both parts into one video. Someone should take note.
I look at how long the videos are. The longer is almost always the first
I can’t wait to see the next star studded cast they bring for the 3rd
It's official. We need a crossover character, Benoit Bond.
I'm a little surprised Stephen didn't say Mission Impossible. Pretty successful.
He's not from Liverpool, he's from Chester, where I am right now, but it is about 20 minutes south of Liverpool. Chester are the bitter local rivals of Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham AFC, so maybe Daniel should join forces with his old theatre buddy, Hugh Jackman, and buy Chester FC. That would be fun
Isn’t he a Liverpool fan though ?
@@barbaracampbell9907 Yes, but Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElheney hadn’t even heard of Wrexham before they bought them. At least Daniel’s a home town boy. And it’s not as if he can buy Liverpool even if they’re going up for sale. Problem is I doubt he has any inclination to buy a football club at all
@@michaeljohn1978 wasn’t asking where he is from but which club he is a fan of
Yes why doesn't ever actor go out and buy a worthless team.
He was born in Chester but free up in Liverpool and Hoylake near me on the Wirral.
Stephen Colbert Daniel Craig Easter egg awesomeness job interview
I always forget how profoundly uncomfortable he is.
Daniel Craig looks so hyper, squirmy and nervous. He might have actually climbed the wall if his pants weren't so tight.
All late night shows should offer their guests alcohol 🎉
Watch Graham Norton 😁
I have but thanks!
Love Graham and thought of him as well. 😜👍
Daniel seemed to be a little (or not so little) excited to be there 😉
I guess it's the effect of the Green Room :-)
I met his parents at Mad Jack's Inn. Lovely people.
Whose parents?
harrison ford also did the Jack Ryan movies
He looks great!
There really should be a Knives Out sequel crossover with a Hotel Splendide sequel with Daniel Craig
Really looking forward to this film, I just hope that clip was a massive red herring.
😉
It sounded like Stephen said “you know him from the James Bond movies: Logan Lucky and Knives Out” like those films were Bond movies haha, he missed the comma and it amuses me
Cheers guys! Lol
I don't know if I remember well... But I think that sometime ago you were not allowed to dink on TV
Just watched Mr. Craig in a ww2 movie in which he leave Rome just before WW2 gets going. He joined a local provincial army brigade and had an amusing time of it as early middle aged man in love with his ex-wife. She is very generous with her cuddles to various men. A Brit version of Your in The Army now. Very versitlie actor
Too tight !
Chris Pratt with Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic Park
My daughter's teacher was at school with Daniel Craig!!! 🤣
he is sooo fkn adorable hahahaha
THAT was a tough interview.
Only half of it
I think it's so cool to use a Massive Attack song as the entrance song.
Thanks! I was just trying to figure out what the tune was. Wonder why they chose this 🤔
@@MikeStJean yes, it's super random and a really weird choice, but i dig it. Saturday comes slow is a banger, tho.
