The best songd of 70's in Eurovision Song Contest chosen by euromusica.org italian site about european music and eurofestivalnews.com, italian site about eurovision song contest
ABBA obviously jettisoned on to immortality...the lady at no 1 delivered a powerful vocal performance that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up..simply brilliant to 😁👍
I think 1- Abba 2- Vicky Leandro 3- Brotherhood of Man 4- Gianni Morandi 5 The Shadows/Cliff Richard 6- Oliva Newton John 7- Gali Atari 8- Gigliola Cinquetti 9- A.m.David 10- Wess & Dori Ghezzi
I enjoyed it. Thanks!! I missed some wonderful songs: De tijd (NL70); Smaating (N71); Vita vidder (S72); Celui qui reste et celui qui s'en va (MC74); Dan ljubezni (YU75) & Gelukkig zijn (B75); De mallemolen (NL77); L'amour ça fait chanter la vie (B78); Wunder gibt es immer wieder (D70); I giorni del arcobaleno (I72)
@@dlamiss not easily "Si" was the best classic Eurovision song but in 1974 was the time to ABBA and "Waterloo" still is the most important Eurovision song of all times (voted to the 50th Eurovision anniversary)
@@oscaromega3933 Yes fair comment. The irony is "waterloo" went against the grain for the previous few winners prior to 1974 in that it was a very upbeat song. "si" would certainly have won in any other year around that time
Thank you so much, I could really have enjoyed it for the rest of the day. There were also several surprising re-discoveries that made it really special!
loved it, thank you for reminding me of these songs, I was singing along happily to apres toi, eres tu, power to all our friends and many more, never forgotten gems from my childhood
A very few songs of your list would be on mine ( I was never fond of Ann-Marie David nor Vicki Leandros ), but still I really enjoyed watching it. Thank you!
8:11 "Waterloo" by ABBA is the best song in all Eurovision history without doubt all the rest songs only could be #2 P.S.: incredible that You put it in #16 !?!?!?
it's a personal choice, and election. I'm a big fan of ABBA, but not sure that was the best in their repertoire ! I feel very happy to read his top-3, personally !
@@luisencinas7069 I said other thing My point is "Waterloo" as best song in all Eurovisión history, also voted again in 2005 as rhe best in all history (to the 50th Eurovision anniversary) I never said that "Waterloo" is the best song in ABBA repertoire (although it wss in my Top5 of all ABBA songs)
This was really fresh air and thanks for posting. ;y 2 biggest memories is Zchmetterline form 1977, Swiss Lady from the same final. Want to mention also Spain of course 1973, france 1991 and Germany 1979:)
"Waterloo" by ABBA only #16??? The most iconic song in Eurovision that in 2005 was voted the Greatest Song in all Eurovision history ABBA changes the history of 70s music with their masterpiece "Waterloo"

Not a few points, just 6pts under Waterloo by ABBA (not Anna), winner with 24pts anyway, "Si" is a beautiful ballad and Gigliola Cinquetti did a great performance, could be the winner again (if ABBA wasn't these year)
1975 - Turkey - "Seninle bir dakika" > been last degree - got only 3 points but it was a masterpice. (National juries didnt give any points because they protest Turkey that year)

I noticed the comment about the number one here being the most successful Eurovision song ever, thats simply not true. You cant even compare it to Waterloo wich have sold way more, more number one spots in different nations and even got top ten on the US Billboardchart wich Eurovision songs more or less never do. Well, Vicky Leandros your number 1. Very good. From Spain.
Interesting choice. I would like to add Karina, Severine, Katja Ebstein and ones of my all time favorite Lykken er by Hanne Krogh (norway 71)
