AI companies did very unethical thing by training their models on people's data. Photos, youtube videos, music recordings, podcasts, social media posts, written books, news articles - these assets all have authors and these authors didn't consent to participate in creation of systems that can: 1) do potentially dangerous fakery 2) replace real people at some jobs Regulations, bans and fines should have been implemented to prevent all this madness, to make distribution of such models and related services illegal. There's a line between progress and harm and even though that line is quite wide, it was crossed without doubt.
Did authors of all these consented for you to use them in becoming an artist? Did you asked for permission? There is no copy in ai models of a single art piece. It lerns patterns of what art is just like you by watching what other people did before. Unless you didn't and you still make cave paintings
