    Noob here. But what is the reason for the dolly? I always thought it was so the weight wasn’t directly on the prime mover.

      50t is a pretty big load on NZ residential streets. The more rubber, the wider the load spread.

      Yeah sort of right. You still need some weight over the prime mover drive axles or it will have no traction. The idea of the dolly is to distribute excess weight onto more axles. In this case it is also over a wider distance and over more tyres so as not to concentrate too much weight over a small section of road and more importantly bridges.
