    That sounds like a gem! The best music came from the 70’s, and Neil Young was one of my favorites. I’ll have to give this album a listen for sure! Btw, cool T-shirt!

      Neil Young has so much great music! I love all his styles and eras. You can never go wrong with Neil no matter what decade, but yes the 70’s has some true classics! I’m glad you enjoyed the shirt!

    Really love this record. I think little wing is probably my favorite track off this really beautiful stuff. Great review!

      I also really liked Little Wing...and was glad to see it wasn’t a cover of the Hendrix song which I feared before reading the credits. Thanks for the support!

    Hi Brendon, another great new/old album from Neil Young; i also loved the "Hitchhiker" album from 1976, released in 2017. I saw Neil Young in 1993 on his "Harvest Moon" Tour here in cologne... not what we expected, thought the concert would bei in the "Harvest-Style"... but it was a really rock/hardrock concert. Doesn't matter... a great concert over two hours pure rock with a short acoustic set, where they played the wonderful "Harvest Moon". Bye and take care.

      I don’t know, that sounds great to me. Best of both worlds. But I love Crazy Horse rocking! My favorite is the Ragged Glory period and tour. I also really liked the follow-up to Harvest Moon, the album Sleeps With Angels and the song Change Your Mind. Such a classic in my opinion.

      @@BrendonSnyder Oh yes... some great rocking music from Neil... specially sleeps with angels, i agree. Some records in the 80's are ... a little bit horrible... "Everybody's Rockin'" with the Shocking Pinks... hmmm... not one of his best albums :-)... but all in all a great artist with an enormous output in his career...

      He’s always followed his own path not worrying about trends which I respect. There are a few that I’ve only listened to a couple times and just can’t get into like Dead Man, or A Letter Home, but thankfully with such a large catalogue and the quick succession of releases there is always something new right around the corner.

    • @chrispur6883
      @chrispur6883 Před 4 lety +2

      @@BrendonSnyder I absolutely agree... only a few not so strong; Dead Man is a good example; not a bad album but not easy to get in, around that time the great albums "Mirror Ball" and "Broken Arrow". Many good and a few really good albums in recent years. Amazing for an artist in his age... one of the few from this generation who released so many great albums also in recent years is Van Morrison.

      Broken Arrow is one of my favorites too from the 90’s. But I think my favorite album at least post 70’s classics is the album Living With War....start time finish that album is perfect.

    I really enjoyed this album, glad I picked it up. I think I like it because it was recorded back in the day when he was firing on all cylinders and of course I was a much younger man always looking forward to his next release. Ragged Glory and Everybody Knows are my top favorites though he has so many albums I enjoy.

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  Před 3 lety

      Hi Greg! Yeah I think you’re right, he has so many great albums in so many styles it’s hard to pick just one as his greatest. My first Neil Young album was Ragged Glory and it has remained a favorite. Obviously I came into Neil later than you so my favorite period of his is the 90’s. But maybe my all time favorite album is Living With War. I go back and listen to that all the time and it never gets tiring and just pumps me up.

    Love Neil Young. Man Needs A Maid has always been one of my favs. The entire arrangement of that song always amazes me. Gotta pick this album up. What's your favorite from Neil? I love that you have so much selection with different genres to chose from too. I always loved CSNY song Ohio , always loved Neil's Keep On Rockin In The Free World, but my all time fav song from him is Alabama. The guitar solos are top notch

      @BrendonSnyder  Před 4 lety +2

      Yeah my interests in music are quite wide. And I love that Neil plays in so many different styles of music. Like you, I love “Rockin In The Free World”, but I also love “Like A Hurricane”, and “Powder Finger”. CSNY is also great and “Ohio” is a fave too. Probably my all time favorite album is “Living With War”. I just think that album is stunning top to bottom.

      @@BrendonSnyder great choice. The decision to acquire a horn section and choirs. The man is an underappreciated genius. Should be categorized with artists such as Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, etc

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  Před 4 lety +2

      Oh absolutely! A genius indeed. Look at albums like Storytone...or Le Noise...or even A Letter Home. The concept and idea behind the albums and how they are created alone makes them amazing but then the song craft and writing is to a whole other level. Even when he releases an album that I don’t care for like “A Letter Home” I love the concept and idea behind it and can appreciate it as the capturing of his art at a moment in time.

      You’re right but I’m always willing to get more Neil Young. The great thing is even when he does an album that’s not quite up to the quality of all his others there is always another album right around the corner. I appreciate he is always trying something new.
