It made me laugh. As a cat owner I can confirm they do this when a box of any size is lying around.

Lego ideas is definitely my favorite theme. Sets like the Viking village and medieval blacksmith look so good, and then you have random licensed sets like Seinfeld or Sesame Street. There’s just so much variety, it’s a really unique theme.

I would love to see a variation build of it in a "loaf" pose if possible.
Considering the original Ideas submission was a different breed, I can imagine more being released in different colorations and poses if this sells well.

The idea of a lego Tuxedo cat furs made me paws. I thought "you have to be kitten me". But after I got over my negative cat-itude I realized "meow you're talking". And Tiago's video was so purr-suasive I realized - this idea is hiss-terical.
P.S. Someone requested some cat jokes. And as a dad I took up the challenge.

I work at a cat cafe and I love lego. I was hanging out with the owner after work one day and I saw this set being announced. She said “damn it I was gonna surprise you with it”
There's a cat cafe near me, and I've thought about gifting them this set, along with a pack of hexbugs.

Lego Ideas is so random and therefore is the reason why it’s my favorite Lego theme! Want a cat? No problem. Want a typewriter? No problem. Want a treehouse? No problem!!!
Tiago just can't get over that tree set.
I wasn't really sold on the cat until I saw you display it sitting in its box. That's perfect!
They should have also added Green option for the eyes, other than that it looks amazing
I love what Lego is doing with these submit ideas themes. Tiago's commentary was spot on and I will definitely buy this. I run a cat charity so this will be purrfect for my many cats, including my 3 tuxedos - Spot, Peter, and Will.

Those slopes you mentioned not being familiar with debuted in this year's Speed Champions sets. While they're rare now, I expect that like many other past Speed Champions parts they will find all sorts of interesting uses like in this set before long.
I expect this will be a popular set to customize-I myself am hoping that most of those black slopes will be available in dark grey so that I can make it look like my cat Violet.

Besides: Lego heads are my favourite to build. Yoda, Harry Potter and others: they're design inside and outside is always a wow.

I have an extreme urge to pick this set up and customize it to look like my own cat who, while being a tuxedo himself, is quite unique. Though if many of the curves are accomplished with relatively new parts that aren’t very common yet it’ll probably be a while before I can get it to match.
Considering that LEGO has already released two identical Creator sets that are simple colour swaps it’s only fair that this one get the same treatment so that everyone gets the chance to build a replica of their pet.

Just all in all a chill set
Pretty darn cool! Now i'm kinda hoping for a dog model to accompany it. Something like a bulldog might be a very cool build with the wrinkly face and all. A german shepherd would be awesome too.
What a clean looking lego set
Great review. Didn’t really like the cat just from the picture but it actually does look nice. Those two new slopes first released in March speed champions sets.
Really like how this one turned out. Shame to lose the bowl and fishbone, but the build looks spectacular, and fun to assemble. One my favorite Ideas offerings in recent years, and modestly priced too.
It would have been so cool if it could be in a walking stance, but it’s already super great looking! I have too much to buy on June 1st… (Star Wars, City, Ninjago, Notre Dame, Cat, Radio)
100% buying this on release! Already set a reminder a day before. the $100 price point sealed it for me. Was expecting a $180+ but at $100 I'm ready to pull the trigger instantly.

The new wedges are from Speed Champions, which is probably the theme that generates the best new elements each year lately
It looks exactly like my cat 😄 if I put it in my house though, I guess Leo will strike it down with furious vengance 😅
I loved the concept, hated the reveal pics, love the look on review in "real life". I hope they make more colors of the new blocks in the future so I can build more cats

I really like it and I can see how this may have also been the inspiration for the upcoming Simba.
I love silliness of the Tuxedo Cat. The IDEAS theme is perfect for that. I was really hoping that my little yellow tree was picked up for production. I'm happy that some professional LEGO designers took a look at it, but some commentary or feedback would be great.
Definitely going to get this and buy some extra black pieces so I can replicate my tuxedo exactly!
The cat in the box was just the chef's kiss.
The build remind me of how Mighty Bowser is built, especially the limbs. You'd build the upper arm, clip it in, lower arm, clip it in, etc. I agree that it's very satisfying.
The set has the same appeal as the Bonsai tree, and I can see people that normally don't buy Lego sets picking this one up, especially at that $100 price point. There are actual sculptures and decorations that cost more than that.

Those wedge slope elements were introduced in the march speed champions btw, i believe. The 2x2 and 1x4

Honestly, every time I seen this model I hated it. It look like a model I would never have wanted to build. But right off the bat in your video, my option changed. It looked great and looks very interesting to build.

Looks great! The only part that bothers me is that they didn’t even try to give it whiskers on the snout… some antennae pieces or the wolverine claws like rocket raccoon would’ve made it look better imo, luckily it’s a easy fix

I'm pretty sure all those "new" slopes recently debuted in speed champions sets. That line really has been a boon for curvycurvy bits
They need to have recolors in the curved pieces galore! My last cat was a cow cat and I'd love to re-create him in Lego with this set. Looks like I'll have to part out some more white when we get the inventory.
I lost my tuxedo cat that I've had for over 17 years recently so I'll definitely get thus set for a memorial of sorts.

This would make a great tombstone for my beloved cat feather. Who loved and cared for me since infancy. He passed away in March. And this would be a great gesture to do for my wonderful pet
LEGO should give us more cat breeds in different positions, like a ginger cat laying on its side or a maincoon in proper loaf position.
As sad as it might be this will probably not happen as LEGO stated they don't want to make multiple sets with the same theme in IDEAS! But I would be a fan of a set with cats similar to the "Adorable Dogs" in the creator-3-in-1 line...

This set reminds me of Jekca sets. They make alot of these sort of pet sets with dogs and cats.
Out of curiosity, how much does Lego let you create new pieces for sets? Are there certain requirements you have to meet, like saying what other uses they have, etc.?

The build seems similar to the lego year of the tiger set 40491, just scaled up. That one was cool
My best friend's cat died today, his cat looked exactly like the Lego one, and he was planning on buying it, when he referred to this cat he even called it by the name of his cat, im really sad and so is he

I'm pretty sure those 1x4 angle pieces appeared in one of the speed champion sets and I regonise the other slope as well. Though I could be thinking of different kinds of pieces.
I'll be getting it. It looks almost identical to my cat of 15 years.
Goated set
Both the 3*1 and 2*2 slopes curve are already available in the new speed champion like the audi s1 etron and the mclaren 2023 f1

I believe these curvy pieces are used also in the Speed Champion McLaren F1 and I bet they will be used more and more in that subtheme
