This video will go through the setup of XBOX Remote Play and what to configure on your XBOX and mobile app to start streaming your games to your mobile device via Remote Play. I also have a portion in the video that I capture running it on LTE cellular and not the WIFI like my first video. Your feedback matters, so like or dislike the video so that I know what content you guys enjoy watching. or post comments and questions and I will respond accordingly.

For all those that cant see the code, all I did was logged out on my xbox app and signed in again and clicked setup console and it worked.

One question I can't find the answer to anywhere. When finished remote playing with bluetooth do you have to manually pair your controller up with your xbox again each time?

Yes, that is why you want a dedicated controller that is paired to your mobile device. I am waiting to get my hands on the new series X controller to see if it support multiple profiles. My guess is that it is not, but I am hoping that the multiple profile feature is added to future controllers as Remote Play and xCloud becomes more mainstream. Example of multiple profile would be my Bose Noise Canceling headphones where I can pair up to 3 devices to the headphones. My hopes are that either MS or a 3rd party decides to add that Bluetooth feature in. I currently have many Xbox controllers and have a dedicated one for my mobile device.

The only problems I have are upstream bandwidth, and network latency, (and Network type: wireless if that counts.) and on the xbox app it keeps saying it fails to connect to my xbox. Is my wifi just really THAT bad?
Edit: I looked at the "Xbox Assist" explanation and well it seems that it should be working so..? What's wrong with it?

It asks for six digit pass or 10 digit pass code that should show on screen I don't see it ?
There should be two options. 1) sign in through your Xbox live account 2) connect through the 10 digit code on the tv. Pick the Xbox live account option.
The 10 digit code will eventually pop back up during setup but you can skip that an you will be in.
I am so glad I have the series S and not just the Xbox one

Sony has PS Remote play that works relatively well. I think you have to be on the same WiFi as your PlayStation though.
Any idea how to get this app on iOS or when it will be available?
It should be hitting the IOS store soon as most press outlets are testing and reviewing the IOS version. I say give it about a week or so and it should be in the IOS App Store. They are still tweaking the Cellular connection to reduce latency.

It doesn't let me connect my xbox, it ask for a code on my tv screen but I don't see any code, a ten or six digit code
Double check your Xbox settings, go to Devices & Connections, and then Remote Features, then go to Xbox App preference, you should see that allow connection from any device is chosen and that there is a check box on allow Play to stream. Lastly in the main device & connection setting, you can run test remote play to see what the scan reveals. I hope this helps.

Just tap the GamePass app with your finger and you will see 3 dots on the upper left corner. Click on that and you have 3 options pop up: Mute Sound, send feedback, or Quit Game.

Can you use remote play while the Xbox is not on and when you are in a different place?
Yes, Remote play on Xbox will turn your Xbox on regardless if you are on local WiFi or somewhere else’s on cellular. It turns your system on, but the light will not be on and the TV does not need to be on either. You will have functionality of your Xbox system through Remote Play.

The mobile app keeps asking me to put in a code. Where do I find this so-called code from. I'm not seeing any codes pop up on my TV. And it's telling me that the code is on the screen of my TV.

It actually worked, if you don’t know how to connect controller then you can search it up and easily find the answers, and btw it’s very laggy and the graphics aren’t that good but between that it’s a good choice.
And also, it only works for iOS 13 and above so it’s not going to work for people on iOS 12 or below

Try restarting your Xbox to see if that fixes the connection issues.

That button is the screenshot and record button, are you looking to remap it to do something else? Just curious to know what you want it to do or not do.

Mying says press enable on your console to get connected and I enabled remote features but it’s not responding
On the app check you console tab and swipe left, you might be trying to connect to the wrong Xbox. If you have your profile on more than one Xbox , the app will list all associated Xbox you have used your profile login on. See if that helps.

Ok so it’s connected but when I turned off my Xbox the power off noise plays and the light goes off but the Xbox Home Screen is still on and the Xbox is running. Does my Xbox need to be on when I do remote play?
Remote plays uses your Xbox to play on your mobile device, so the lights might be off but if your Remote Play is active, the system will still be on. If you disconnect from the remote play app, it will let the Xbox console know to shut off after a waiting period. for the most part, the Xbox turns off into a standby mode.

Make sure to enable remote play on your Xbox console. Go to Settings->Device & Connections-> Remote Features, then enable remote features. Make sure you are signed on to the Xbox with your profile as well as the mobile App.

Wait so I gotta a question. So when I use my home WiFi, I’m able to stream my Xbox to my phone. But when I turn on my data, it just disconnects and says “connection failed” or something like that. I’m kinda bummed cuz I have LTE data and unlimited data, but it still doesn’t work. Do you have any idea why? I’m on a iPhone 7 btw.
Are you on IOS 13? Also run the test remote features on your Xbox to see if you connection at home is enough to connect on your phone via LTE or cellular.

So when I stream it to my phone, how come my headset just doesn’t work when it’s connected to my controller once that’s connected to my phone
Looks like remote play will stream all AV content which is video and audio to your phone. Essential your phone or tablet acts as a 2nd monitor to play the game. Your controller is Bluetooth to the mobile device for control. I believe the will fix the audio on mobile and controller later when they update the app based on user feedback.
There’s a latency lag using Bluetooth controller to remote play .. how do you eliminate that ?
sometimes restarting the Bluetooth on your mobile devices help. I ran into lag one time and restarted the Bluetooth and have been playing with no input lag so far. also depends on what other devices you have using Bluetooth that is near. for the most part people don't notice Bluetooth issues for other devices, but for game controllers, you can definitely feel the input lag. Report any issue in the app store to let developers know what to look for for the next fix/patch. My Android app has been solid, but I have ran into some minor quirks with IOS. also check to see if your XBOX controller firmware is up to date. I hope this helps.

All of these videos on the subject missed the point. The point is that you have an Xbox that’s already set up prior to this app and you’re trying to get the code from the TV to To the app. For me I’m simply not getting that initial code so the TV is not connecting with my cell phone app.

You can play it on your iPad with the Xbox app and remote play enabled on your system. Good use would be if someone was watching tv or a movie and you can’t play on the TV. Use remote play on the iPad and use that as your monitor to play your games library.
Does remote play on your mobile app power on ur Xbox at your home?
Yes, Remote Play is using your XBOX as a server to stream, so it will turn on your XBOX, interesting fact is that the light on your XBOX will not be ON when it activates. Also you don't need the TV to be on. I believe they programmed it this way, because some TVs will auto turn on when a source turn ON as an auto feature built into HDMI-ARC connections.

Witch do you think is better ps4 remote play or Xbox remote play?
So far Xbox Remote play is performing better than PS4 remote play. Xbox remote play also allows for cellular connection, so for people that don’t have GamePass and XCloud, you can still stream to mobile using your own Xbox. Hopefully Sony will update PS4 remote play for PS5 and improve the features to match. These are from my own testing and my own setup. I have Google WiFi with 3 AP Mesh Units around my house. Each AP unit is actually hardwired into my network for better performance.

So for right now the guide buttons only works on the app when you touch the screen and on the upper left you see 3 dots for settings and then an Xbox logo, that is the guide button built into the app. The reasoning for that right now is that you can pair any Bluetooth controller to your phone/mobile device and not all controllers will have an extra button for Guide. A future update to the app might get it to recognize that an XBOX controller is paired and that the mapping of the Guide button is automatic. Keep giving MS feedback on the app, so that it might happen sooner. I hope this helps.
How close do you have to be to the console? Can you be far away like not at home?
Yes remote play works from outside your home via another connection or cellular. Run the remote play test on the Xbox to ensure you have enough bandwidth for remote play away from home.
Why dose it say network type:wireless interference on your home network might get in the way of playing remotely
Wireless technology is a collision based tech and is prone to interference from other wireless devices. all routers have collision avoidance algorithms, but when interference happens, you will see drop packets. and for game streaming or movies, the drop packets will make the picture look like its tearing or pixelated. For game streaming and videos, they use UDP so that means when a packet is lost, you don't retransmit, and this is what cause the issues in the video stream. also more obvious in game streaming when you start to feel lag in controlling a character. More modern Router that support 802.11 AC/N where it does dual band for 2.4GHz and 5GHz will lessen the issues, but it might still persist. If anything, these messages will be common disclaimers for everything out there that uses wireless, not just the XBOX Remote Play App. I hope this helps!
I wonder what protocol streaming there using?
Not sure, I know that most video uses RTP and UDP packets because it doesn’t require acknowledgement from the client that receives the video stream. This often helps with latency but if there is bottleneck in the internet connection artifacts in the video stream will appear. Streaming is usually downstream with the only upstream to the server would be control protocols from moving a character or inputs from a physical controller.

did you swipe left on the consoles to see if you connected to the right one, the app will list all Xbox consoles that you have logged in with your account, including friends or family's systems as well. I hope this helps.

Interesting, I have games on 2 external drive and have no issues playing those games on the external drive. Try restarting the Xbox Console and reconnecting to see if that helps fix your issue.

I would try to restart your Xbox and see if the Xbox IOS App see it. Did you update your IOS app, as the new update release today and released slowly based on your region. You can check if you have the latest IOS app by going into the app store, and for the Xbox app, you will see a picture of a controller and a mobile device highlighting remote play.
Also on your Xbox IOS App, when you go to your library tab (the icon on the bottom to the right of the magnifying glass that looks like 3 game cases), when you choose consoles, does it show your Xbox console there. usually this is the auto discovery the app does to detect Xbox consoles on your network. I have 3 systems, so I will see 3 tiles representing each console. if you don't see a tile here, you can try to add manually and follow the instructions to add your system manually to the app. I hope that helps. let me know
@@remagelosnoc I have the updated app the icon has not changed but I says I have the newest app. I restarted my console and nothing changed and I only have 1 Xbox on my network and it shows up in app. It still won’t let me remote play

see my pinned comment, but essentially the app will show all Xboxes that you have logged into, swipe left on the console tile where you choose to connect, you might see other Xboxes that your profile was associated to. if you have enabled your Xbox for remote play it will connect you. I hope this helps.
