I hope you enjoy part 1 of my home tour. There are still things we are working on, but it is such a fun journey. I will have to tell you the story of how we found this home in a separate video! It was meant to be!
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door OMG! This is what Iâve been asking for! I canât wait! â€ïž
Yay! Iâm so glad!! See you on Monday đ
Oohhhh excited already, I cannot wait! X
I actually play this game and I love it I'm also a vintage girl myself im so In love with the styles the movies I love it
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door myself and my mother would both really enjoy a Pyrex video of you showing us what you have!
Can we take a moment to appreciate just how supportive her husband is? đ
He probably enjoys it also

@@anarchyintheuk9443 Please leave them alone, they're not bothering anybody
And how many gifts people give her ? Probably like 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 gift from her husband and friends and family. Probably everyone
Why are so many people being rude and toxic in this reply section!!
Absolutely love this! Let's do a whole street of fifties houses! We'll chat over the fence while we're hanging laundry out to dry!
I would love to live in a real community.
Count me in!
My mother did that all the time . She really got to know her neighbors (and heard plenty of gossip, I am sure)! That socialization would make laundry day a lot more pleasant.
Let's do it !
You.. genius!
I'm an Asian but I always admire American old days. 80s 70s 60s ever older. You are very beautiful and inspiring â€
The shade of her shoes matches her belt đđđ she so cute
Yeah, the old way was to match bag, belt and gloves/hat.
Obviously, that's a no-no now, but you could go with a lighter color or something that contrasts in an interesting way. For example, red and pink. Dark teal and orange. Grey and pink. Pink and black. Dark green and light blue.
Usually, you make sure they're the sane pitch, but not always. Too many pastels looks odd. You can do say, bright red-orange jeans and d'orsay shoes of the same color. I put that with a pink and cream Joie blouse. I would not use a black jacket with it. Brown would work.
You'll find a lot of interesting things on eBay. Sometimes, vintage housewares or jewelry. I just bought a Dixie dog planter for under 20.00 and a sputnik broch/necklace.
You want super nice condition. Don't handle things too much. There was a lot of lead and worse in old dishes and toys and such. Including Fisher Price, Corningware, Pyrex and even Tupperware. Wash after handling this old stuff, because you don't know.
Please see leadfreemama. Found her looking for very pristine Lincoln Logs for a friend's kid. Tamara Rubin.
Her blouse pins as well.
Where in the video do you see her shoes?
@@labradoriteatheart at the beginning of video. They were shown multiple times.
Love your home...being 77 years old...I grew up with the 1950's styles. My tastes, however, go back to the 1920-1940 period. My home was built in 1919...I grew up here. Today, the furnishings are originals from the 20's-40's. I'm a collector of vintage radios and phonographs, as well as the records they play. Have restored all of them and they play beautifully. My late dad had a TV sales/service business and he sold many sets like your Motorola. Customers kept their sets for years, unlike today's throw-away mentality.
Most of our appliances were made in the United States. They were well-made and lasted a very long time. I still have a rotary dial phone that was from the 1960s and worked wonderfully the sound was incredible. I have kept it to show my grandchildren the phone my husband and I talked on when we were teenagers. I used it up until about 10 years ago. It still works. I remember growing up with a Sears Kenmore washer and dryer. It lasted 25 years. The washer and dryer we bought two and a half years ago broke it's a Sears made in China model. Kind of expensive. Don't buy anything made in China anymore. Japan okay.
@@songbirdforjesus2381 I still am using my late parents' 1970 Whirlpool Dryer!
@@songbirdforjesus2381 Agree wholeheartedly! Same with clothing and don't get me started with shoes.
@@songbirdforjesus2381 Yeah, particularly infant/pet food or anything you are supposed to eat off of.
See the melamine poisonings.
@@rosemarymccammond9899 Italian designers still make great shoes. They do tend to be very narrow, though...and the sizing is different. The last forever, tho. I have a pair of Manolos I got from a 2nd hand shop for 30.00. Still have them.
I was a child in the 60's. We never were scared of creepy people. Just played outside for hours, fun. My parents had the pole lamp, and the cassorrole dishes. We had a cottage in Turkey point. I use to catch frogs, and bugs, and fish with my dad. It was a relaxing time. I like your house. Very interesting to look at.
I had to be home for dinner my mom said everyone's ready to sit down ad the question was asked where is Christine everyone came out looking for me could usually find me doing things I was not supposed to this was always followed by a spanking all the way and right in front of my friends, I was never grounded never got things taken away like no ice cream tonight, after supper, and after supper I was back out playing we played kick ball. In front of my house my dad was out sitting on the front steps watering the grass, if The game broke up we played hide and seek then every kid watched the street lights when they came on it was over we all had to get home my friend Susan and I would sit ion her front steps or mine drinking a coke or Pepsi just talking and laughing my parents knew where I was and hers also knew, those were fun days not like today my 9 yr old grand son wanted to walk to subway his mom said yes and gave him money I was a wreck until he got. Home, my daughter said mom he's 9, do you have anything idea how far I went when I was his age I didn't really want to know, and I remember being 9going to the swamp waiting for the train we jumped on and road for a few blocks jumped off and went to the neighborhood corner store to get penny candy
We played outside all day and night just so you made it home when the street lights went on kids said see ya tomorrow, and off there'd fly it was time four the late news and late show my dad popped popcorn got us cokes or Pepsi suddenly it was me and my sister alone in the basement and a demo that door to get the popcorn pot alone lived in one of the cabinets I would not even open the door to get the popcorn pot unless my dad was with me, that was creepy for me playing outside nope
I wish that except the 50's no kidnappers everything happy
Yeah except racism was still alive. Only a good time for white peopleđ€Łđ€Ł
I was born in the mid 2000s but vintage things really fascinates me .
Wow! I think this is way better than a big celebrity mansion,I love how you donât care what others think! Stay safe âđ»â€ïž
Same I support her asthetic!!đđđâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
As someone who filled up her old townhouse with thrifted antiques, I appreciate this so much đ mine isn't historically accurate at all, but there is something so magical about having the energy of old times surrounding me.
I was raised by a 50âs housewife and her mother was very much in our life as well. They both wore dresses with hosiery daily and the bright red lip. This tour is like going back in time. Thank you!!
It so like going back in time! I love it too!
I love the red lips.

my mom wore lipstick everyday

I love the 1950âs! Your house is gorgeous! 1950âs fashion and home decor are great!
I absolutely love your 50's home! the 50's are one of my favorite vintage eras. You look just beautiful in your 50's period fashion, it fits you perfectly! What a fabulous video, thank you!
I am a caregiver and work with a 88 year old lady. She bought her 1st house in the 50âs. Her home is filled with so many vintage things and Roses. I love listening to her stories and just the other day we went through her closet and she had so many pretty dresses that reminded me of you. Iâm glad you find happiness in something many people forget. When I see her next Iâm definitely showing her your videos. And your right the furniture they made in the 50s was meant to last.
Love how every piece has adds character and pops of colour yet blends naturally in the space; miss this aesthetic
Thank you!! Thatâs really nice to hear.
This is a sad comment and I apologize in advance. My grandfather was born November 21, 1955 and died this past April 16th I am still so very heartbroken and seeing how he kinda lived with your home Laci makes me feel warm on the inside. It still makes me sad to think about him but really happy to see how he lived as a little boy. Thank you for making me feel happy at a really sad time.
why are you apologizing

Since then my gerbil died (escaped cage and fell), my great grandfather died (Covid), my fish died, my dog died (hit by a car), my cousin got depressed and started failing in school, great grandmother died (natural), and my grandfather I was talking about in this comment died from falling off a ladder. It has been a rough year!
Lovely home, I was born in 1954 and remember this era. I'm sure June Cleaver would approve, thanks for the tour
me too 1954 :)
This house is the cutest house ever no celebrity can beat this i feel like I should add you are such a beautiful lady very very beautiful
I absolutely agree!!
Yes, it is truly lovely.
I love her voice. Peaceful & informative lol. I adore how she is so open and welcoming into her life â€ïž
Your house is so cheerful! Great job decorating!
Great house! The aesthetics of everything but especially appliances from the 50's are so much nicer. It is like having functional art in your house. Love your stove and fridge.
Absolutely love your house!!!

Strawberry: in the hutch
Boxing gloves:third shelf on bookcase

Not gonna lie, the minute the house tour started I completely forgot about the hunt for the objects. đ
Your home is stunning though, I love it đđ

Grow up during this time it was good, I remember being told I could play outside but be home when the street lights came on, lol
I think that she is so beautiful and I love that she is so authentic she just has such a positive and sweet vibe
It felt so weird to me to see you standing by your kitchen window and watching new cars drive by. If that makes sense.
I was born in 53 and this is my life! My dad used to sell and service Motorola, Zenith, RCA, and other brands. If memory serves the Motorola Quazar featured works in a drawer and it really cut into dad's repair business. Printed, solid state circuit boards that could be easily replaced took the place of vacuum tubes. It used to be my job to work at the shop bench, vacuum out all the dust and dead bugs, and remove and test each tube - then replace the dead ones. I also sorted electronic parts in shop inventory by color codes, and by age 9 or 10 I got to answer the phones. I would ask questions so dad could trouble shoot the problem and pack the right diagnostic gear and parts he might need on the in home service calls that I scheduled. (I was a precocious, old soul.). Getting the old tube sets fixed now is difficult. Your lamps and lampshades - more memories! I could go on and on, but I will spare you! đ Thank you for the stroll down memory lane.â€
My dad's first job was an assistant for a tv repair man. He went on to become an electrician and repairs antique electronics as a hobby. He has cathedral radios, tvs with 8 inch screens and all kinds of photographs. The old tubes are probably hard to find because he hoards them all lol Any time he finds any online he snaps them up.
Wow $100 for the stove đ€© thatâs a bargain. I would have fought for it. So beautiful. Love it đ»
Woow you're gamero is that sibling of Figaro
Ms Lacey depicted every detail perfectly of the 1950s time, with the rare items as well as the way every item works perfectly. Continue Ms.Lacey in preserving the decent, neat, clean, sleek, elegant, and the eloquence in bringing the quality of life every one can always have. Preserve it Ms.Lacey and never get tired. Thank you.
I grew up in the 50's, and if we could go back in time I would repeat the 50's. What a wonderful time to grow up, and I remember everything you are showing in your tour.
The 1950's was my favorite time period!! Heads up to you for keeping a time honored period alive!! If I could go back in time, that would be the period to do so!!
Thank you!
.
Bring us part 2!!!! Love your channel, youâve really helped me to find the confidence to start dressing more vintage so thank you. And to anyone else who is reading this, have a wonderful day
Iâve always been a fan of the 1950s utopia/suburbia life and the 50s nuclear family culture. Itâs one of the most fascinating things to me and it feels so surreal to look back on.
đŻ OMG - The Kitchen Turquoise Blue is like everyoneâs dream kitchen paint colour combination đ„Ł
Youâre doing such a great job, Laci Fay đ€ you bring a lot of joy to many of us particularly during these difficult times. Iâve been into vintage since I was a teenager and I can so relate to you through your videos. Keep rocking girl - you lift us all up with your videos - just want you to know the impact youâre having. Much love â€ïž
Thanks so much. That really means a lot to me to hear. â€ïžâ€ïž
I was born in '58 and that decade has always been my favorite period. Cold war tensions aside, you just can't beat the music, television & radio shows, fashion, space-age gadgets, optimism, architecture, you get the idea. Thank you, Laci, for inviting us into your fascinating home. One more thing: hats off to whoever was videoing this (your husband?). It was very smooth, no distracting jerky moves.
My grandma is moving in to my great grandmas house and there are TONS of old 1950s things there if you are looking
You need an aluminum Christmas tree it would complete everything!!!!
With bubble lights!
Emily DiCaprio Yes!!!!!!!!!
We had one. My Mom gave it away eventually. The real ones are expensive. I wish we had kept it now. I hated it because I loved the smell of a real tree.
@@verashular7378 I throw a couple away not to long ago on accident not really knowing what they where. Here I am a couple years later collecting them. My mom says my aunt used have a pink aluminum Christmas a long time ago.
If you get this tree, consider a ROTATING COLOR WHEEL (red, blue, green, yellow). A white light shines through the wheel. Then watch the AL tree change colors. I enjoyed seeing this as a kid.
I love how even some of your mannerisms are like bubbly and have a 50âs flair to them, itâs great lol. Also wow Iâm super unobservant apparently

i love your house! i love the aesthetic, the style, just everything. iâm more into the 80s aesthetic, but i wish people didnât make fun of me for wanting to experience the 80s. aside from that, you have some pretty awesome hair too.
Same but with 2000s!
I really admire you. I admire your beautiful style and I really love your confidence with both going out in public and inviting people into your house to see your passion of what you like. I also really love how much your husband supports your passion and your style. It also really makes me feel good that you donât force your actions onto your son and yet he still has support and admiration towards your actions unlike some parents who try to make their kids turn out exactly like them. You are such a beautiful woman and have such a beautiful home and I hope you continue getting all that luck and support â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Your home, your style, everything it's so fun!
she gets so hesitant when she says she has modern stuff . itâs okay girl , we all need things that are up to date so we donât have to go through confusing instructions. i love everything about your home, itâs so awesome. i wish i had a time machine to live back then.
edit: omg thank you laci , iâve became obsessed since i saw one of your videos â€ïžâ€ïž
I love how you have honored your family heritage and gifts from loved ones. You seem so grateful for all you have. That is lovely.
I just wanted to say that I love everything you do, itâs so positive and it makes me smile to see you and yo husband living the way you do with such joy
Everything about this reminds me of the movie Pleasantville. Love that movie.
Did you see Blast From the Past?
Yes, that is one of my all time favorites. Very fun movie to analyze!
One of my favourite movies
Damn your house looks amazing you must be proud of what you have collected for your house
The fact that they modified the old TV with a Smart TV on the inside was the cleverest solution they could come up with. Now they can watch all the modern channels with their vintage TV.
My mom is 82 and doesn't go near a computer. I know if I showed this to her, she would say, "Boy have I got a lot of junk for her!" She is still in the house I grew up in. My parents made due with hand me downs from their parents, first marriages, etc. She DOES have a LOT of your stuff. We had a sunburst clock in the dining room. She had the pole lamp by her sewing machine. The big pink chicken Pyrex bowl with handles was our popcorn bowl, and she has one of those Siamese cat statues on her dresser to this day. (It has plastic whiskers and is the color of butterscotch!) Oh, and the little statues with chains with two babies attached! It makes me very happy that when I do have to clean out her house some day, there will be people who will love and adore all her wacky old stuff. LOVED this video!
This is like walking through my childhood! Many memories. Love the dinette set. Ours was yellow too!
Even though I was born in 2005, I wish I could live in that time
I dont know how to describe it but it's better besides the rights thing, but I wont go into details.Everything is much cooler and looks vintage
I love your channel
I was born In 2003 and I have a soft spot for Vintage aesthetic. It really ads a character to the house and looks pretty Unique. Nowadays it looks cleaner and sleeker but kinda bland at the same time. I feel like no one should be afraid and forced to change the lifestyle as time flies. Sure some things donât last forever and change can happen but that doesnât mean the Vintage lifestyle canât last. It should be a option instead of being only for Boomers.
It's like you're a broadway star and right now you're in your golden years! This will be so nice when in the future, you look at yourself from the past and remember all those good times. I wish I could have seen the true 19s but I see them through you.
Awesome channel, something positive to watch in these dark days.
I absolutely adore every square inch of what we've seen so far. It reminds me so much of my grandmothers home. She too was a garage sale lover and furnished her home with beautiful items for little money. Can't wait for the rest of the tour. My favorite item was the stove. BTW I did find the strawberry and the lobster.
That makes me so happy to hear! Yes! A bargain hunter. I love it. Nice job!
I love the way you reinforce the original vintage aspects of your home, so many people usually just want to remodel, but you guys see and embrace the vintage charm. So rare.
Love this Laci. Thanks for sharing. JUst LOVE that vintage retro microwave oven. It really fits in your kitchen.
Youâre an inspiration, I love how you worked so hard for the style to be authentic and alive for yourself and In your house. I love the 1940âs & 50âs and I love to dress in that style. So youâre such a huge inspiration to me. đ

I have always found this time period to be fascinating. My family has multiple cars, trinkets, and objects from this era (personally, the cars are my favorite). I am so happy that you are able to live in such a cool house!
Oh, the furniture and decor reminds me so much of my Grandma, I miss her so much! I was able to inherit her great grandma's one of a kind hand carved maple wood table with black marble top. So gorgeous!
I think both you and your home are beautiful. I don't collect 50's things but have an apartment that is virtually all 19 century antiques. I admire your attention to detail and love seeing an almost complete recreation of the past. Keep going please!
Thank you for showing your home & for being yourself. You are to me, You are very happy & uplifting. You help me offset many of my daily experiences.
Oh my! I adore your home! Such elegance within; everything is truly beautiful and inspiring. As are you, Laci, to me! âĄâĄâĄ

I love your home! I was born 1959. But had family with some of the things you showed. Thank you for sharing! I look forward to seeing more!
My grandmother used to make those pillows and i remember her getting out a huge cutting board and making long pencil marks with her ruler and hand stitched it together. They were just beautiful and i could kick myself for not learning that skill!
My grandmother also! :) I realize this comment is old, but in case you get notifications, you can find instructions online -- just look for round pintuck pillow pattern. Best of all, they're not really hard to make!
guess am only one that did not like the 50s was in grade school. I thought cars and dresses and hair and clothes in general were ugly drab colored. dont get me wrong there were few good things I miss not much. In general as a women we didn't have enough say in things were more thought of as property. as far as jobs not many, not many went to college. you could be a waitress or work in office as secretary or a nurse. Maybe work in a store selling things. Many think that was a dreamy time did not live there it's like a cos play. you dont have the feeling of the era or worries of the time. or additudea of the time in which women were not as value except to cook and clean. and have kids. colors were crap the color palette at time were crap, now colors explode with brightness. Microwaves came to public in about 1972 or 3. that were near affordable. My friend and I got one then. Refrigerators did not self defrost lots of work for the housewife. I do enjoy life now wish was born in 80s or 90s. Nice house hope you enjoy it.
Your home is beautiful! I love the colors and you're so stylish, clean and meticulously neat.My kind of decorating!

Lovely home. I am so excited to see your downstairs and the canning kitchen !
Your house reminds me so much of ourâs that we lived in for over thirty years built in 1956. It had the same kind of fan over the stove. The same chrome handles on the cabinets too. We didnât have all your cool appliances though. Your hubby is such a sweetheart too.
We didnât have three kitchens either. My friend lived in a huge 1950s house with the cool basement canning kitchen and all the incredible build ins for pots, pans, and baking trays in the kitchen on the main floor.
You sure know how to put it all together so nicely.
Just wanted to say how much I admire you!

So cool! My momâs house was built in the late â50âs by the time I was in grade school we couldnât wait to tear it out! But, only later did I get to see it in itâs original stylistic context, your video is great it reminds me of my momâs house, and how amazing it mustâve been brand new. Much lovelier than I supposed before my 5siblings and about 4 dogs at a time got to it. The 50âs were a great era, America had more Wealth, optimism, less crime, more kids, which = greater joy in society back then, and family stability . We were more hopeful, and less jaded, you picked a good era to escape to.
I recognized a lot of your decor from our house growing up as a kid in the 50s, 60s. Thanks for sharing
