Dave leaving was the biggest tragedy of the entire show. He is literally THE BEST guy on Gilmore Girls, and he is waaaay more deserving of Lane than that man-baby Zach. I’m honestly so mad they wrote him out. I’m sure if the actor didn’t leave for OC Dave and Lane would have been endgame. I’ll fight anyone who comes at me.
Dave and Lane were perfect for each other. He was crazy for her from the moment he met her. She loved him too. Zach was likeable, but not right for Lane.
I know it was inevitable that Adam Brody had to leave so we could get the OC. But I honestly would have preferred if the show did a lame recast (complete with the “Dave you looked different, did you get a haircut?” wink wink moment at the audience) than having Lane end up with Zach. Lane and Dave were meant to be.
I dont understand why the writers put Zack and lane together over lane and Dave. I liked Zack, but I think Dave and Lane were a better fit. They loved each other so much since the beginning, and they should've ended up together in the end.

I just can't believe they wrote off Dave just like that. Like Dave worked so hard to get Mrs Kim's approval. I was looking forward to see them dating and be together and literally since then Dave was gone?? They didn't even show Dave taking Lane to the prom, I was so upset. How I wish Adam Brody did not go to another show, I mean at least let Dave and Lane be together.
I even would’ve preferred Brian over Zack for Lane, lmao. Brian was nicer and thoughtful like when he wanted to name a song after Lane because Lane felt left out (well, I think that was what Lane was feeling, I can’t really remember). Or maybe that guy that was doing laundry and Rory tried to hit on him but he rejected her, he probably would’ve had the same interests as Lane. If Dave had stayed obviously he would’ve been the first choice.
