reason 1: the dialogue he's saying before he'll cripple crosshair's finger says "dont tell the messenger or the messenger will kill you" which also means he's telling about himself as a messenger, this was also the same word where Sam Witwicky kills Dylan Gould the word he said was "im not a hero, im just a messenger.
reason 2: Noticing why Cogman got himself glitchy, same as Sam Witwicky seeing Cybertronian language on his great grandfather's glasses
