I totally agree about the outside colour. Dreary is the word I would choose. I am so surprised they got away with it - not only does it not match but it brings down the entire tone of the surroundings. I was surprised there were no comments in the actual film about it
When will people learn that their "budget" has almost nothing to do with what a huge renovation will actually cost?? They need to learn how to project a realistic budget.
I find the grey a bit dark. Would have chosen a lighter shade. Probably would have chosen more of a sandy shade to be honest, to make it look warmer & more welcoming but then I'm probably just being boring.

The place is lovely but lacks in terms of colour, i think the outside would have looked charming in an off white and as for the inside too much gray and quite sparse. Needs perhaps a wall gallery of art work and some large indoor plants in the dining area.
9:30 ... the WOMAN carries 15 lbs of grocery to the house every week - from the local grocers. .. but the same WOMAN - can't carry a ... 5lb ... rubbish bin to the street !?
Maybe she shops and he takes out the rubbish is their division of labour. What's your problem? Also, women just don't like touching rubbish or anything dirty or smelly or slimy. So they'd prefer the man takes out the rubbish and men seem to prefer taking out rubbish to shopping, as a rule. Shopping for food is usually done in the morning or at least daylight hours; taking out the rubbish is often done at night or after dark, when there could be rats or other 'dangers' in the rubbish area. There is a lovely one about a sweet Scottish couple who convert a cave into a B and B in Andalucia. It knocks spots off this place, not because of the location, Brixham is great, but because they got it right decor wise. And they have genuine warmth, are obviously deeply in love and are realistic. Hate the wallpaper, hate the dark grey outside building colour , dinning area & outdoor very nice , bright ,modern.. but....rooms & front entrance hallway bland, boring decor ... doesn't have the WOW factor when you first enter ..pity they seem nice people
Definitely no warmth from the woman, l could count on one hand the times she smiled & dreadfully pretentious, walks into a shop "oooo it smells expensive" who says or thinks that? So many similar instances. Not hospitality material.

They got hit by red tape, but they won through and the place is stunning. Not like a crypt, even though it is a cave! Lol
As coming from abroad, with a partner originally from Devon, i love the grey, but hate the wallpaper! Otherwise lovely people, lovely view, gorgeous beach.
Hate the wallpaper, hate the dark grey outside building colour , dinning area & outdoor very nice , bright ,modern.. but....rooms & front entrance hallway bland, boring decor ... doesn't have the WOW factor when you first enter ..pity they seem nice people
Don’t know witch year it was but 150 House and there must’ve been a really good pipe dream
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
8:40 ... WOMAN - My ideas are great ... MAN - NO ; your ideas are STUPID - IF the building codes won't even allow us to do it.
Definitely no warmth from the woman, l could count on one hand the times she smiled & dreadfully pretentious, walks into a shop "oooo it smells expensive" who says or thinks that? So many similar instances. Not hospitality material.
Boring.
37:21 - Well, that's a Bit Embarrassing for a B&B hotelier, to be acting that way with guests!
Here in July 2023 - I'll be surprised if this couple are still together . . . . . . theres a very odd lack of affection, between them all the time ! - and tension in their rare closeness !
From glee to hotelier
Hey, as long as she doesn’t mind living with a guy who doesn’t love her and sees her as more business partner, more power to them.
I sense some love there...
Just not sure how he communicates with her...
@@mangoyacho Me too. The communication is ish....
I keep having to remind myself that “pounds” may be more than in US dollars cuz all of this sounds SUPER CHEAP!!!
A review from your best friend is obviously totally impartial…….not!
Madness!….40k a year income…..that’ll take them 16 years just to break even assuming they don’t spend a penny for 16 years!!….thats £150k a room, bargain.
Yup, half a million £ spent but can’t fry an egg properly ….sad really
My big concern is why are British people eating beans cooked in a tomato base for breakfast?
Why do Asian people eat rice with meat for breakfast? Why do Americans put maple syrup on their bacon for breakfast? Why do Scots put salt on their porridge? All of these could be considered as just as weird.
We are only getting to know each other . After 3 years 😮 .. plus is this a show about a hotels or relationships ? How many times did we here the couple never lived together 👎👎👎👎👎👎
Why can't SHE take out the rubbish?
Surely not ketchup in a plastic bottle- greasy spoon.
A snob, getting it all wrong at breakfast. I love fruit, cheese, home made artisan bread and super filter coffee. NOT THE FULL ENGLISH.
Omg from the outside a real blot on the landscape. The woman has no warmth or likability. Prestentious! He is far more amenable. However, after he has taken a risk I hope it's a success. All that (fake) snobbery I couldn't bear. Only toffs can carry it off.
Not my cup off tea but then we not all the same
The implications of driftwood as a hotel name aren't great. I do love a boutique adult only hotel though.
Absolutely. I avoid children like the plaque.
Horrible color for the outside of the building....otherwise it's very nice.
Haven't used a bath for over 25years,waste of space.
9:30 ... AMERICANS don't put up with CRAp like this !!! ... " If I need the rubbish taken out - I need to ask a MAN to do it for me" ... Your arms work just as well as his ... WHY CAN"T YOU TAKE OUT THE RUBBISH .. instead of thinking that you are too high & mighty to "lower yourself" to take out your own USED TAMPONS to the street rubish bin. - I need a MAN to do this for me . ... !?
thats a lot of money. you could have spend half in bali....
Btw the prices in those so called "interior design" shops are absolutely absurd. Extortionate! I've been there and bought nothing. Please stop saying Wow all the time. Such an overused ridiculous word. Childish word.
Wow!!! Sorry it's my choice no-no ridiculous and childish word. This woman has flights of fancy.
The mother and daughter both have same annoying habits.
such a shame her daughter ruined her looks at such a young age
Too many injections Im afraid.
