I was lucky to see the show twice. The second time was for the Recording for the DVD absolutely fantastic. Such a shame Victoria has left us far too early. RIP Victoria Wood. You are truly missed. XX XX
I discovered 'Acorn Antiques, the Musical ! ' in a charity shop, for £2.00. back in May 2015. I was blown away, I'd never heard of the ITV serial. It inspired me to revive my appetite for musical drama and I performed in my first Panto at the age of 68. Surely this is Victoria's crowning legacy, the songs, the script, the plot. I shall revisit this piece every couple of months or so for ever. This documentary confirms my love for all the characters. Can't believe this is ten years old.
Was your last word Hourly/Daily/Weekly/Monthly? Surely not yearly. Anyway, I agree completely. I am 62 and she re-ignited my love of piano writing and playing of stage musicals. Thank you Victoria. Miss you so much.
They were. Not close friends. She was not part of Victoria's inner circle in her final years but they did hold great affection for each other. More like a very close, long term colleague, I would suggest. The recent biography suggests they didn't really meet much socially
As Victoria was in on the editing of this doc, she is hardly in it. Wish a release of all that was filmed was in the works. Same with 'Eric and Ernie' and 'That Day We Sang'--Victoria really cut heavily when it came to showcasing herself.
@@comedyclaire I'm currently disputing it. It may be that I can edit out the Acorn Antiques (TV) clip - as that's what the dispute specficially pertains to!

Love the bit where Victoria goes around the dressings rooms , brilliant just shows how lovely she is
Love the boys exposing their bums to make her laugh. Victoria laughing is a tonic

Indeed. It's brilliant. So multi layered and rich with themes
Acorn antiques wasn’t a serial. It was part of The Victoria wood show.🌹

I love Victoria Wood! Where can I find the dvd?? I would dearly love to watch it at home...in the US..
Colin Smith I'm sure the dvd of the stage show is on Amazon but this behind the scenes special was only shown on TV
DistantCousin right, I've looked in the past. Would it be readable by a US dvd player? I thought it wouldn't, as it's a UK product.
Colin Smith probably not. my American friends love their UK TV . I think they got some kind of special player
