The FCI dog dance world championships 2016 took place in Moscow, Russia from 23 - 26 june 2016. The participants competed in two categories: freestyle and heelwork to music. This routine above was shown in the freestyle final, where only the ten best participants were competing.
Freestyle:
A freestyle routine displays the dog and the handler in a creative, innovative and original way, using music and intricate movements to showcase teamwork, artistry, athleticism and style in interpreting the theme of the music.
Heelwork to music (HTM):
A HTM routine should be done with the dog and the handler in close proximity to each other throughout the routine. On all moves, the dog and handler team should move as one entity throughout the routine, displaying heelwork and creativity in the many positions and behaviors possible in HTM.

Dogs LOVE interacting with their owners! They love this work - it's PLAY for them. As far as they're concerned, the more, the better
I'm an old man now. I got my first puppy, a six week old mutt from the pound, when I was 10, at the beginning of summer vacation.
My two neighborhood pals and I, when our ball team wasn't playing, spent all our time "training" the puppy. We were clueless and totally inefficient, but the puppy loved it! He had three boys all to himself! And we all spent so much time at it that we actually were able to teach him a fair amount. Most importantly, we got him housebroken, to come when called, and to stay in the large and unfenced backyard.
With all the positive reinforcement, he was well socialized. He loved everyone, even strangers.
A wonderful summer.

I'm just at the CPR party and this dog has me crying. The tears started just watching this dog watching the woman, looking to her for every cue. They are so linked. But the CPR got me crying.
I really thought this was going to be silly, vacant nonsense, but I HAD to see how a dog could 'dance" with a partner. I am humbled and I was wrong. The very amount of work and love and patience that went into this is staggering to think about. Brilliant dog and brilliant human partner.

Right there in the beginning! See how he constantly looks up to her to see what she wants from him? A dog either has that from birth or it doesn’t. Look for that next time you are getting a puppy. Its a sign a dog is highly trainable. Excellent! Simply superb!
No, that's trained. You treat the dog for making eye contact during a session until they do it automatically. Literally the first thing the dog trainer did with my dog years ago.

Omg, the way the dog looks at the owner. Like, totally admiring her and listening to every command impeccably without error. Or should I describe it as "nothing's gonna get between us" type of trust. Why do people criticise this.? Dogs enjoy the attention it gets them and the bond they have with their owners. They don’t have to perform these actions if they don’t want to. Dressing up a cat is different. They often can’t get out of the clothes and feel uncomfortable in them. Let them be dogs, you say. They are being dogs.

Tu sais, j'ai un grœnendael (un cousin du malinois, mais noir à poils longs) ... ce sont des chiens aimants et fidèles ... quand tu seras grand tu peux aussi choisir ce chien ... regarde sur internet ... tu découvriras aussi le tervueren, un cousin belge également ... ils valent tous le détour et sont tous épatants 💕👍 de plus, ils apprennent très vite et très bien ce qu'on leur demande ... oui, ce sont des chiens formidables et ils aiment aussi les petits enfants, ils les protègent et sont d'excellents gardiens ... à bientôt ...😍👌
