- Hey friends!! In today's episode, we go for the FIRST DRIVE in Project Beef; my 2001 Porsche Carrera 4 with a freshly, fully rebuilt M96 engine that has been converted from the original 3.4L displacement to 3.8L, along with several other BEEF CAKE internal upgrades.

Haha, the insta smile on your face when doing the carefull pulls.
Well deserved after all the good work, just imagine after the break-in when you can fully push the car on your favourite roads.
Happy for you, keep up the good stuff!
Thanks Erwin! Haha yes, those first pulls were such a great feeling.
Hell yes! Let us know your total costs. I want to do the same with mine but the cost could be an issue over a 2.7T.
Agreed! Interested in the same comparison
Rest assured, cost analysis video is coming in the next few weeks!

I look forward to it!
Super stoked for you! Can't wait to hear those redline pulls!!
Thanks!! Hehe saaame. Next week!
Awesome video, definitely love the enthusiasm when you feel the extra torque.
Thank you!!
I'm not sure who's more excited you or me for the full break-in procedure to be completed for you to be able to give it the beans. Interested in seeing what's in the oil filter after the break-in dance is done. Surely there will be a dyno video to see the "real" numbers. Data is always interesting, to compare the numbers from a 3.6 to 3.8L. Is the feeling of more torque come from "More Torque" or the fact it's been 6 months since you've last beat the snot out it and felt the 6 cylinders of fury?
haha I'm glad you're super excited for the initial full pulls as well! I assure you, regardless of the time between drives of this car, I've owned it for years and it is truly much faster. Thanks for watching and for being excited along with me about this project! It has certainly been a fun one.
Sounds great
Thanks!
David, Project Beef was a huge success. The motor sounds incredible. Are you running stock exhaust? It sounds way better than mine. Also, if you do a 1,500 mile trip going west on I-70 or I-80, please let me know. I’ll meet you with my car.
Thanks Kurt!! It’s the stock headers and cats, but I’ve removed the mufflers and installed the “muffler bypass” tips.
That would be a solid way to knock out some break in miles, I’ll let you know!
