Great recipe. You can grind up the eggshells to use in place of the bone powder. If the eggs are store bought, clean them well to rid from of any chemicals, farm eggs are best if you have access to them. :)
Does using raw eggs cause Salmonella in cats? Do you think it is okay to use? I am not from UK so I don't know if there is a grade that is safe for cats or they are generally okay with this raw diet

The recipes are simple as well! Now, to include a variety of meats in my kitten's diet, could I also try this exact recipe with pork loins as well?
Yes! you can mix the meats as well, we are currently having a batch with pork and beef for example, so as long as the ratio stays the same, you can choose other meats 🥰

Nice and easy recipes. Even can do this I am using the same recipe for my puppy but using more bone as she is a growing puppy.
Sounds great! I think you can add some veggies for a puppy too, like carrots, but I am not sure on the ratios 🥰
I add tablespoon of taurine powder to a batch of 10 kg chicken (4 cats) because cats can’t make this amino acid. They need it to digest protein. Cats in the wild eat everything including eye balls, and brains . That’s where they get their taurine.
You can just add chicken hearts for that

Great job with these videos. Very informative. I would presume you are based on 80/10/10 diet. Do u supplement anything else besides the bone meal you adding ? Correct me if I am wrong. I understand there’s some nutritional deficiency in 80/10/10 ratio and I have seen some adding B complex and few other targetted supplements to their prep. Do you add such supplements?
İ used to do that to my cat as well. İ would cook that with little water and put a container to use for a two week. Usually add to her dry food to make it more delicious 😋

To prevent mushing the livers or meat, partially freeze, then chopping is much easier.

fantastic to see you feeding raw food to your cats. I’ve been researching the raw diet for cats for years and feed my cats a homemade raw diet. Even when following the 80/10/10 rule, A few essential nutrients are commonly deficient, paws of prey here on CZcams has some amazing information about the nutrients that are commonly deficient.
Hi just got my new ragdoll kitten and want her on raw food and love how simple this recipe is just a couple questions, when iv looked up raw food for cats it says about adding all these different vitamins and stuff do you need to do this and also what weight per portion per cat per day were you giving then when kittens and then now ? With the sardines do you use sardines in oil or doesn’t it matter ?

Is tomato sardines good for cats? I give my cats springwater sardines because sometimes i run out of cat food because it’s so expensive buying it here in Australia and I don’t have any money.

The sardines you added were in Tomato sauce and presumably had added salt and sugar, I thought salt/sugar isn't allowed for cats...or any veg in raw diet. Can you pls clarify? I'm new to raw diet. Thanks
Sardines should be in water only and no salt added. I didnt notice them to be in tomato sauce?

@@PixieandBluebell Hi, my cat Gunnar is 20 month old and he is really suspicious of new food, but he now eats wet food if he is really hungry. His little sister Hedda 8 month old is now eating raw food and wet food. Hopefully I can give them just raw food later.
I have one large 12 year old cat a two month old ragdoll and a Siamese larger kitten. You think those chicken chunks would be ok for the two month old?

Is it a full batch per cat ? And if so, do you separate that one batch into two meals day/night? Thank you!
The batch is for two cats. We defrost full boxes in the fridge and give them food three times per day. One box is probably 4 meals for two cats, depending on how full it is ;)
How did you start with raw food? And how do you know the right amount to give to the cat? We will get a kitten in 2 months and want to know how we can give them raw food at what age?

Eggs are completely optional, so you can skip them :)

i want to feed my cat raw, but i’m afraid for contamination. are there any extra steps to prevent risk of contamination? especially after ur cat consumes the raw food and licks people etc or is there no need?
I've been feeding my cats raw for 3 years and never had a issue. Follow the same rules when you prep meat for human consumption like wash hand and surfaces frequently and avoid letting your pet to lick you for the first 30 mins after eating if you wanna be extra safe. My cats health did a full 360° after switching to raw and my second cat was raw all her life and never had any issues. She had 2 kittens ( covid hit and clinics didnt spay) she ate raw while pregnant, nursing her babies are both on raw as well. No issues at all and the kittens are super strong and fit compared to kittens of kibble fed cats. You can will thank you for the switch

I have a Question: I noticed he didn’t mention any supplements besides the bone meal. Most of the diets I look at say to add b complex, salmon oil, tuorine, and light salt with iodine. After video I’m not sure if I need those or not. Haven’t made raw before. Getting a kitten soon.
Homemade raw diets are very high in meat therefore highly nutritious, however there are a couple of nutrients that are deficient more often than not and must be supplemented , paws of prey on CZcams has really good info about raw feeding that helped me a lot when starting to feed my cats raw

You can so the same ratios, just swap some meats for beef, you can also make a mix of different types of meat! Currently we have a pork and beef batch :)

Hi guys, we are just trying to prepare recipe for our ragdoll cat and we are wondering about bone meal powder. Could you explain how did you calculate bone powder contents? Let's say I want to prepare 1 kg of raw food. Bone contents should be 10% but I'm afraid 100g of this powder is too much. Hope that makes sense for you. Could you, please advice? Thanks :)
Hey! Bone meal is very concentrated, so it is calculated differently. The guide is to use 6 teaspoons of bone meal per 1kg of boneless meat :) 1 teaspoon of bone meal equals 2.8g. Hope this helps!

Hi based on the meat amount being 3.6kg isn't 60 grams of bone too less? 80/10/10 shouldn't it be 360 grams bone & 360 grams organs for 3600 kg meat? Sorry I'm only asking as I think I screwed up my recipe

Hi so I've just been doing research and from what I understand if your cat is overweight remove all the skin, if they are underweight keep it all on and if they are at an ideal weight I think it's like keep 50% on?

The guide is to use 2 and 1/3 tablespoons of bone meal per 3 pounds of boneless meat

Yes, you can feed kittens raw, I'd suggest 15% bone content and just make sure you freeze your batch first, then defrost in the fridge before serving :)
My kittens ate raw as soon as they got curious in meat at about 5-5 weeks old. Its safe and healthier than store bought cat or kitten food

No problem! You can also just rinse the sardines if in doubt! We buy liver from local animal feeds store or Sainsbury’s, but recently we also found it in Aldi ☺️

I wouldn't feed my cats with that much liver. It contains vitamin A and my grandfather's cat died because of vitamin A overdose. Plus I wouldn't feed my cats with sardines like that. Too much salt.. And where is taurine? It is really important for cats. This is dangerous to feed cats just like that :(
Taurine is in eggs and the chicken they are high in taurine
Could you buy chicken thighs with the skin on and it be ok?
Yes, I am not sure on the fat content, but maybe if you are using a mixture of different meats, then some thighs with skin will work great :)
Using the calculator that you mention the amount of bonemeal should be 106 grams is there a reason you are saying 60 grams?
When you use bone meal, the ratio comes up a little differently than when using bone. On the right hand side in the calculator (or a separate tab, if you are using a windows computer) there is a guide that tells you how much bone meal should be added in teaspoons; 1 teaspoon is 2.8g bone meal :)
@@PixieandBluebell I'm aware of that as I am an admin on the group where that calculator came from and the bonemeal should be weighed not measured by a tsp unless you know that your tsp matches the one used when the calculator was designed, there is a difference between an American tsp and a British tsp. We had a member who'd cat was having issues having used your recipe and when we broke everything down the recipe was short on bonemeal. When it comes to eggshell and bonemeal weighing it is the accurate way to go.

I understand that you are not supposed to add raw egg whites. Feeding your pet cat raw egg whites is unsafe as it contains avidin. Avidin is a protein in egg whites that disrupts the absorption of biotin and complex B vitamins in cats, so either cook the egg whites before feeding them to your cat, or boil them so avidin doesn’t affect your cat as much as it would without cooking or boiling.
I put added vitamins in my raw and never feed sardines in tomato sauce, as it’s allegedly bad for them.
How much do you brush and bathe you cats? Or don’t you do anything if that. And how much does a ragdoll need to go to the grooming salon? Or don’t you do anything like that.
We brush them around 3 times a week and never actually had to bathe them yet 🐾💙 also never been to a grooming saloon before

I was shocked to see that you put raw egg whites in the cat food I’ve seen a lot on CZcams that raw egg whites are not to be given to cats that it can be very bad for them. Just raw egg yolks are allowed not the whites.

It is perfectly safe to feed whole eggs :) You shouldn't feed egg whites on their own, but whole eggs are absolutely fine. I can link you a study on this if you are interested.
