Proud Mary
Bayou Country
Lyrics:
Left a good job in the city,
Workin' for The Man ev'ry night and day,
And I never lost one minute of sleepin',
Worryin' 'bout the way things might have been.
CHORUS:
Big wheel keep on turnin',
Proud Mary keep on burnin',
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis,
Pumped a lot of 'pane down in New Orleans,
But I never saw the good side of the city,
'Til I hitched a ride on a river boat queen.
CHORUS
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
If you come down to the river,
Bet you gonna find some people who live.
You don't have to worry 'cause you have no money,
People on the river are happy to give.
CHORUS
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river. - Hudba
One of the best GRoups We ever had.
This song makes me think of my mom dancing in the kitchen while making Saturday morning breakfast. She worked her ass off but Saturdays where her days off. I miss you, mom.
Kristi Mitchell rip
Hope you're ok Kristi, keep going!
The memory alone and the way you described it literally brought me to tears.
so cute!!
nobody gives a fuck lady get off youtube and bullshit to somebody else we dont want to your bullshit ok have a good day
Awesome song, awesome singers, awesome song writer mr Fogarty
Our mom used to sing "Doelit on a River" with her heavy Greek accent AHAHAHAH What's a doelit??? :D !! Forever in our Hearts XOXO Mom
We have something in common to share then! My grandparents hummed or sang this song like that on road trips! Good times...
@@nintony2994 precious memories to cherish forever!
where is your mom today.

It does sound like doe lit. Proud Mary keep on bouwnin
Perfect example of how a really good song doesn’t need fancy production or technique, it’s just undeniably solid. And Fogerty’s voice? OMG. Raw and unmistakeable.
Like a saw..
1975 - this song is awesome!
2020 - this song is awesome!
ooooh yes! 😍
3020 , awesome song
Good taste
My fishing shit for sure
MN Creek Water lol
Mi nombre is Mary tengo 75 años y baile mucho y disfrute mucho su música gracias por ser parte de mi juventud gracias .❤❤
Rest in peace Tina Turner baby Love's got everything to do. 😮
I never get tired of listening to the oldies.
Quality music lasts forever. The new music coming out today stinks. We have lost our way....the new generation doesn't have it.
Rose tinted specs pal. Yes, there was some good music back in the day. But HMV Junior music club wouldn't sell 'Little Black Sambo' to kids nowadays so it wasn't ALL roses
It wasn't all roses but nothing ever is all the time. I'm just saying we had better music back then. We've lost that creative spirit to produce good music. Today's music stinks to high heaven!.....local radio stations here in TN reverted back to the oldies to inorder prop up their record, low sagging listership. Today's music sucks BIGTIME!. We've lost our creative way.....I'm afraid that this is indicative of a nation in decline among our youth.
There will never be music like the 60s and the bands
Had a Drill Sgt David at Ft Leonardwood, one day out the Blue... on march he goes "I'm going to try something new, its a song, we are going to try in cadence.."
This was it, we did a section of Proud Mary and we did it so good, he said "Hooah! We're going have to do this one more often.."
I knew it thanks to CCR AND TINA.. AND I LIKED IT
The best part of CCR is everyone has heard a song by them
Id say the best part is their music.
I wouldn't be so sure about that, there are pidple that never heard of queen, like, the queen
A yet, a lot of people do not know who they are
I'd say more than any other band in history
@@DoonhamerPedro They did NOT write proud marry, this is just them doing a cover better than the original.
:]
My grandparents danced to this song at the VFW everytime it was on and it was their song at their 50th wedding anniversary ( I still have the picture of at their 50th dancing to the song! 🥰) . He passed in 2001 and she's now she's 97 and with dementia and alzheimers. She talks to him most nights now. Longing to be with him. It was both of their one and truly loves..he came home from WW2 and married her. I hope one day they get to dance in heaven to this once again.
Vow, a love so steadfast and true, God bless your grandma. This world is so crazy right now, music and stories of real people like your grandparents give hope to dream.

God bless them
To all those who comment on this, and other songs of the era, re my Dad did , my Mom used to etc.... remember they were an amazing generation, that generation evolved and took on challenges that todays generation do not know, and could never know. To raise you kids with zero experience and zero instruction manual, with the World changing at a turbo charged pace, but they did it. Bless them.
John Fogerty is a Genius.
I'll never forget hearing this for the first time. In 1968. My buddy and I were driving from Huntsville, Alabama to Memphis on a lark. Stopping at a diner, I saw "Proud Mary" on the jukebox list and out of curiosity played it. The fact that Memphis came up in the lyrics struck me as an odd coincidence, and I loved the song from the start. When it later climbed up the charts, I remembered that we heard it months before it became a hit in early '69.
TPOrchestra aaa
Was it near O'Donnell's? I think I remember that jukebox...
Was that you in that white Camaro?
@@georgia7360 man it was definitely yoo..... Good memories....

CERTIFIED BANGER 🔥🔥🔥💖💖💖💯💯💯🕉🕉🕉🙌🙌🙌
One of the best rock/pop songs ever.
I feel like every song Creedence released was a hit.
Only problem is that people covered their song and the covers got more famous
@@eggboimcgee6050 bullshit!
Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Down on the Corner, Born on the Bayou, Midnight Special, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Lodi, Green River, Run Through the Jungle, Looking Out My Back Door, Traveling Band, Fortunate Son.....these are all amazing classic hits.
@@franksemyon5855 proud mary was way more famous with Tina turner. Most people only know the bad moon rising cover and alot of credence songs people dont know it's by creedence

No fancy lights, movements, or choreography. Just great singing.

Jhon Focerty is a fine man and thats his song is a gold.

Burning = Boynin'
Working = Woykin'
I heard = I hoyd
Moving forward in motion = CHOOGLIN'

I danced with my mom on stage to CCR.knee high to a grass hopper.R.i.P momz
I first heard this on the radio while lying sick in bed almost 60 years ago.
CCR don’t get enough credit for this song. Most people think it’s by Tina Turner and Ike.
John fogarty's a legend mate!!
Hey😬😁😁I just covered this song (amateurly) and would love to hear your thoughts 😁😁
Too true, man
Most of those people are stupid then.
Bless Ccr !
MY FATHER USED TO SING THIS SONG TO ME SO THAT I COULD GO TO SLEEP, ALONG WITH HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN, AND SOME OTHER GREAT SONGS THAT HE KNEW. HE AND THESE SONGS WILL ALWAYS BE DEEP IN MY HEART.
So simple, but like "Mona Lisa". I just cannot understand, how some guys can have THE touch.
You young folk have no idea how big this song was.
everyone needs some creedence in their life
yeah
Ya can't go wrong if you play a little bit of that Creedence song.

Much respect from El Salvador Central America..and God bless America..
When you see the bands perform they show they enjoyed it. The laught. Smiled
One of the best bands of all time! A propensity for great songs, cheerful mood and timelessness!
We saw cover band at Hebron Fair and their performance brought me back to my youth, reminding me just how great CCR was and continues to fill the air ways with joy!
I am a Louisiana Cajun and the way Fogerty pronounces his words is spot on Cajun. That California kid is an honorary Cajun.
Now, This is real music here!
My daddy played this song 🎵 in the bush cutting down his firewood 🪵 for winter 🥶 Damm daddy Damm 🪵🪵🌹🌹🔥🤟🤟🤟
The all round talent of these musicians is a wonderful testament to why one never tires of listening to their vibrant density in music and excellent singing!
Sounds like an AI comment lol 😂🎉
100% true
That song first came out. I went and bought it and still have the 45 record.
MAFIA 3 anyone ? loved the songs on the radio :)
Proud Mary keep on burning 🇺🇸
One of their best from 1969 It made number two on the Billboard charts and two years later Tina Turner got to number four with her version of the song. They had several other hits my favourite is Bad moon rising also 1969. Along with Looking out my back door. Down on the corner. Have you ever seen the rain. Up around the bend
I love this song!
My grandma won a vinyl player, gift from my Uncle... I went to her home to listen some vinyls, and then I put the one of Creedence Clearwater Revival, one of the first songs was this one... My dad said: "This vinyl was of my father... He exchanged two of the rolling stones to get one of CCR"
My grandma said that the Grandpa used to love this song, my father loves this song as well, and then here I'm am, just enjoying!
3 generations, probably my son will listen to this, I hope hahaha
Stay well guys!
How ever is listening to this in 2021 is a legend
Love Creedence. Didn't like this song at first.
Then I went canoeing and this song came on. "Rooolllin on the River"

CCR never got a number one hit in the Billboard charts. Incredible isn´t?
Espetacular !!!!! Vamos que vamos de quarentena!!! Quem tá ai.....força!!!
Wow..never knew that.... I learned yesterday that Fogerty still is mad because the rest of the bandmembers sold their rights to Proud Mary to one of his biggest enemies (thought it had to to sometihing with an oil company)
Big wheel keep on toining, Proud Mary Keep on boining. Can't fault the original. It's pure and it's BRILLIANT! I'm not making fun. This is Fantastic. 😊
🌼 The Best Song = of ALL Times Amazing Memories ♥ •
I listened often to them as a teen. Right now my grandkids are here with me enjoying such a marvellous song. ❤
Escuto desde 1990 na barriga da minha mãe. Obrigado Pai, por me ensinar o que é o melhor da música. Esse é o verdadeiro saudoso rock clássico. Obrigado Creedence!

My father and I would drive down south to the border for vacation in his 69 charger listening to creedence when I was 7 years old , now I’m 28 and I drive him down the border in my 68 nova listing to creedence
50 anni fa sentii per la prima volta questa canzone ed avevo vent'anni ,come passa il tempo.
Crazy how CCR only existed for such a short time, but in that time put out some of the best rock songs in history
short time?? um wut
Active only from 1967-1972, that's a pretty short span.
Actually it was John who pumped out the hits. The others just hung on for the ride then screwed him over
@@phantomdust9162 Yeah, even tried to make an album without him and to say the least, it was even worse than John Lennon's solo projects while he was in the Beatles in late 1960s.
Quem em 2020 está curtindo esta lenda. Inesquecíveis.
Muito bom
My mom turned me onto ccr when i was 6 i always wanted too take her too see john but i cant know shes listening too him in heaven… rest easy mother..❤️❤️🙏

I did the same thing but then stubbed toe. Don’t rock too hard
Wow This is one of my favourite songs in the world I listen Tina’s every day and I didn’t know until today April 2020 that it was covered. Wow well this writer and his band have a blessing to the world xxx
You're not wrong! I highly suggest you check out CCRs discography and John Fogertys solo stuff.
Well then, you're in for a real treat. CCR is one of the best rock bands in history. They have so many great songs, that will bring you joy for a very long time.
