- Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, a child of Hollywood royalty who came to fame as the star of the 1978 horror classic "Halloween," credits the character of Laurie Strode for everything that came after - and now she's returned to the role in the latest sequel, "Halloween Ends." Curtis talks with correspondent Tracy Smith about her horror legacy; her acclaimed performance in the sci-fi comedy "Everything Everywhere All at Once"; and her tricks to keep from ruining a take with laughter.

I have had a crush on her since I first saw her in The Movie Trading Places.
Used to see Jamie Lee Curtis in high school, when she’d watch her daughter play against our team. What you see is what you get, a down to earth kind and honest person.
I met her briefly many years ago when she was filming Trading Places in Philadelphia, and can attest to the fact that she is the most gracious, sweetest woman. I've adored her always. May she continue to live her life with light and love; she is one of the true treasures that still exist in Hollywood.

I SOOOOOO LOVE that someone is finally appreciative of the role that made them. Too many are dismissive about being typecast, ungrateful. I love that she understands and appreciates what the role in that film gave her.
I totally agree. I often wonder why more actors don’t appreciate the roles that gave them great success and just enjoy the fact that those roles resonated with an audience.
@@mommykade9195 its sad, but many people don’t appreciate it because it will typecast them, and sometimes, careers will hit a dead-end for an actor if they get type-cast too quickly and no work is available.
She is very lucky that the role she played is still relevant today.
I know it’s so refreshing. Henry winkler is another celebrity who publicly has said he owes everything to the Fonz and even today when people come up to him to tell him how much they loved Fonzie he finds it absolutely delightful.
It WAS nice to hear that, wasn’t it? The gratefulness was always expressed by movie greats of another era but rarely today. Joan Crawford, Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis all humble and so grateful.

When I was a little girl, I found comfort in her. Watching Halloween, Dave, My Girl.. I just loved her.. now 37, I still do.. and her work has helped me and many through dark periods of times, whether she will ever know or not.
@tiki98 omg how did I forget that one!! That is the one that introduced me to Jamie Lee. The reason why I love her as an actor so much is because it reminds me of my parents. Lost my dad this summer and my mom 9 years ago so it’s nostalgic for me.. so people can be rude in their comments here but to me it’s just a reminder of when times were simpler and happier.
I should say it was another video I commented about how much I love Jamie Lee and someone mentioned I have mental health problems.. people are becoming more and more crueler as time goes on but I’ll always have my memories to hold on to.. lol

She has such a great quality about her and the way she handles this industry. It's also great to see someone full of gratitude for the role that started it all. I feel like that's a rare thing that a lot of them when they get bigger and more famous, tend to say well no I didn't like that at all but I had to do it because... Great to know that's not the case here and that she's enjoyed it.

Jamie always adds a depth of survivor's trauma and toughness to these last Halloweens beyond the usual hack and slash. Met her husband once (pretty icy guy). Except for her, Everything All At Once was terrible (walked out), but love her in Fish Called Wanda ("The London Underground was not a political movement!"). Long live Jamie!
Hands down one of my favorite actresses, I can watch one of her movies and not turn it off unless it’s Halloween I get scared lol

I heard a story once that Jamie Lee was exiting a parking garage and the gate came down on her car. The employee was so worried because he knew who she was. He said Jamie got out of her car and apologized up and down saying it was probably her fault (it wasn’t), didn’t complain about car damage, etc.. She was gracious, kind and didn’t sweat it at all.
