I'm a clarinet player who's got a sixth grade daughter who is going to start playing! I showed her this funny video and told her how funny/irritating it was when reeds didn't cooperate. Thank you!
First off you have to he seated and back straight and not moving around so that way it will be easier to play longer

@@HypedGmng_ I'm the opposite. I've been playing clarinet for four years and after transferring to another school, they made me play alto sax cause I told them I played baritone for a few months in my previous band. Now I really wanna go back to clarinet.

@Rose :3 Yeah, it can be really squeaky sometimes. That’s why it’s so important to have good sounding clarinets in a band. A small squeak can ruin the whole thing,

not me who sucks at hand placements ;-; i just started like a 4ish days ago (i play in 6th grade band)

That's 100% okay! We all start out as beginners and make our way up! I'm sure if you keep consistent and practice, you'll be like "the professional" in no time!
It gets better overtime, I swear!
I could only play about 6 notes with a good tone within the first 2 months of learning and now i’ve been playing for 7 years (im a 10th grader now) and i can play pretty good now. All it takes is practice which i don’t do much of but you’ll get there just practice practice practice and i promise you won’t regret it.
I bought a clarinet off of Mercari and relearning how to play.

@@porcoddi0 I just started out on alto and its not hard because a lot of it is similar to clarinet. Sometimes its difficult for me to switch over to violin after playing clarinet for a while but that might just be because I don't have a chance to practice violin as much anymore. Its not hard though

This summer I tried to play guitar, but I had the feeling and my fingers were too soft. I play clarinet too and switching to an instrument to another one is not easy as it seems, but I'll try again, somehow
I am personally the “too short for percussion and was forced to play clarinet then after growthspurt was told she was super good at drums but wont switch because emotionally attached to instrument.”

I learned the duet today in class today lol I'm in 6th grade---- the Christmas performance comes up soon...I'm not prepared at all and my class is slow---- like they cant do the chromatic scale yet lol and I'm on the pieces now--- maybe I joined the wrong section but there's no going back now---

i have never once had an original experience
My teacher would have stabbed you in the gut with your clarinet for doing that, she get really worried when someone uses their instrument. One time the tuba player rode on his case with the tuba and she threatened him with the bills of what the tuba cost.
Edit: I am now in color guard, we have had two coaches one made us write the routines when she was supposed to write them. And the other writes the routines last minute and gave us a day to learn how to use boas and rings. She’s made all 3 of us cry and my teacher won’t get rid of her because she was the sub.
I love how every band thingy the others stare at us clarinet players as we soak our reeds. It just makes us seem different XD

I’m a clarinet beginner, and at the start when you use the clarinet.. I KNEW YOU WERE PLAYING HOT CROSS BUNS! well that’s what we call it
WE CALL IT THAT TOO! THAT'S AWESOME!
In my band they called it pigs like cheese because everyone got bored of people playing hot cross buns so they ended up renaming it pigs like cheese.
Hot cross buns is the first song anywhere, even when learning piano, it was my first song for clarinet too

I'm like...A failed freshman "prodigy" because I ended up playing multiple instruments but not well enough (I mean, well enough to jam with friends, or end up playing for a small Church or a small bar who doesn't have the budget for actually good musicians, but not better than that lol).

I’m definitely the circles one or the conductor one 😂 I always move my instrument with the notes (crescendo and higher notes means up and decrescendo and lower notes means down)

im a reeder, i can never find a good reed to play on and all of them are just too airy (everyone else in my band ,not just clarinets, are the kids who dont stop with the conductor especially the trumpets)
All of these also apply to saxophone. The Reeder one might be even more accurate
