  • Bought this 1983 Suzuki GS 750 T off a friend of mine who doesn't have any time to ride , been sitting in his garage for a good 12 years with a few rides within those years. the bike is in great shape over all. haven't decided if i'm going to keep it all original, or do a little custom work to it. runs decent , not perfect, but a heck of a lot of character

    Had an 82’ 750T for several years. Gentleman's bike. Not too loud. Not too fast. Great design, beautiful looking bike. Real pleasure. Easy to work on. Sold it an moved up to a 98 triumph T Bird sport. Am now eyeballing another identical 750T. $800 is a steal for that bike. Worth close to $2000 in nice shape, which yours is in. Wind it up to 7000 and you’ll feel all the horses in there. I only got about 125 miles per tank, so mileage is not great. But it is a 40 year old bike, built when cars got 15 mpg. Enjoy. Peace.

      I've had my 82 T since 1995. Almost got killed on it in 1996. Bike has had its ups and downs and been parked a couple times. Last time for the last 8 years. She's in the process of being brought back again. I'll be back on her in the summer. Looking forward to it!!

      So you traded down to a Triumph? How much extra money did the Triumph seller pay you to do the trade?

      @@Ready72000 I havent traded down. The triumph is a huge upgrade over the GS. I also have 2 82’ Goldwing Twins.

    I brought mine back from 7 years of sitting in a mechanic's disposable vehicles area. I asked about it and he said it's seized up. It was 3 years old when it came in as a wrecked bike. As it turned out, the wreck was caused by a bolt falling into the timing chain channel. If I had thought about it and looked into finding the last owner, I could have helped him in a lawsuit against Suzuki. It was a screamer after the complete engine teardown, clean up, and reassembly. I didn't bother to make it street legal. I cut off the exhaust past the down tubes, put on a new handlebar and mirrors, tuned the carbs to work well with the exhaust and just ran it. Never registered and never got a ticket. My landlord bought it from me for three times what I had into it, made it legal with a vin he had handy and sold it for triple what I sold it to him for. I'd have bought one new if I had been of age and into bikes at the time. Of course, I would have dumped it for the Honda CB900C as soon as I'd learned of it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

    I had a 1982 Suzuki GS650GL. It had shaft drive and it had the exact same gage cluster set up. There is a 1982 750T for sale, same color but has a matching Vetter fairing for $1800 but is about 150 miles from me. I am torn between getting an old classic bike like I grew up with or a more modern bike with fuel injection. I been off motorcycles for 15 years.

      Gotta admit , I’m a fan of fuel injection . I’ve recently been reminded how stubborn a carburetor can be ! Hope your back on a bike soon !
      Cheers

    I have the second year '78 GS750E. Yes it is a great bike to ride. After 30 years putting new tires, sprockets and chain as well as new binder pads. The bike is fast also make no mistake. Owners manual kind of funny says not rev engine over 9K when breaking in.

    Did he or you cut the exhaust?

      @twowheeledwarrior  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey Kierr. I haven’t, the exhaust was replaced by him 12 years ago ? I don’t believe anything has been cut or modified Except for the mirrors. It looks exactly like the one I had as a teen
