They should have used wi-fi tech to allow for lossless audio in home. Big miss and would have been a true differentiator in the market.
Modern headphones are significantly more integrated hardware platform than a simple bulky speaker. Sonos simply does not have the capability to develop their own headphone motherboard that host all chips/modules on it. That is why.. With that being said, don't have high hopes on their ANC as the solution is also the onboard ANC solution from a Chinese provider and Sonos does not have the capability to tune it right.
00:47 The look though!
I felt it
How do they compare to Sony WH-1000MX5 or Apple Airpods Max?
Pretty much anything in this category/price range is better than AirPod Max.
But judging by first impressions from other CZcamsrs, they like Sonos better.
You have to wait for the review embargo to lift to find out
they DO NOT pair to your existing sonos system unless you have the ARC. other than that, they are standard bluetooth headphones
This is a big miss IMO. love their products but this is gonna be a pass for me.
They said support for the ray and both generations of the beam will be coming. It’s disappointing they couldn’t have that at launch
I hope they support Sonos Amp at some point. I have an outdoor speaker setup in my backyard. These headphones would fit well in that ecosystem.
Sorry but you stated in your video that lossless audio was via usb c lead but on Sonos website it says by Bluetooth as well.
Yes, by bluetooth with Android compatible phones. No iPhones
Can I listen to lossless via Apple Music with my iPhone on these via Bluetooth?
I don’t think so, Apple doesn’t allow it which is is crazy like Apple Music has lossless since 2021… it’s time they start supporting wireless lossless
This is how the Airpods Max should've looked like
So I need a Sonos soundbar
u need the ARC soundbar , they don't pair to other soundbars but they are supposedly working on that for the future. If you don't have an ARC then these are standard bluetooth headphones
Only if you want to use these to swap the home theater sound to the headphones while you watch a movie/tv. But if you spent a few thousand to have a Sonos home theater setup seems like a waste to listen through headphones.
$450 good lord
They’re competing against the $549 Max
Lossless audio through USB C only?
Will buy it 😊
No mic if I want to use w my work computer?
They have beamforming microphones
They look pretty nifty
Finally! I've been waiting for Sonos to release headphones I can incorporate into my Sonos system to effortlessly transfer from any speake...wait. They are releasing headphones that don't incorporate into your existing Sonos set up? Of course they are...
Most importantly how is the bass?
Anything less than Ace of Bass will be disappointing.
@@SavedByZero By any chance if you remember the Swedish band Ace of Base?

if the main feature of these is a seamless transition from watching a movie on a Sonos soundbar, then it seems a bit too little to excite anyone? How many headphone buyers already own a sonos system? Also that pricetag... Ppl buy noise-canceling headphones to take with them on a flight, work at a noisy office or a cafe. Watching movies at home wearing headphones (and especially when you already have a sonos soundabar!) would be far down the list of actual usecases (right?)
it only works on the ARC soundbar and no other soundbars but they say they are working on that for future updates. Other than soundbars, they do not work with your Sonos ecosystem, just a standard pair of bluetooth headphones
Yeah I'm confused on why it's a prominent feature. If you've got the money to invest into the Sonos ecosystem for home theater, then why the hell would you waste it by swapping the sound to headphones. Its a nice feature and I'm sure it'll be used occasionally during late nights, but anyone spending the money it takes for sonos would rather get the full experience. It would only be an exceptional feature if you get the same benefit watching a film away from your home theater.
Ill be watching something then go to the kitchen to cook something and take my tablet/phone with headphones to keep watching. When I'm back in my living room it's right back to the big screen. I didn't buy a 65" LG OLED and 5 Sonos system to listen on headphones.
yeah. very weird that this feature is front and center. very niche in my opinion. Still, got to give them at least points for industrial design. These look really sleek. Much better the Airpods Max.
But in a market where we have Sony and BOSE headphones for
ANC. Whats ANC like.
Shhhh, don't mention the app!
Late to the party and gimmicky features. Going to have to sound great to move units at this price point.
How do these companies make money on products that are $500, when you can get the same thing for $300.
and its only 599 Canadian dollars....
They kinda look like airpods max
9 years too late. It legit was when the idea first presented itself seriously internally.
shame they broke the app. completely hopeless poorly implemented beta test software forced on all customers
I did IT in the past, and was installing a Sonos system as well as APs in a clients house on Christmas Eve, and spent hours just trying to get the Sonos speakers to talk to each over over the network. It was a massive house. I never figured it out, but that was reason enough to not consider their products again.
not entirely sure what went wrong but I have never had a network issue with Sonos. have used them on a few different network setups. been using Sonos since 2019
Probably a sign you should quit your job in IT.
its worse now with their newly downgraded S2 app.
Their new app is, to put it mildly, a total disaster.
Why in the world would they not fully integrate them into the Sonos system? Ridiculous. And such a limited feature set on release. Half baked. Soon as used to be one of the companies that I admired the most, no longer.
No lossless, no thank you.
Bose copied 1000% by Apple, Sony, Sonos when it comes to audio, in every single product/aspect.
How much did they pay you for this video? I can't wait for some real reviews where these get destroyed by sony, hose and APM
You’ve listen to them and compared them then? Or just want them to fail?
LOL they’re not even Bluetooth compatible? These will almost certainly fall flat
Where did you get the idea they are not Bluetooth compatible?
@@Bitcoin_hodler92 from the fact that they require an existing Sonos system to transfer audio to them. I haven’t seen anything about them directly connecting to a phone via Bluetooth

AirPods Max wannabes
As a heavy Apple user with almost every Apple product in my home, I think they look way better than AirPods Max
No one will buy these
I wonder if they will need to be factory reset every 6 months like every other Sonos system I come across.
