As an Omen main, I lost count of how many times I've watched again and again his entrance. I have been waiting for so long for him to be in a cinematic, I guess the waiting was worth.
Edit: Came back here after 9 months. Omen is still my main and his entrance still sends me chills.

This is one of the best animations I've ever seen. They nailed the camera angles and movement to create and suit moods, like the camera panning in a circle against the turning of Omen's smoke while Sage is desperately fighting off the training bots. That scene was sick.

I see a lot of people talking about how agressive sage is but i don’t really see anyone talking about what Omen tending to a bonsai could represent. A bonsai is usually associated with states of mind like meditation and contemplation and is an art form onto itself that requires a lot of patience and dedication. I find it really cool how they’ve taken opposite parallels for two characters, one representing death and the other life and how different their personalities are- with omen being patient and calm while sage is wrathful and violent. Beautiful.

This shows omen doing another meditation related exercise. In Valorant omen likes to do these sort of tasks because it helps him focus. If you play a game where there’s a Phoenix and Omen on the same team you’ll get this line (Phoenix) "Hey Omen! I respect a guy who knits. That's pretty cute!" (Omen) "It helps me focus. Oh, what do you care?" It’s nice to see different ways Omen tries to keep his head relaxed and focused.
Or maybe even Omega Omens version of keeping focused?

Interesting fact you might like to know:
Omen and Sage have a solid,strong bond to eachother ( this is probably due to Sage tried to revive Omen when he was obliterated at the facility when Omen was "revived" not in a typical fashion it might created an instance where Omen and Sage will always be bounded to eachother on a spiritual level and since Omen always needs to focus to not get ripped apart, he is cutting a bonsai tree to relieve his mind and focus on doing one thing, he also knits because of that. ) . Because they have a strong bond, Omen actually feels what Sage is into and he senses if she gets hurt. That's why in the cinematic when Sage gets hurt Omen immediately senses that she is in danger and goes to help her afterwards.
Is no one gonna mention the animation inside the Omen smoke?! Goosebumps...

Thing is, from this cinematic, we got to see that Omen is actually among the reasonable people in the protocol, they way he tried to calm sage down. The way he casually walked to help sage was amazing too. I really need more Omen lore.

One minor correction the Omen in this cinematic belongs to "Valorant Legion(Omega Earth)" not "Valorant Protocol(Alpha earth)"

its quiet interesting how omen has a special connection with sage, being able to detect her copy in a match when he says his voice line and being able to detect she's hurt or using her powers.
I think her healing powers draw from the same sort of energy Omen has, that's why he reacted instantly when she started healing herself in the cinematic
Because she failed in actually bringing him back to life. He's not human anymore. Because of that he and Viper can't be together and he has a massive grudge against her. So does Viper. It's showing here that he's forgiven her mistake. Viper on the other hand hasn't forgiven her at all. One of her lines is literally: "Don't fail us like you failed me then."

@@legendboyAni Viper only did the experiment because Sage said she could revive him if needed. Turned out she wasn't strong enough to do so at the time even though she made a promise that she could. So how would it not be Sage's fault?
@@Eventide215 because all 3 knew the risks and still did it? Sage literally "revived" Omen, but a revive isn't as simple (lore-wise) and Sage did mess up. Viper also did the experiment that results in Omen dying and Sage having to revive him. All 3 are involved in the experiment and carry as much guilt as they did. There's no weighing to guilt - no more, no less, just involved or not.
Seeing Sage let loose and show her true power really shows us that she is definitely “not just our healer”

I don't even play this game, or know anything about it's lore, but I love coming back to give this a rewatch often. The animation in the sequence with Sage and Omen is so great, especially in tandem with the music.
I love how Fade as an initiator is not only meant to get information in the game, but is getting information in this cinematic too.
Just like how sage is the first on-site and not the duelists.

In the lore sage is one the original members of valorant. So she basically have been doing missions from the start. And here we can actually see how much of a veteran she is compared to the newer recruits. 💕

I thought it was more about the fact that she didn't go on many missions (because she needed to revive fallen agents after their missions, otherwise half the agents would be dead from their deaths in the cinematics), but now that risks are bigger with the nexus and everything, she has to train to become more of a battle sage

At first I thought Omen would be openly resenting Sage for turning him to what he is right now, but seeing him help Sage and even console her when she came down from her adrenaline gives his complexities more depth. It's like only Viper is angry at Sage for messing up Omen's resurrection.

@@winterwolves5272 Omen gets fatally injured or dies (not exactly sure) but Sage revives him but he didn't come out the same. Some agents blame her and even Sage herself blames herself for unable to save Omen before he turned to Omen.

We are seriously in need of Valorant animated series. I'm dying to know who's the missing agent and the series would be a perfect opportunity to explore more about them. This trailer just makes me want it even more!
sadly that won't happen in a while because riot released a series for league after 10+ years, i wish it could be sooner but i think it will be a while until valorant gets a series

The connection between omen and sage getting shot as he cut the last branch is really neat, the way he talks in game about "feeling her pull against the natural balance" and when he kills her last he says "I've reset the balance". kinda like a life vs death thing between their forces

The music, the godly animation, the editing.. just everything is mixed and synced so well together.. an absolute masterpiece ! Omen's entry brought chills down to my spine and it was fricking sick !!!

I love the rise of THIS animation style. As seen in Spiderverse, Arcane and Puss in Boots 2 (etc). This style looks like its all hand drawn but thats whats unique about it, its vibrant and visually amazing. A Valorant Series/Movie would be really interesting... It would be awesome to see this animation style be accompanied by amazing storytelling.

The scene at 3:04 is so cute, shows that Omen doesn't have any grudge against Sage for not being able to bring him fully back from the dead.
EDIT: people were confused abt the backstory (not candid):
Viper and human omen were lab partners, then there was an experiment including omen, and viper said she’d only let him do it if sage promised she could bring him back. The experiment ended up with human omen passing away, and when sage tried to revive him, she messed up. So Viper is mad because she lost a friend (some presume lover) who has 0 memories now, and Omen is mad because he is in constant pain.
why would he hold a grudge, he should be grateful for it tbh, he gets a second chance to be around people he cares about and help.

I love how Omen came to Sage's aid when she was showing signs of struggle and his nod, signifying her that she doesn't have to do everything alone. That connection they made was really something and I loved it.

Fade and Sage were the stars of this cinematic Fade is just chilling while 2 People are trying to hunt her down after she basically gave someone a nightmare while Sage was destroying the Bots but she got hurt so Omen had to help. Valorant Agents are just something else

Omen finally got to be in an animatic cinematic and it was amazing
I was confused at the end for a second but I replayed the message Fade sent to everyone, it showed two figures in red while the others were blue, so Astra and Harbor shown were actually the doubles
its the other way around, so the phone says the message is too the valorant LEGION, mirror earth version of the valorant protocol. the new map Lotus is on mirror earth like pearl is. so Harbor and Astra are from our earth, fade jett kj sage omen and raze were from mirror earth.

and the mirror earth is invading our earth (the original world)
they Invade our earth because their earth experienced a radionite crisis thats slowly destroying their world. It explains pearl: a city underwater located in turkey because turkey is underwater in that universe. Radionite (the element the discovery of which causes valorant timeline split off from ours) is the main energy source in the game. All tech in the valorant universe) breaches arms, kjs bots, Brims gauntlet etc) is powered by radionite.

Sage was the reason why omen lost his body and always have a confrontation with viper, sage failed the two of them so she steeled herself to never repeat the same mistake she did in the past

Plus he's bond to Sage on a spiritual level, he's what the energy that sage uses to heal, he knows where that energy comes from. He mentions this in dialogue with sage during the game, but the tone he uses when he says it more likely means that the place from sage is taking her energy is not pleasant at all, or the omen itself is part of this healing energy - this would mean that the energy that symbolizes death is the same energy that gives life

@@kayleeguinn9977 i think there is a lore reason for their bond thats not romantic. if you notice right when sage heals herself omen can sense it, probably referencing how the souls omen takes is what lets sage heal.

@@Descreeet Nah the people who worked on this are Blur, they did other Cinematics for Riot in the past for both League and Val
They still can't make a tv seriey based on Valorant because it's still new, it lacks source material unlike League of Legends that had been around for a long time and it's lore is now established.
Yeah well it took 10 years for LoL to get a series. Valorant's been around only for z2 years, so we gotta wait at least 7-8 years more to really set up the story and all the lore

These cinematics are so good! the flow in animation and the graphics holy cow! We even have 4 mini-stories that give a bit of character depth with how they interact with each other.
