~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Samsung's devices can be particular when it comes to installing new OTA updates. I remember getting a Verizon Wireless branded Galaxy smartphone one time and it refused to install any monthly security update. The phone wouldn't even register that there was a new update to be installed at all.
Before we begin, we need to download some things ahead of time. For example, if you do not have Odin available on your desktop PC or laptop, then you will need to download and extract it first.
You will also need to download the version of Android you want to install on your device.
Just make sure that when you're downloading a new firmware to flash to your device, that it matches the same CSC region code that is already installed.
Once you are all prepared, we can begin this process by first booting the Galaxy S22 into Download Mode.
Now that you see this Download Mode splash screen, let's press the Volume Up button one time to bypass this and get directly into the actual Download Mode page.
Then we can open up Odin on our PC and begin loading in the firmware we want to install. You'll want to make sure your smartphone is actually showing up in Odin.
If Odin is not detecting your device then you likely need to troubleshoot some USB related issue. It could be as simple as switching USB ports. . .using another USB cable. . .or installing the proper USB drivers offered by Samsung themselves.
Let's begin loading in these files by first clicking the BL button right here, and then finding the firmware file that begins with the letters BL.
Then let's click the CP button within Odin and select the firmware file that begins with the letters CP.
After clicking the CSC button, you want to select the file that begins with HOME_CSC.
We can now load the 4th and final firmware file into Odin by clicking the AP button and then selecting the file that begins with the letters AP. This file is rather large and it will take some time for Odin to load it in properly.
After you have all 4 files loaded into Odin, we can click the Start button at the bottom of the window here to begin the update process. There are a lot of files that will be installed so we're going to leave our Galaxy S22 Ultra alone, we aren't going to mess with the USB cable either, because we want to maintain a stable connection with the PC so that these files can be flashed properly.
When you see the Galaxy S22 reboot, you can safely remove the USB cable and wait for Android to boot up.
We can then check to make sure that the newer version of Android has been installed by looking at the Software Information page within the About Phone section of the Settings application.
As long as you're seeing the newer version of Android here, and you can compare the Baseband version listed here, with the firmware files that we just flashed in Odin, to confirm that everything went through successfully and we have finished manually updating the Samsung Galaxy S22.
Hey, please tell me, do I need to unlock the bootloader to boot into download mode ? Please reply 🙏 😢
Can I install the XID version of the S906E if i'm running the ARO version of S906E?
Thanks man, it worked on my s22 which didnt get any updates for a whole year.
you're more than welcome :) thank you for taking the time to leave a comment here (it really means a lot)
Can this work with on ui 6 update?
Thank u so much, I have updated my s22 ultra
congrats! you're most welcome :)
What could be the problem sir that my phone (s22 plus) is still on May 1, 2023 security patch? I tried reading forums from reddit and xda but gotten no answer for this particular issue and also when I searched through my CSC (WWD) it is an unknown code in many sites that I visited, maybe this could be the root cause that I couldnt receive monthly security patches? I am considering to try this procedure but hesistant that I might brick my phone.
Awesome video. Just updated my S22 ultra that hadn't been updated since July of 2022
Thank you works great
¿No PIT file for NAND erase? I used it on my good old S6.
strange when i connect my phone it never says add on top of that its not detecting my phone what could be the reason.
my s22 usa Lock device i can flash update phone?
It works perfectly also for Sam S22Ultra! Thanks
that's great to hear. thank you for the feedback on the ultra variant! you're quite welcome btw
Hey man! Been watching your videos and getting some valuable information from them. Yet, I got a problem that I couldn't solve despite the countless hours of research... My S21 Ultra won't connect to any GPS satellites. I tried the common fixes offered by the official website, no luck. And I found something related to the service mode but can't get into NV Rebuilding section. Do you have a recommendation? Thanks!
have you tried a factory data reset? in an attempt to rule out any software related issues
@@ExplainingAndroid Hey, thanks for replying! I thought that was the last resort. I did try it and I still get no reliable connection. GPS Test application shows no connection to GPS satallites.
What if the firmware CSC doesn't match with phone CSC?
Done right 👍
Can I update my s22 ultra USA country locked device to UI 6 ?
Can I update SM-S901U without erase the files or app ? How can I find out the carrier?
My s22 is from USA (its unlocked but its from verizon). I don't get ota updates as i live in another country using another sim. Will changing csc to USC or something else help me get those ota updates?
Same problem here did you find a solution bro I couldn't apdate my galaxy s 22 plus
Any one with the solutions?
me too 😢
Same problem is there any solution
If I do this update this way will I lose my data?
Can you do this on the galaxy s24 ultra?
hello, your video is awesome. I have one question I hope you'll answer. My model number is SM-908UZKATT but on samfw there is no firmware for this model number. However, when I search using the term SM-908U a bunch of firmware shows up. Will any of those firmware work for my device? or do I need to have the firmware for the exact model number of my phone(SM-908UZKATT)?
Please answer..... TIA
SM-S908U is your actual model number the other is the model code from the region your phone originally is from..look for the model number in software information before you can select the region, different model no are supported in different region If you have U at the end of your model no - SM-S908U then guess its a usa model and you will find only usa frimware
Hi, it would be much appreciated if you would do a video to do the same but without losing magisk root
I am working on a video for exactly this. I'm just waiting for the next monthly update to be pushed out by Samsung
@@ExplainingAndroid Great to know that! Good work
will this wipe data?
I am not able to find firmware for my CSC- GCF on frija or samfw are there any other ways to download it?
Please help
EDIT: This phone is Tmobile locked and i live in india so can i Use TMB as a CSC code?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 (SM-S901U) phone and I'm Trying to update my phone to Android 14 & OneUI 6. But everytime I try to update it says, "Software Update Interrupted No update is available for your device at this time. Please try again in 24 hours." It is a US variant AT&T phone which is being used in Bangladesh. The S22 is capable of running the OneUI 6, but I don't know why it's not updating. Please help
have you tried updating via Odin like I show you in this video? that should help fix this issue you're getting
AT&T is really bad with their updates and their own software lol. I have an s22+ and its got the same problem. its currently stuck on one ui 6. at&t's updates are glitchy so it might be best to go ahead and try Samsung Smart Switch to update. if all else fails, odin is the way to go.
Vai update hoiche ki?
Mine is Galaxy S10 SM-G973U
It's XAA/XAA/USC
It's stuck in android 10. Any help pls??
Did you manage to update it bro😢
what if i loaded the csc instead of home csc by mistake any fix really important
then you will lose your data
Hi...looking forward to flashing my S22 Ultra with latest VZW software - link for Odin not working. Can you update? Thank you!
sorry for the late reply! I have updated the download link and it should work now (thank you for letting me know)
@@ExplainingAndroid Thanks! In the meantime I found a download and flashed the latest firmware for S22 Ultra. Even though it completed with OK (?) it still failed on the phone so i did a factory reset which then updated to the latest version :)
awesome! congrats on the manual update @@ncstewart66
The phone will receive ota updates using this process?
maybe people follow this tutorial because they are unable to install OTA updates through the built-in updater. but yes, you should still be able to install OTA updates with the built-in updater if you use this method. this process itself will not break OTA updates for your device
but what if i have no pc or laptop?
does this require the phone to be rooted first?
no, the phone does not need to be rooted for this to work. and you don't even need to unlock the bootloader either (since it uses download mode and odin)
My s22plus is from USA, i don't get april update till date may be because iam living in India.
My question is, can i chance the software from USA to Indian variant. Is there a way? And if, how?
you would need to check and see if the hardware used in the India release of the phone is the same as the USA release of the phone.
sometimes Samsung uses Qualcomm in the US while using Exynos in other parts of the world
if that's the case with the india/us GAlaxy S22 plus, then it is not advised to change the firmware regions like that
I would suggest you use the steps I show in this video to manually install the April update. and then just keep manually updating it each month with Odin
@@ExplainingAndroid thankyou for your kind reply
Sir, lately in India galaxy S22 series comes with the same processor (snapdragon 8gen 1) as in USA.
Does that mean, it's possible?
@@lalsangH then I believe it should work just fine :)
@@ExplainingAndroid sir, can you please make a tutorial video on that
@@lalsangH the video you're commenting on is what you're looking for. the only difference is you find the region/csc code for India that you want to switch to. download it, extract it, and then load it into Odin as I show you in this video
fail error on odin for my samsung s22 why ?
maybe u can answer my question. why do u need to do this? doesn't the s22 already get these updates ota? i don't get it i have a s22 ultra and it's always updated it'self so i don't understand why someone would want to do it this way. if u could give me a answer i would appreciate it alot . thanks
there are times when those OTA updates just do not register properly. so if, for example, you buy this phone from Verizon Wireless, those OTA updates will not be sent to your device unless the phone has a Verizon SIM card and is active on the network. so if you switch carriers (or just don't have a SIM card for any reason) then you can't get those updates
just one example, but it's helpful for a number of others
@@ExplainingAndroid oh ok thats great u answered my question .
mine stuck on ldfw how do i fix?
I can't guarantee that I'll be able to help solve this particular issue, but if you're wanting 1-to-1 dedicated support you'll need to join the Direct Support tier of the CZcams membership system - www.youtube.com/@ExplainingAndroid/join
After that, I'll be able to dedicate some time and attempt to work through the issue with you
its work on s901U1 ?
it will IF you can unlock the bootloader first. I don't think that one allows for the bootloader to be unlocked, though
this works on live demo unit?
it should work if it has the latest firmware
@@ExplainingAndroid Tnx sir. Mine is on One UI 3.1 Android 11 (A72 Demo). Should it work or not if I upgrade to 5.1 Android 13 through Odin?
How to update my galaxy s21 ultra usa atnt one ui 6 its process not working please help me sir😢
This video you commented on will walk you through how to manually install the latest update (it's the same). Just be sure to download the firmware that matches your device
Download only zip file please make a new video 😢
i had to pay about 16 usd in my currency to update my s22 from one ui 4.1 to 6.0, so here i am attempting to get 6.1 on my own
Works with S22 ultra.
Download the newest Fw with Frija.
Download the Samsung Driver.
Update with Odin (let see the video)
Done.
whoy not say where to get the damn firmware from?
because there are multiple ways you can do it. if you're unfamiliar with this, then you should watch the linked video to learn all of the available methods
So, two questions,
1. Does updating like this result in data loss ?
2. I'm currently using a Korean version SM-S908N outside of the region... I need to know if it is possible to instal the International version into this device, and if it would cause any issues in the usage... (Both versions are on the same chipset - SD 8 gen 1)
It worked on my a52s. Can't believe it was so simple. Thought I'm gonna do some voodoo shit.
Thank you!
I live in Germany, I installed the software through Odin for the Samsung S22 Plus, but when the process is finished, it always restarts and vibrates, then it goes into a loop, I tried the original software, its version, but in vain. It goes into a loop
I'm thinking you installed the wrong firmware.
Same exact situation bruh. I'm stuck with one ui 5.1 with security patch still on May 1, 2023. Envious of other galaxy users who got one ui 6 on OTA update, might as well take the risk when one ui 6.1 arrive.
