  • With the continued reemergence of the 10mm in popularity, a growing number of gun makers are releasing better pistols in this popular and powerful caliber. With the recent release of Smith & Wesson’s M&P 2.0 in 10mm, many now feel that this new offering by S&W may be the best of them all and could replace many Glocks on people’s sides as they head into the wilderness. So, is it truly a better option than the Glock 20 and 29? In this video we compare the three and show you out answer…

    Thanks for your video. The 10mm Auto is my favorite pistol cartridge.
    Having owned several Glock Gen3 pistols and one Gen4 pistol over the years, I've converted to the S&W M&P M2.0 line of pistols.
    Why? Simple. I prefer the M&P M2.0 pistols.
    For me, the M&P M2.0 pistols are easier to shoot well, they're much more ergonomic, they come with better sights, better triggers, better grip texturing, better grip angle (except for the 10mm Auto), standard rifled barrels, fully supported chambers, they're less expensive, I love having the option for an ambidextrous manual thumb safety (AMTS), and they're made here in the USA by American labor and an iconic American gun manufacturer.
    I never fired the gun with the OEM stock sights. Right out of the box, I installed a set of Trijicon Bright & Tough co-witnessing height tritium night sights, because I always put tritium night sights on all of my pistols. I've never had the problem of shooting low with these Trijicon sights.
    All that aside, I rented some M&P M2.0 pistols and shot them side-by-side against some of my Glock pistols:
    1. Glock 19 Gen3 vs. M&P 9 M2.0 4" Compact O.R.
    2. Glock 26 Gen4 vs. M&P 9 M2.0 3.6" Subcompact
    3. Glock 20SF Gen3 vs. M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" O.R. w/ AMTS
    In all three comparisons, I found the M&P pistols more comfortable in my hands and easier to shoot well.
    Long story short, all my Glocks have been sold, replaced by my M&P pistols.
    Good things! 👍

    have mine in 4.6" barrel and LUV it... I kept the tall sights but painted over the white dots with red in the rear and green in the front and it sure made a world of difference; i don't care for other optics other than iron sights....

    Great honest review. It’s the same impression I had. The grip is fantastic! I had the same result with a low group. My first time firing the M&P 2.0 was a 3 round group. All were 6 o’clock low, and Robin Hood with 2 of the 3. The trigger was awful compared to my 1006. Looking at the additional cost of getting low profile sights and trigger control group, I went with the XDM compact instead. I haven’t given up, and counting on S&W to improve these features, and hopefully introducing a true 10mm compact. Thank you for your assessment. 👍🏼

      My 4.6” was dead on elevation and about 2 inches left. Very consistent. I just need to drift my rear sight a smidge. But it’s good enough for consistent hits in a 6” group at 25 yards. I also have an optic on mine now which is the primary sighting system. I think the trigger is pretty good but I will be adding the apex trigger at some point. I do edc this pistol quite a bit aiwb, and I always take it camping, hiking, hunting etc.

    I own a 4.625 inch M&P 2.0 10mm and use optic height X/S steel tritium night sights on mine. Qualified using mine instead of using the 508T Holosun red dot mounted on it. No safety lever on mine.

      Yeah, possibly the worst "holster" I've ever seen, definitely an acquired taste. I love Hidden Hybrid. Having the nice backing of leather so the gun doesn't rub against my skin....or more importantly, I don't sweat all over the gun, which in Florida is simply going to happen without the right holster.

    Ha! My department also went to 1.0 9mm and they were absolute junk. So after 4 years of complaints, my department made S&W trade for 2.0’s straight across the board and that is a definite improvement. I 💙 my two M&P 2.0’s …in 9mm. However my M&P 10mm has reliability issues if it shoots anything heavier than 200 grains. I’ve lost faith and much rather prefer my Gen5 Glock 20 MOS for big game hunting.

    • @AZTrigger
      @AZTrigger  Před 11 měsíci

      Good points. I typically don't shoot above 200 grains due to the up-spring issues I used to run into with my Glocks. I will try a few 220 grain mags next time out and see if I run into the same issues. My previous use was limited to 180-200 grain rounds.

      You did not fire 10mm Auto ammo in a .40 S&W pistol. The longer 10mm Auto cartridge is too long for the shallow .40 S&W chamber. Your pistol would not go into battery.

      @stolnpckup
      You're saying you fired 10mm Auto cartridges out of your .40 S&W caliber pistol, those long 10mm Auto bullet cases fit the shallow .40 S&W barrel bullet chamber, and allowed your slide to go fully into battery?
      Do I have this right?
      The long 10mm Auto ammunition cases weren't sticking way out of your shallow .40 S&W barrel chamber?
      The pistol actually fired?
      The long 10mm Auto bullet cases were supported, despite the shallow .40 S&W caliber barrel bullet chamber?
      These 10mm Auto cartridges didn't explode?
      What am I misunderstanding?

    • @stolnpckup
      @stolnpckup Před 7 měsíci

      @jpg_sig10 yes, they actually fired. Slide back and inserted another round into the chamber. Since I saw that you can shoot 40 out of a 10. I figured. I would try it the other way around.
