- They really were smoking too many cigarettes... but it's such a great movie, I love it and could watch it over again and again...
It was Kris' first main movie (except for a small part in Dennis Hopper's "The last movie", for which Kris also wrote the soundtrack).
Also starring Gene Hackman who plays kind of a crooked narc, who forces Cisco (Kris), who has just released from jail and is trying to make a comeback as a musician, back to dope business.

If you're from Europe like me ... I think you needn't hesitate because it's a region 1 coded dvd; I have tried this one on a lot of dvd players and the worst was that it was in black-white only, but it played on any of them ... It was my first region 1 dvd :-)) I wanted to check my players with this one, but be careful to do so too, this one shouldn't be the one to check this out ...

Even after all these years "Cisco Pike" is still my favorite Kris Kristofferson movie.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! ACTUALLY, I LOVE KRIS! I HAVE BEEN TO SEE HIM ABOUT 50 TIMES! HE HAS SUCH A WAY WITH WORDS! I HAVE SEEN HIM IN SMALL BARS AND IN CONCERTS.

yep, it's a bit different from the album version, and it's really beautiful. There is another version at the end of the movie which is much quieter but also shorter. I had uploaded it to my former channel, but haven't yet to this. Maybe I will do it soon... It's interesting to hear the different versions...

Doorman buying weed is George Simmons, who also can be seen as an extra in several M.A.S.H. episodes. Since Simmons was also a registered male nurse, he also worked as a behind-the-scenes medical advisor for the surgery scenes on M.A.S.H.

Gr8 to see the old canals as they were. Rode my bikes, Harleys, and cruised in my truck over them with the music blasting more times than I can count. Brings back memories, gr8 memories.

Habe ich damals im TV gesehen - war sehr beeindruckt! Auch heute noch! Ich spiel den Titel selber auch immer live. Mit "he's traded in tomorrow for today" hat er ein zerissenes Lebengefühl auf einen einzigen Satz und damit auf den Punkt gebracht. Klasse!

Kris Kristofferson's bester Film. Und was die Songtexte angeht, braucht man sich nicht drüber zu unterhalten. Allererste Sahne, meine alten LP's werden immer wieder mal aufgelegt, wenn auch nicht ganz "Knisterfrei" mittlerweile. Den Film selbst habe ich noch auf einer alten VHS, in hervorragender Qualität, von wegen die alten Bänder taugen nichts mehr mit der Zeit. .... aber das nur nebenbei. Wie auch immer, Danke für diesen "Upload"!

Kris hatte 2 Jahre zuvor in Scorsese's Film "Alice doesn't live here anymore" die männliche Hauptrolle gespielt. Martin ist wohl ein Fan von Kris... Travis kauft im "Taxi driver" Kris' 2.Album "The silver-tongued devil and I". Fast alle Songs vom Soundtrack zu "Cisco Pike", Kris' erstem großen Film, sind auf dem Album...
I'm a huge KK fan and really like this movie - but why does his '71 Chevelle turn into a '58 Oldsmobile for the interior shots (see 2:08)?

Danke, ja, ist ein super Song, in dem Kris wieder mal seine poetischen Qualitäten zeigt... ist nicht immer einfach, das ins Deutsche rüber zu bringen, freut mich, wenn's dir gefällt. Wo singst du? Hab die dvd grad nochmal bestellt, weil die an einer Stelle anfing zu zuckeln... ist halt ein Film, den ich mir immer wieder mal gern anschaue :-)

Probier es beim Britischen Amazon, der Link ist in der Infobox. Ist Region 1, aber ich hab mehrere DVD player probiert und das schlimmste war, dass er nur schwarz-weiß war. Musst du testen, und Versandkosten von dort sind auch noch billiger als beim deutschen Amazon.
