I expected the speaker to throw some light on the subject too. BIBLICAL NONSENSE by Dr Jason Long is an excellent book on various contradictions and inconsistencies in the Bible.
Gospels are standard of any historical document out there. For example, we don't have a clue whether the father of Malayalam, Ezhuthachan actually existed. Just compare the gospels with other historical books, you will be amazed.

He interpreted these dissimilarities as contradictions. These dissimilarities of the Synoptical Gospels are known as Synoptical problem, and these problems are already solved.
