  • Din Tai Fung are known worldwide for their Xialongbao (soup dumplings)
    They have recently opened the first Din Tai Fung Dumpling Bar in the world at Westfield Sydney Level 5 and it is a sight to behold.
    The process of making their dumpling is highly specialised and can be witnessed first hand as they are made right in front of you.
    There is also an art to eating their Xialongbao which Dendy Sjahada explains to you in this piece.
    We hope you enjoy the Din Tai Fung story on Food Wine Dine.

    The flour dough mix is what makes them taste so awesome. The right amount of it with the stuffing.

    first time i ate at din tai fung was when they first opened in arcadia, california. we went there for dinner about 2-3 times and was blown away by the pork dumplings. i never liked the crab as much. at that time they didn't have many customers. and then people caught on. each time we went thereafter it became harder and harder to get a table in a timely manner. one day, they started handing out handwritten numbers on torn paper but you could still wait inside. the time after, you could only wait outside. then the wait grew to over an hour. it continued to grow faster and faster and now it's a phenomenon all over the world. haven't eaten there for a few years now, due to moving around where they don't have restaurants but i'll be back there again at some point. i can still taste the pork dumplings with thinly sliced ginger and black vinegar. love that place!

    Din Tai Fung's Silicon Valley branch in California is a great place to enjoy affordable Taiwanese food. Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao is one of my favorites from their menu!

    Фарш на вид не жидкий, они прям вдавливают его, а сколько бульона в нем готовом, это удивительно! Хочу попробовать

    I am a little confused, if the dough is 5 grams don't you think 16 grams of fillings is too much? Am I missing something?

    • @SageWangAdventures
      @SageWangAdventures Před 7 lety +2

      The dough should be as thin as possible(but not breaking), the purpose is just to hold the soup and filling, if you ever had some thick wrapped, that's not good xiaolongbao. You don't want to taste the dough.

    My name is Hector Hernandez. I used to work here in Glendale, CA. the managers are very racist against latinos. I eventually left due to the misconduct of these managers "Erin" with out filing a law suit.

      and trust me guys, half of the staff is either high on crystal of drunk. lol.
      please don't believe this exact 5 grams on the dough and stuff. I think that's the owner's son talking on this video too.
