Note: I added a 50hz Low cut filter to all recordings as I was getting an inaudible low end (about 30-40hz) spike in the frequency response that was skewing the measurements.

Wow thanks so much, this is just a side project of mine but I’m enjoying it. Not used the P8 - maybe Curtis judd did a video on that…I think, also watch his P4 video from memory I think he thought the pres were different. It’s all down to the inputs / functionality you need. For me I would take better mic pres and clean recording over any fx processing because I do I my editing in the DAW.
I know this is an older video, but thank you for this - I have a MOTU M2 that powers my SM7B, and very happy with it, but was looking at the P4 for its portability when traveling and this makes it clear that the preamps are more than enough. Considering Amazon has 24% off the P4 at the minute, I'm off to make a purchase! :)
Yep it’s really good, very clean right up to about 7/10 on the gain dial, which is usually more than enough for most people. Another small device that impressed me is the Irig Pre HD single channel preamp / interface - it easily powers the SM7B aswell and can connect to an iPhone.
