    Why put the knife in foil and why in dry ice? I've watched lots of knifemakers and this is new to me. (Only seen cryogenics with swords.)

    • @BarbershopCustoms
      @BarbershopCustoms  Před 4 lety

      The foil serves the purpose of preventing the steel from decarbunization. The cryo heat treatment helps change retained austenite into martensite which results in a harder steel ;)

    THIS WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER BUSH-CRAFT KNIFE IF THE BLADE WERE NOT THE SAME WIDTH IN ITS straight-blade part. In other words, if it had a slight cut-out, "belly" to it, about 1/2 of the way back. Other knives have this and are easier seen than me explain it. What this does is let the wielder cut and shave wood better, with the recessed belly, than with a 100% straight blade. See? Although these are maybe the best knives I have ever seen.
