Thank you so much for taking the time to read my email and respond with this outstanding video!
fantastic video - full of many excellent pieces of lore around a great topic. thank you so much!
Wonderful video! Transmigration of souls has always reminded me of how science tells us that energy can be changed from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed. One of those moments where I feel science and spirituality speak the same thing. I love it. This is why when I die, I want to be cremated and have one of those eco-urns with a tree seed inside, versus a grave, so I can lend my energy to a sycamore (my fave tree). Thank you for sharing!
Wonderful examples from lore, it's one thing to hear about the soul moving through different cycles in irish paganism, another to have the context it was in.
Thank you for this video! The wooing of Etain has been one of my favorite stories for a very long time. What's transmigration of spirits as Gaeilge?
Thanks for sharing; take care đ„ †đ
Re: the rĂ©amhscĂ©alta-would the 3x birth of CĂșchulainn also kind of fall into this category of transmigration of souls, or is that a different case study entirely? Great video Jon, and thanks for these excellent examples!
The Birth of CĂș Chulainn is an interesting one alright. It forms one of the core aspects of identifying a classical hero in that they all have some mystical element to their birth...but oddly enough Setanta gets not one but Three which should make him super special. Yet for me fact that the one that eventually sticks is neither of the supernatural births, but the mundane one, is most interesting.
Of course we're not just dealing with a normal transmigration here as we have Lugh directly involved, and lets face it, deity meddling is top tier meddling.
I would say for anyone interested everything is worth studying, but I would personally take the CĂș Chulainn tale as a unique case on its own. - Jon
That was a really good question. Thank you Jon for explaining it đđ»
