3:54 “studying the world is my other side”
he is an all rounder, a renaissance man, a genius
“Do you wanna tell people to give 24 y/o a break?”
“No you can handle yourselves” 😂😂
The maths kid verbalizes the process so well. Even though I’m doing it instantaneously, that’s precisely what I’m doing to add 7 to 17.
To me, and ot always has been this way since I was a little person, the answer just appears in my head against a certain "black", like when a firework happens in the nightsky, ot just somehow appears 😅
@@illeatthatI don’t if you’re aware of this or not, but that’s pretty much identical to how autistic savants describe their process, so if you didn’t know this already you may be a savant.
That's so interesting! I study engineering and I would still go in my head, "Ok 17 plus 3 is 20 and then there's 4 left so 24."
2:15 - I love a young child that owns their diagnosis and embraces it.
@@badgerboy4448eh it's actually better that a child knows. It's not about labels. It's about understanding. And kids can be smart enough to understand :) Think about it like this: There's nothing wrong with having autism or ADHD, thus there's nothing wrong with a child knowing that they have it. Children can be smart, and them understanding their diagnosis can aid them in understanding themselves better. Like the boy said - he gets mad easily and he might not have understood why he finds it more difficult to regulate his emotions (compared to a child w/o) if he didn't know his diagnosis. A child misunderstanding themselves because of not knowing things about their own self does more harm than good, which is why it's beneficial to tell the kid to help them understand themselves. Plus, he can explain to people who misunderstand him when he faces challenges that come along with ADHD and autism.
@@badgerboy4448I thought the same. If you give a kid a label the kid will identify with it so much that could actually develop a problem just based on having a had a strong identification with it since childhood.
@@divinadroidI understand what you're saying. But as an autistic myself, I see so many other autistics using their diagnosis to excuse their behaviour and not doing anything to improve themselves or not looking for help. I guess it depends of how a person see their diagnosis and if they do something about it. Many believe they're the way they're and everyone else have to adapt to them, because Autism isn't something bad ... But you know, I have both ADHD and autism and they both have affected me a lot my whole life and it's not only because of everyone else around me, so I do accept that they influence my life negatively and I take medication for ADHD and go to therapy and they have done a huge change. I don't agree with all the autistics who say people just have to accept and adjust to all autistic necessities, because at the end of the day, we live in a society and it's something reciprocous. And we do need help and therapy and to do something to be better.
@@annesophiejpI think you misunderstood the context of what I was saying. The person who I replied to deleted their comment. I was replying someone who said something along the lines of: "A child shouldn't be told/A child shouldn't know their diagnosis. Americans have a weird thing/obsession for labels". I was basically saying that there's nothing wrong in a child knowing about their ADHD or autism.
Knowing your diagnosis to (important keyword) understand yourself better is not the same as (nor does it mean) using your diagnosis as an excuse to get away with things. Making excuses is making excuses - it's not a result of being told your diagnosis, it's instead the result of a person making a choice to create excuses. And yes, like you said, it depends on a person on whether or not they abuse their diagnosis to make excuses. Knowing that you have ADHD or autism isn't a ticket to make excuses. Hope that clears any misunderstanding you had with my comment :)
@@divinadroid Yes I agree too. There is a kid in our apartment complex tho,
who is doing over the line things all the time to common/private property. Then the grandma goes around saying sorry and using the excuses, but never even trying to tell the kid about its wrong doings. Now the kid is in school and using the autism tag as an excuse for everything. /He literally tried to break into my apartment, because he saw something on my balcony he liked. T.T I mean its still scarry at the end they also should integrate to society. The kid has crazy rage and emotion issues and kinda ruling over their parents and grandparents life. and he expect that anyone gonna be fine it too. /
That was some top level math. He is not merely counting, he understands numbers.
Let's talk about how wise the mom is in her acknowledging the hard life of a kid in a big city like New York. I am glad that I was raised in places where I got to literally hang around with my friends on trees, or roam in empty orchards without adults supervising us.
I was born in NYC and spent my early childhood there it was the most amazing experience. Then we moved to the suburbs and I was so unhappy. I loved growing up in a big city.
“Your awesome. But it doesn’t matter because life is life.” ❤
