Don't ever question that what you do isn't worth it or isn't making a difference. U encourage people all across the world with your knowledge about gardening and plants, your enthusiasm, your down-to-earth and incredibly sweet personality, and your beautiful family. We all get gardening know-how from you, but even if we didn't, just watching your videos allows us to slow down, take a few minutes, and just breathe. Watching your vids is one of the highlights of my day. Thank you both! 😍
Ditto. I noticed several encouraging comments read aloud thanks to Aaron’s selection! Sweet hubby, you two are a sweet team. Laura, everyone who is Garden Answer, y’all are great!
Ditto what Tina said!!!
"Remember this is a process, and we all have to step back and be okay with the fact its going to take time to build that mature space."
*me returning from my third garden center haul that day* 👀😅
Yes Aaron I would love to see a video about the drip system. I’ve been wanting to get one but they seem to be a little pricey and can’t afford to get one and not like it. So yes please I need help. Also love to see little Benjamin in your videos. He’s so cute I think he needs to be in more. Thanks for everything that you guys do it is greatly appreciated. 💕💕💕🌸🌸🌸

I just checked and Laura has a few videos on drip irrigation.
@@mbbuckeyes8386 Not this detailed
Yes! Please, Aaron make a video to help us benefit from all you have learned. I am trying timers this year in 6 zones. I have the. Set to start early in the am. What hours of the day do you water? I know that the heat of the day is supposed to make watering a large waste of the water due to evaporation What have you experienced? I don’t water between about 11:00 am and 5:00 pm.
@@Oldebookworm I have my sprinklers set for 6am as it is best to water in the morning.
Arron teach us drip, irrigation, and sprinklers please. We just moved into our new retirement home and my wife is itching to put me to work. Thank you !
I 2nd this! I have the basics down, our whole property is set up on drip but I could use something a lot more in depth. We havent tackled sprinklers yet.
Yes, please for a smaller area from the hose spigot.
We need a drip video! I just bought my first house, and would love to start putting drip in as I create my flower beds!
@@carlaradke4066 yes, from a house spigot to a relatively small shade garden.
@@Graycat1735 Found the Melnor 3280 4 port but it is out of stock everywhere.
Aaron making an irrigation 101 video... sign me up for that! I’ve completely set up our home on drip, installed a Hoselink, and we have well water and a septic tank. 👍👍
I am in my 70s and I found that my hands are not as strong as I would like them to be and putting a drip system together was almost impossible for me............ UNTIL.... I saw a video that suggested having a cup of boiling water and you put the tubes into the water for a few seconds And then they will push right into the connections. That has made it so much easier! Love your videos
The connections are hard on the hands at all ages! I have always used a lighter to heat the end of the tubing slightly. It is easy and quick. Keep gardening :)
The hot sun helps as well. I’m developing a great callous on my thumb!
I have the same problem. I find it hard to keep the water hot enough when working outside. I’ve found that heating the tubing a little bit with a Bic lighter works well.
David Austin's son, also David Austin Jr. has collaborated with his father for decades along with his grandson Richard Austin. So I think David Austin roses will continue to bloom for generations to come.
I notice I lot of the roses look pretty much the same.
Not
When you say you fertilize now on Mondays can you do a quick video on this? Maybe even your M-F routines like weeding, ordering, planning, behind the scenes peeks, and editing?
YES! To Aaron’s irrigation video. I’m trying to set up a new system off of a large rainwater harvesting system on a 2.5 acre property. Any of his knowledge would be tremendously helpful!
I have been considering this type of thing too but have been stumped on how to pump water from the reservoir. I’m happy to hear that you’re doing it! Sorry I can’t offer any help! Only encouragement!!
How much water storage do you have? Curious for similar situation at our place.
Miranda Beaudry I’m doing a 3000 gallon tank. We average around 40 inches of rain a year but have very hot summers, mild winters and seem to skip over spring and fall...so I should have plenty of water for the entire property. I plan to use a well pump with a pressure tank to get the water out of the reservoir and keep the pump from working too much.
Drew Bittel yeah you’ll have plenty of water for sure! Looks like the scale of water mgmt is very different than my scenario but it’s still nice to see how people tackle solutions! Thanks for the input!
Here is a compliment: I am a first year gardener that was oh so inspired by your tulip planting I planted a few hundred in my front yard. Last week I posted on social media that I was so happy to make my neighbors happy when little did I know we would be doing Shelter in Place and the racial division going on, I was so happy to make my neighbors smile. One neighbor replied and said she took photos and brought the photos to her 85 year old grandmother that she provides care for and grandma loved them. That was the most beautiful thing I could have read. Thanks Laura!!!!!!
Love this! Seeing beautiful plants is for everyone
I love these recaps weekly. I could listen to you forever. You and Arron are so interesting. Thanks for sharing and always being "real" in your videos.
I want an irrigation 101 class.
This may be a good start:

Please Aaron share drip and sprinkler wisdoms with us!
Agreed!! We are about to try putting irrigation to my raised veggie beds and flower beds and it would be so helpful!!
I agree! Would love to learn more from you!
Aaron! Aaron! Aaron! My husband and I would love to hear your drip wisdom😃
Please Aaron - We need your wisdom :)
I'd be happy with just a snippet of a few things, particularly the connection from the PVC pipe in the ground. What comes next for the drip?
Yes please Aaron! Do an irrigating video. The water system is my garden nemesis; seems like every spring/summer I have to do something over 😟

I NEED a video on drip systems! PLEASE...
Yes we need Aron on a video.
Yes I'd like
I love when Aaron and Laura are together in the videos! So fun to watch!!
Aaron an irrigation video would be soooooo helpful
We've recently moved to a new property and our sprinklers are a mess and we don't know where to begin as far as fixing them.
I had a similar problem and ended up Googling and calling the company. Finally, decided to put the flower beds on their own irrigation system (which I learned from Laura). I followed this video:
czcams.com/video/9eGo_29-oXM/video.html
Aaron doing a video on irrigation systems would be an absolute lifesaver! It’s so overwhelming for me that it’s stopping me getting it set up.
Every morning my 2 yr old daughter and I cook breakfast and sit at the table and we always watch your latest episode together. She even says “mama lets watch show” and it’s the cutest. Even though I’m very aware this relationship is through youtube, I do feel like you both are good friends of ours now :)
I absolutely love these recap videos! They are the perfect thing to put on in the morning with a coffee, or at night before bed. Thanks for all you do!
Come on Aaron, we all need help with installing drip lines.
I would love to see Aaron do a video on drip irrigation. We are setting up our first this summer and aren't sure what to do. That would be so much appreciated 😊

I was like “I know how they met”! And then I realize I watch this channel a lot
Ha! Same 😂
Yep, me too lol
Yup
Has Laura ever mentioned how she and Aaron met? It would be fun to hear their story too.
They met at church were Aaron's dad is the pastor.
You know you've been watching this channel for YEARS when you know all of those back stories! Love you guys. Long time viewer xo
That was fun to have Aaron grab the questions and have you answer them unprepared. I felt like we got more thorough answers from you, if that makes sense. 😊
Thank you for continuing to let people know that you hand weed. So many members on the gardening groups I belong to seem to think that they can start a garden and not weed. I believe that Weeding is part of gardening and if you don’t want to weed you shouldn’t try gardening. I would love to see a video where you perform the weekly maintenance on one bed.
Aaron, please, please, please do a video on what you’ve learned/experienced with your irrigation system.
Aaron we would love a thorough introduction to the drip system. I’ve been wanting to set up a system but haven’t taken the leap. Would love to learn some of the early mistakes you made and what you would choose to do differently.
czcams.com/video/9eGo_29-oXM/video.html
We want a drip tube video!! Please. I’m struggling right now 😅 Mostly with the grid situation and pressure situation. And when to use what size tubing. Also I just kind of wanted to say I love the weekly recap videos!

These evening uploads are great. I get to have coffee twice a day with you guys now 😆
Right, I have to give a second look lol
I would love to see Aaron do an equipment video on your cameras, mics, and everything technical! 🙏🏻
Laura you crack me up! You are sentimental for your lamp posts but could pawn your wedding band for more plants 🤣🤣 love it! You guys just make my day♡
Yes, please Aaron! A video about drip irrigation setup would be soooooooo helpful!
Regarding the snakes, if they are garden snakes they are HARMLESS! Please don’t kill them! In fact garden snakes are a sign of a healthy garden ecosystem. They help keep bug populations under control. I get so discouraged when I hear about people killing their garden snakes. It’s good for the garden and they are harmless, and they also tend to stay really small!
A huge shout-out to you for saying this, I was thinking the same thing! Thank you so much for posting this comment! Happy gardening! Theresa
My yard us full of garden snakes. I agree they are harmless so I just let them have their way. I just have to be careful when I mow.
Snakes are soo beneficial for your garden ecosystem, and they "patrol" my yard and garden spaces. Never had a mouse in my house in the fifteen years we have lived here. They freak me out, like Laura said, but I name each one, so they are not so scary. The big black snake who visits every morning is Corona!
Corrie Donovan - Soprano agree don’t kill snakes! In Australia a lot of our snakes we find in our garden are very venomous as most have been pushed out of their natural habitat due to suburban development. For us here, even when in doubt about their venom, they actually need to be professionally removed. They are then released back into the wild. No harm comes to them then.
@@TheCelesteMorales Isn't Austrailia the snake capitol of the world? You guys have to know what you are dealing with. 😊
And Laura, please know that after watching these videos my yard has transformed into something spectacular. I’ve gained so much knowledge. Thank you both for all you do.
Yes ! Aaron pls pls do the one big irrigation system video so we can learn more about it. This year i finally setup the drips system but I was went through few videos to finally understant how to do the whole setup. Also, if possible pls show your "video room" setup so we can learn how to organize . Super thanks.
GroBucket is a self-watering insert sold that I use and they use the dowel & cork for water level. (Edited to add: I just looked on Amazon and they now use a label holder and plastic water indicator stick now on the water reservoir. The ones I bought in early Spring had a cork on the bottom of a dowel with painted indicator lines. They have worked fine for me so something similarly constructed for using in your Aquapots would work I would think.)
I bought two large self watered containers from Gardner’s Supply that have the stick and cork in the fill tube - it works pretty well.
Yes Aaron needs to do an irrigation video! 😁👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I so enjoy your you tube videos. You are so true and lovely. You made me want to see everything. Your whole family and fur babies are great. I love your answers and how you explain everything. Thank you so much for all your time. I’ve learned so much from you. Have an awesome day.
Hahaha I haven't watched this video yet but I'm laughing so hard... I thought it read HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR PARENTS instead of How did your parents meet? I just woke up 😂🤣😂
It's so funny how she mentioned that you call it formal and add thistles etc. I just mentioned to my hubby how you mix formal with chaos and you make it blend so well.
A video every day and you feel slow!!! Oh my sweet girl! Lol. And YES AARON! We need a water video please (but really a small series would be better)
Yes please Aaron!!!!! Would love a video(s) on irrigation. We have a system that was designed for lawns and I would love to hear your opinion about how to add more zones for flower beds.
Laura, yo! "Juxtaposition!" Wow! English teacher speaking here. Impressed! You go, GF!
Yeah, this English major was pretty impressed with "juxtaposition" too. LOL
**has an actual heart attack that Laura picked my question**
Same! She picked my question last week and I was SO excited.
She answered one of mine and I was super excited too!!!
Omg she picked mine last week and I got a little misty-eyed!! 😂
I hope you didn't literally have a heart attack. Be careful you will make Laura afraid to say your name and answer your questions. I'm kidding but still.
Me too! Lol Called my husband at work I was so proud 😂
Coffee and recap video, perfect way to start my Tuesday ❤️
I see comments of you one day moving and I’m like why would you ever move from that beautiful house
Aaron you should! Honestly the best time to do a video would be the whole process of setting up drip for the new property! 😁 The convenience of a irritation system is something the majority of us want for our own garden after watching ya’lls videos, it would be extremely helpful if you did a video.
Aaron, please do an Irrigation video! It would be so useful!
czcams.com/video/9eGo_29-oXM/video.html
If you have swallows (the birds, house martin swallow) in your area, you could attach a row of at least 2-4 round nest boxes under the eaves. And with a bit distance a board under it for the excrements. The swallow look very pretty when the fly so fast and they have often problems to find material for natural nest-building.
Yes! Please Aaron. 🙏🏼 A video about irrigation system would be awesome!!!
Yes....Aaron please irrigation video! I know you are both so busy but my husband is a show me guy and I’ve been begging for drip! And thank you both for the education.... I have been gardening my whole adult life, but I have learned more from this channel than any other gardener I have followed. 💕💕🌹
Wow Aaron .... you could save me a lot of time and frustration ..... I will say that I have beds that are as much as ten feet apart and that I live in central Ohio so that we do get a freeze or two ... so will need to know how to prepare for that ..... Thank You for all of the hard work that you and Laura do ..... I am sure that it is rewarding for both of you .... However do know that Garden Answer is a God sent for many of us ..... Hugs ..... Shirlene
I just use a dipstick for my self watering troughs. I tried it out first before planting up, cut a notch where the high fill came to and keep it tucked behind the end trough so I don’t lose it 😉
What does this lipok like? Cannot visualize. Good you found a method!
Yes please do a series on irrigation. I am going through that learning curve and it is a struggle. I’ve tried to rope my husband into helping me to no avail.
Hi Laura....I have found a new lifeline with your garden videos. I stumbled upon your videos when I was looking for orchid care tips few weeks ago and I can say im hooked. Its become a everyday routine for me to watch your videos when im back home from work. Find the videos so informative but mostly truly relaxing and calming...almost like I am gardening with you. Stay blessed.
I stumbled upon Garden Answer one evening when looking for a garden/gardening video because "wandering" (virtually albeit) through gardens puts my heart at peace and I could ALWAYS need help falling asleep ESPECIALLY with all the insanity in the world/nation these days. I have been an AVID fan of Laura/Aaron/Benjamin/Russell/Cheddar AND your whole property ever since. I look forward every day to seeing what new project you have cooked up (your cooking sections aren't bad either). I am not a gardener (black thumb I think cause I kill plastic plants), but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a beautiful garden and I love to virtually get lost on your property and just enjoy all your wonderful creations. I have learned so much from you.
@@gracereeves8964 ....for fear of being judged didnt want to add that I feel so relaxed that I also doze off ( and I mean in a good way). Great to know that some one shares my sentiments too...😁
PLEASE do an irrigation video! I wasted about $100 on the wrong stuff this spring. I want to expand my landscape but just can't keep it watered unless I get a proper irrigation system set up. I NEED A VIDEO!! 😁
I finally built a 3x6 raised bed this year and I used 6 "H cement blocks" at the corners to hold two 12 inch height redwood planks together which made it 24 in deep. The blocks are easy to find (got mine at home depot) and super inexpensive. It works SO WELL. While it still required a few screws for four 2x4s nailed to the inside (stability) and two 2x6s, two 2x3s for the top railings, it was so fast and required ZERO wood cutting etc. Also nice because If I ever move, I CAN TAKE IT ALL WITH ME! Sorry landlord but you dont get to keep my garden stuff. HEHE.
After building it, it was a little larger than a 3x6, more like 4x7 with the H cement blocks, so if you do this project, keep that in mind!
Also, I JUST BOUGHT 2 David Austin roses in 2 quart containers! Cant wait to get them!
Yes, Aaron, please show us your irrigation, water and sprinkling knowledge. Thx in advance.
She's not a collector of plants. She's a curator.
Yes it would be awesome if Aaron would do an irrigation video. Even something as simple as setting a new area up from a hose bib. My small home doesn’t need a huge advanced system so something simple to start would be beneficial!
Never get tired of irrigation videos.
I love the Linden trees. I live about an hour from Longwood Gardens here in Pennsylvania and in the fountain garden they have a one of the pathways lined either side with them, they smell so good and the bees just LOVE them. Oh goodness I can't wait for Longwood to open back up...
Laura. I loke the recap videos equally to more as the daily videos. It's a great connection to.tour viewers and you share so much educational information. I was a solid gardener for 20 years, but this year thanks to watching you daily during quarantine, my landscape is off the charts. (Ample time and lots of plant shopping didn't hurt either!)
Love everything you do!!
Yes please please for the drip lines and irrigation systems

Yes!!! Aaron, PLEASE do an irrigation video! I know you don’t enjoy it, but we would be SOOO grateful! It’s one of the things that I really struggle with. Irrigation makes gardening so much easier, but it so far out of the realm of experience for many gardeners! PLEASE!! 🥺
I found your Channel a couple years ago. It has definitely improved my garden. I didn't know anything about drip irrigation before you started showing it in your videos. I currently run off 1 outdoor faucet. The first year, my husband kept turning the faucet off but I think I have him trained now. I would LOVE to have Aaron do a drip irrigation video for us. 😊😊😊

Yes Aaron! Please do a video on drip and sprinklers! Would love to hear all you’ve learned over the years. Would also love to hear if you have any recommendations for other types of soils/climates compared to yours. I’m in Austin with clay soil and more humidity and a little concerned about overwatering, but’s it’s so hot as of this week, not too worried. Lol. Just started watching your channel and gardening in the landscape this year. I’ve added 8 flower beds in addition to tweaking the 2 existing beds at my new house since watching your channel, and I’ve added drip everywhere. Want to tackle sprinklers next year. Not much grass left at this point. :) Thank you so much for helping me in my gardening journey! I can’t imagine doing this without your channel.
Thanks. Learn so much from these Q&As.

YESSSSS!!!!! Irrigation video please!!!! Yay Aaron! And I love everything you do, Laura! I love watching all of the videos and I truly appreciate you and Aaron sharing with us every day! Benjamin, Russell and Cheddar are delightful bonuses which make me smile each and every time! 🧡😽😽
The float system as a water level indicator you spoke of is part of the self watering pot reservoirs that convert regular pots into self watering. They are available through Gardeners Supply. Very reasonable and work on different size pots. A great alternative if the beautiful ceramic pots from Proven Winners aren’t available locally.
Dear sweet Jes, you also have a friend right here in the UK too! What a lovely gesture to write and sing a song to give thanks for all the blessings that come your way. Keep on doing your own sweet thing please because the world is a much better place with you in it! Thank you xx
Yes, yes, yes! Aaron, please put together a video highlighting the many things that you have learned during your installation and utilization of irrigation! I know it will be daunting, but Oh! so appreciated!! I am desperate for irrigation, and have at least a couple of acres that will, Lord willing, eventually be included. We are on a well, we have a pond, but we haven't a clue how to best utilize them. Thank you so much!
Thank you for Tuesday recap of the previous week videos. I have been learning a lot from you and the questions people ask you. You have a wonderful unconditional love for sharing your garden knowledge you've accumulated over the years. I'm always looking forward to your next new video. God bless you and your family.
I don't think I could walk away from the espalier pear tree! I am absolutely infatuated with espalier. Early this spring I purchased 2 apple whips and a fig tree to train. Lots of time, effort and, most of all, patience. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it.
Inspired by you we purchased the elegant drip system from Proven Winners. It is elegant, but slightly finicky. I am dependent on my husband’s aptitude for detail regarding this system. Previously we had a single hose drip....easy but wasn’t able to support the needs of multiple water level needs. So,I definitely recommend even i our very very small garden something simple that you can support zones of watering needs.
Timer again, thank G o d for my awesome husband. Our timer is computer bound and geeky. My husband needs to care for this, plant saving tool.
Your videos are LIFE! I love your content and have learned soooooo much! Keep it up!
Yes! A drip system video from Aaron would be awesome! Especially when the yard also has an existing sprinkle system.
An irrigation video would be awesome and very helpful. I'm just starting to convert my garden to drip and any tips would be gratefully appreciated. I've watched every irrigation video you've made several times, too. Thank you for all of the wonderful content. You both are inspirations and I have never enjoyed gardening more since I found your channel in August 2019. Congratulations!
Yes, video from Aaron!!! That would be SO helpful!!
Thank you to both of you for all of your hard work. It has made a HUGE difference in my garden and the aesthetics of my home. I am grateful for you guys! 😊👍💕
Thank you! I love these videos! Yes, irrigation is a great topic and responsible water use in a garden is very important. I think it would be amazing to get good information from a trusted source.
Just love all your videos, makes me happy to watch every morning! I do have a question, how do you fertilize every week? I don't remember seeing this process and I can't wrap by head around how you manage to do that. Any chance you can do a video?
Amme Mahler search garden answer fertilizer. They have several but one shows how they have a tank trailer set up to do the weekly fertilizing.
Yes, would love a video from Aaron about irrigation! It is so intimidating to me to think of starting a drip system. A video would be so helpful!
I enjoy learning about plants from you and your family. I especially like the editing that shows 2 of you!
I LOVE my little black pot feet I got from Amazon. They are the same that you popped up on the screen. Can’t see them at all and are exactly the right size/height.
Also these recap videos are my favorite! I like to listen to them when I’m cleaning (it makes the cleaning process less painful 😉). I feel like I always learn so much from them.
Yes! Aaron we would love that! I was there last year for the field trip and he took several of us around your garden and showed us some in and outs of the irrigation and it was so helpful. He seemed like a natural teacher, I’m a little shocked he doesn’t want to do any videos. I’d also love to see what all he does for the grass during the year.
Irrigation video please Aaron!! ❤️❤️
Laura, you’re so inspirational. I’ve recently bonded with a few coworkers through our love and gardening and found out that we all also watch you!
your videos are the first one I watch in the morning, you make my day so sweet, thanks for what you and Aaron do.
I love your idea of the cork and dowel regarding the water level of the pots. Thank you.
There's no way to express how much we appreciate all your efforts and all that you do in a week! Best thing since sliced bread for those of us who always wanted to garden but didn't have the confidence! THANK YOU!!
A video on drip systems would be wonderful. Be sure to include information for small spaces like raised beds.
Please do a video on drip. We are about to get a sprinkler expansion and we would love some of your knowledge!
