  • Learning how to resource and regulate yourself, particularly if you have any form of neurodivergence, can be really challenging. On today's episode I share lessons from Polyvagal Theory that have been very helpful for me and those I've worked with. We then transition into an exploration focused on finding and claiming what works for YOU, allowing those practices to be natural sources of joy and ease without getting caught up in the views and judgements of other people.
    Timestamps:
    0:00 Welcome and grounding practice
3:40 Polyvagal theory, and how to use it
15:50 Finding what actually regulates you
    23:30 Reminders and intentions
    29:20 Claiming your weird
33:30 "What would you do if everything were a blank slate?"
    41:30 Closing practice
About Me: I'm a somatic psychotherapist in training with a holistic, non-judgmental approach centered in the belief that all beings have the capacity to heal, grow, and reduce suffering.

I never thought I’d be able to relate to someone so well. What a beautiful relief.

I am noticing my mind being stuck in overdrive after a day like today. But I am thankful for your story, because I too have similar experiences and all the same diagnoses. My body/ mind feel like sun burned skin, tight with fluid and heat. Damaged nerves firing in secession, communicating only pain. I feel like singing, movement and water help. I hope this stays a safe space for you to give of yourself like this💞 sending you so much love and support ✨💗💗

Thank you so much for this and your work generally! Just found through Forrest Hanson interview and really resonating with your content. Your experience is very different but also similar, and finding a mix of good ideas from what resonates, and courage from what doesn't, as it validates how diverse our experiences can be 🙏

Your wealth of information is astounding, as well as your compassion for fellow sufferers of any ANS disregulation.
I am waiting for more of your videos. Your voice put me in ventral vagal.

Dear My Therapist Witch, Your channel is amazing! I hope that you continue to make content when you can. On my own spiritual and healing journeys, this channel aligns with each of those journeys so deeply it is hard to explain! Thank you for sharing yourself and processes here with all of us 🖤

You're amazing and I'm thankful that you shared this with us. I will not bore you with all the similarities we share - it's kind of wild. I am a rock person as well...I bring them on trips, put some in my pocket when I go to the dentist, give them to my favorite people, or put them in meaningful places. I think the plants love to be talked to and acknowledged.

I have to say, it’s so refreshing having someone talk about both psychology and spirituality. I have always felt like there is more there to connect to when it comes to my own mental health so thank you for providing a space where we can discuss/listen to both

    Hello. 🌞
Thank you for sharing your personal ways to regulate i could relate a lot.
I'm German and love Heilung too. Just wanted to share the fact that 'Heilung' in German even means 'healing', so you feel the true intention. ✨️
Greetings and keep up the good work. 😊

appreciate these videos very much... mostly a quality of sharing quietness, with 'realtime' inner observations. I feel like I'm assimilating without the hectic effort of listening-translating-trying to understand-trying to incorporate-trying to block... thank you

I was interested so I went and watched a video of Heilung performing LIFA and I think I get it! I was kind of enthralled. It's very primal, and the vibrations of it did resonate with me. I also love their costuming and stage presence. It really makes you feel like you've traveled back in time.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. This video has been more helpful to me than weeks of talk therapy. I also struggle with the feeling of shutting down and wanting to sleep. Now I know how to deal with it.

I hope you don't mind me asking.. do you think your ADHD is linked or maybe even rooted in your CPTBS? As in.. having to dissociate in order to get away from the social cues all around you that overload your system/social cues maybe also making it hard to concentrate? Also: Cheers from the plants an stones team :-)
