- Merida are one of the biggest bike manufacturers in the world, and that always shows in the finish on their bikes, and the level of components they can put on a bike at a given price point. For value, they are often very hard to beat. Merida have a lot of models under $2000, in both the Big Nine range and the Big Trail. The Big Nine SLX edition sells for $1999, with a great group set and lightweight alloy frame.

Very informative review and love AMB magazine.
I have this frame in a lower build spec and they don't actually have provision for an internal dropper.
This is the TFS frame. There was a similar merida xc frame that did. It's confusing on Meridas website
its a good bike to upgrade
- mt500 wheelset for wider tyers
- fox 32 for better adjustability
- dropper post
its 1.5k on 99 bikes now so for probably less then 3k you have a very well specced bike packing bike. the steep geo would go really well on steep climbs.
Yep, the geometry works for that kind of use really well.
would just love to say your magazines are awesome
Thank you!
👍
Thanks Dave!
Just got the big trail 700
Sweet choice!
I have a merida big nine slx mtb..will a 38t oval chainring fit on the frame?
Unlikely - but check with your local Merida dealer
왜? QR 인가요???????
You say in the video: "this bike has a SLX groupset". This is a lie. I have the same model and as per the spec, the only SLX components are the cranks and shifter. That is it. It's a very far call to say this bike has a SLX "groupset".
We've listed the exact parts breakdown in our review. Going through it piece by piece for a video is a bit plain:
