I witnessed from Cyprus in 2015 to 2018 how the British, Frech and Russian military fought ISIS and I stood at the division line between the fortified borders inside Cyprus. I remember how terrified some people here were / are of this islamist threat and Cyprus is quiet and safe in comparison to Afghanistan. I also visited Israel in autumn 2016 and went to the North, near the Gholam. We had a business meeting there, which had been delayed before for about a year due to the ISIS situation.
It is different when you experience these places and situations. News reels cannot transfer this. I feel so deeply sorry for the Afghans and I can only try to put myself in their shoes. I wish for them that their fears will end and they find a way to get out of there safe and alive.

It is very important to get into the minds of the people that Afghanistan has a rich and long culture and has seen golden days. I myself had the honour to meet noble families from Maiwand.
It is important to treat the Afghans with the dignity they deserve. On the TV news, the German experts say all: Take them on the plane and fly them to Tashkent first, check their details there. First, get them out of the chaos.
Really unnerving detail on the set. There's suitcases piled up against the plane door meaning the crew and passengers must have already been attacked by zombies from wherever they came from. So it's possible that the zombie from the cargo hold may have gotten on board before they got to Jerusalem.

I feel like there is a whole other movie imbedded in the flights that couldn't take off. Like, an entire zombie movie set in a plane sitting on the taxiway surrounded by zombies. The whole plot revolves around trying to take off. Could call it "grounded" or something idk xD
That is a sick idea. Maintaining the airworthy integrity of an aircraft while surrounded by zombies, many of the cast are engineers or soldiers. After a narrow, harrowing takeoff and a panic filled flight, film ends on a Hawaiian beach

As flawed as this movie is plotwise, I absolutely love some of the shots. The one showing the planes taking off one after another as the zombies advance is fantastic.
I think The Last of Us took some inspiration from this movie.
This movie isn’t perfect but it’s got a special place in my heart. Many years later this scene still gives me chills.
The way all the planes were lining up to take off. There were about 30 more big passenger planes still waiting to take off. I can imagine being the plane at the back tbh
