I just watched this again and T&D's 1983 World Championship Gold Medal performance all 6.0s for Artistic Expression, all 5.9s for Technical Merit. I had tears in my eyes at the similarity in Regan and Karina's performance, and could imagine how Jayne became emotional about it. It was like being transported back in time to that grand night in 1983. Of course, Chris, being the stereotypical Brit had to stay her emotion, but he couldn't stay Regan's. He teared up and pointed to Jayne and said what an honor it was to stand before them and to do a truncated version of one of their greatest routines.
This lovely moment brought tears to my eyes., also because I was remembering Jane and Chris doing this routine years ago. The competitors and the organisers and all those involved in producing this magnificent show have done an excellent and rewarding job and I shall be sad when Dancing on Ice finishes this year.
Agreed. I also remember when Jayne Torvill & Christopher Dean received perfect 6.0's for Barnum and Michael Crawford, and Betty Calloway were ecstatic.
Looking about now, I think Reagan is just as good as Ray Quinn and he got 6 10s and Reagan got 5 10s. I feel on some of the other sakes he was under marked. I feel like he could of got more 10s then he did as he got 10s from week 8 to the final and Ray not on and of 10s from week 4 to the final
