Explosive corn hole, exotic fruits, and cheese in our hot chocolate… yeah, it’s safe to say that this was a trip to remember.
Bogota is such a beautiful destination with vibrant art and an incredible mountain backdrop. Art, history, and the smell of sweet pastries fill the streets of Colombia's capital city and our quick 3 days here gave us just enough time to explore.
Colombia is such an underrated travel destination and this brief trip to Bogota made us so excited to return and explore more (good thing that FareDrop also sends deals to both Medellin and Cartagena 👀). #bogota #bogotácolombia #paloquemao

*I'm happy tourist come to Colombia my country. I recommend you to visit the Beautifull Bucaramanga city*
As a bogotan yes, yes I have, am I good at it? No, I am not, I don't think I have hit a single mecha in my life.
I'm from the USA, but have been living in Bogotá for almost 2 years. My GF's family plays tejo frequently, but I'm not really very good.
Another thing that is common is to put cheese in a drink called aguapanela, but it's a bit too rich/sweet for me, so I don't drink it much.
Thanks for the recommendation! That makes me feel better knowing I hit one. Probably missed the board entirely more times than I hit a mecha 😅
Locals play Tejo mostly in rural Andean areas surrounding Bogota specially Sundays, due to be an old indigenous game from the Chibcha culture that used to lived there (they lived in those highlands as big as New Hampshire and Vermont combined)... if you go really far from Bogotá, you won´t find this game. Take into account Colombia is a big country
I love that the internet has made it possible for travelers to hire local guides! Definitely the best way to explore.
Totally agree!
As a Colombian from Bogotá, thank you for coming! And above all, thank you for being respectful of our culture and our city. If you ever plan on coming back to Colombia, I'd suggest visiting other cities (and towns!!!!!!!!) you haven't visited before, since I really think each of our cities has its own people with different culture, accents, fruits and food in general. Thanks for visiting!!
We for sure plan on visiting other cities in Colombia. thanks for welcoming us back!
What do you mean by saying “thank you for being respectful of our culture and our city”. They were lucky that nothing bad happened to them.
@@marisolgaitan227Don't exaggerate either, people like you make foreigners have a wrong perception of the country
@@Colombia_tu_PAPAUy sí, qué rabia me da la gente así.
the "you give PAPAYA" moment was my favorite of the entire video XD
haha us too!
I love Colombia so much is a beautiful country
It really is!
Aléja, parce I want to congratulate you for the English you speak and the quality of culture you know. I have lived in the United States for 20 years and I love knowing that there are people in Colombia who can help foreigners with the information you gave them. Thank you for showing another side of Bogota that not even I, being from Hay, knew about. gracias
Obsessed with all the wall murals!! 😍 And the fruit is insane!
We learned graffiti has really become part of the culture there. Everything has a little wall art there
Feel welcome to visit, ill be glad to show you around! be safe cheers
Thanks for the video, adding Bogata to my list of places to visit!
Yes!!!
I love Bogotá! A group of us were there in 2017 and we ate “Big Ass Ants” from a street vendor at Plaza de Bolívar. 😂
Haha vendors will hunt you done in that plaza 🤣
thats ants are from Santander (state) another beautiful place to visit, a lot of history, so delicius food and over all an amazing people how will recive you with open arms
Im from Bogotá so it’s cool to see people visit my city
Thanks for watching. The people we met were so welcoming
Bogota is very beautiful, magical, charming, its cold climate is delicious, its art galleries, museums, it has a lot of cultural diversity and Monserrate is very beautiful, it has a lot of nature, Bogota is incredible, it is the best city in Colombia.🤩🤩🤩🤩
Agree with this 100%
Thank you for visiting my country! You will always be welcomed here

Thanks for the welcome!
That view from Monserrate Hill
Totally worth the trip
Y’all are adorable. Just learned about this channel watching the private island video on kara and Nate’s original channel. Kinda feels like the good ol days of kara and Nate so I’ll be watching every video.
Thanks so much. That's high praise.
Aleja se lució
She did!
You guys have such an amazing energy and make a great team together. I loved this video and as a Colombian myself, I love to see more and more people from all around the world coming to my country. I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Bogotá and next time you come to Colombia, please consider coming to Cali, my city. I'll be happy to be your tour guide. ❤❤
Absolutely. Our server Diego was from Cali as well and he had nothing but love for the city. We'll for sure have to visit one day soon!
Mi sueño es visitar Colombia 🇨🇴❤
So awesome, definitely will add Columba to our list!
It's so good!
Looking for videos on Bogota as will visit soon and now I'm so excited 🎉 The food 🤩
Hope you have a great time there like we did! Definitely reach out to Aleja for an introduction to the city.
Well you sold me on a trip to Bogota!
YES!!!
Welcome to my city, I really love to see this amazing videos where we can be proud about Bogotá, thanks for coming.
Thank you for welcoming us! 😃
❤🇨🇴✈️ what a great video!
Thank you! 😃
Great video guys!
Thanks so much!
As a Colombian, I'm glad you had a good experience here in Colombia. Thanks for showing the world our beautiful country, and remember “don't give papaya”
Words to live by now lol
Amazing video, can’t wait to come back and visit Paloquemao. Just one correction in 9:13 there’s actually chili in Bogota and its surroundings and I know because I saw this tree with red fruits on it in some of the places I visited, till I asked someone at a restaurant (north of bogota) and they gave me that to try; well, that thing was not spicy at all at the moment but 5 minutes later it was burning
oh interesting
I am so happy for you Tony and Sarah. I first started following your The Detour Duo channel after researching visiting Anchorage and found Tony's video. I've watched you both ever since. So excited to see all your new adventures. I even signed up for FareDrop.
Wow, thank you! 🙌
Love these new episodes. You two are great. I'm glad Fair Drop has a little diversity now.
👏🏿
Me too! It’s about time. Fare Drop needs to be more inclusive
You guys are so fun to watch explore new places! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Will do!
You guys are fun!
🙌🏽🥳
Ame ver este video ❤❤❤ gracias por visitar nuestra hermosa ciudad!
Thanks for watching and showing love
@@faredrop porfavor díganme que no se han ido y harán más contenido 🤩🤩⭐⭐⭐
So nice to see you here!! I wish you traveled around the other parts of the city, I hope y'all enjoyed your trip!
Next time!
As a bogotá native i just kind of want you guys to know that in plaza de bolivar there is the basic structure of any city or town in Colombia, is the center of al 3 powers and church therefore, you saw the capitol- congress, Bogota's main church, the mayors house and the justice palace and about a block away there is Casa de Nariño wich is the presidents house... you can actually book tours for most of this places in the internet for free... colombian law states that all 3 houses for power must be open to the public there are specific times and dates but is a historic tour that explaines how each power work in Colombia..., super recomended
Ah okay. Thank you! I think one of the guards was explaining that too us but we didn't quite follow everything she was saying.
Hearing them discuss who is "giving papaya" is everything hahahahaha. Thanks for the video! It's always great to see strangers allow themselves to be fascinated by our city.
🤣 Thought it would be fun to include that part. We give off a lot of papaya carrying around cameras. Thanks for watching!
I love these two more and more with every video they post. So genuine and great video content!
Thanks so much. Glad you like them!
You meet the Latina gringa, a woman in love with Colombia who has been living here for many years. 😊
Thank you guys for coming. Welcome back any time!
Thanks! We'll be back
This was fun to watch!
Thanks!!
Amaizing 💛💛💙❤
Thanks!
She explained pretty good about “papaya” and the way she just opened the “Granadilla” 😂🤷🏻
Right!
always welcome to my beautiful city
Thanks for welcoming us! 😃
Best video yet guys!!! Loved it
Thanks! 🥳🙌
It was really emotional for me seeing you enjoying my beloved city that much. Thank you for your visit! ❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. We loved our time there
Thanks for bringing Colombia up in good light :)
A small comment. That's not Tejo. That's Mini-Tejo. Tejo involves much heavier irons and much more distant targets. I couldn't even reach the target in Tejo until I was like 15, it's really far away.
Thanks for the info!
Y’all are killing it! So glad you won!
Thanks! 🙌🥳
Good video! Good material
Thanks!
Bienvenidos a Colombia y Bogotá siempre será su casa 🎉
Thank you for welcoming us!
Im glad u enjoy our country! nice video u guys, new follower!

Always waiting on their new videos. Great work.
🙌
Loved the video guys keep vibing !
Thanks!
one of the best videos I've seen about my city so far, love it guys!
Yay! Thank you!
Hey there! I loved seeing you guys enjoy Bogota. The "papaya" part in Plaza Bolivar was way too funnyy! lol. Nice video. I subscribed!
Thanks for the sub! We enjoyed that part too
Super fun looking trip!
Oh it was!
Loved this video! ❤🍊
Thanks!!
Loved it ! Great
Work ! 🥰😍
Thank you so much 😁
This video reminds me of when I used to have friends and they had a ton of energy and would drag me around to see stuff. This video was a lot of fun. This was very colorful, you guys loosened up some with drinking, saw tons of new fruits and foods, met a friend, got a great view of the city, showed some art, the video showed you travelling in ubers and showed how to get around. Thats not the fun part, but its important. The street art is amazing here and you walked past it, and there was not a lot of music here? I saw you in your last vid in phillippines, and you dedicated a lot of time to music. Games too! that was fun surprise. This video had everything but a segment on music and a segment on relaxing. They arent downsides, but I was kinda hoping to see that, but its not a big deal. Tony And Sarah, and FareDrop. This video has 4k views, and it really needs more. Nate and Kara have 17 employees, so you have enough money to do stuff, this video right here!!! This is the one you need to spend money to push on youtube. You need to drop some dough on THIS VIDEO!!!!! THIS IS THE ONE YOU NEED TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT!!
Not me snacking on fruit🍓 whilst watching Sara and Tony
🤣
I think it's the best video showing the touristic things to do in my city I ever seen, thank you so much for come here and showing the world my beautiful country, new subscriber 🇨🇴🥰
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for welcoming us
Wow I love your video! Keep exploring Colombia and I’ll be waiting for future videos!
Thanks! We will eventually explore more of the country, and South America in general
The best duo on the Tube!
🙌🏽
Loving your videos
Thanks so much
My lovely city 🩷🩷 thanks for visiting
Thanks for watching!
I love that y'all came here! I was a diplomat kid, and I lived in Bogota from 6th-8th grade. Enjoyed this!
Thanks! Do you ever miss it, or do you go back often?
@@faredrop I haven't, but I should! So many places I didn't go that I should have!
La proxima vez, visiten los alrededores de Bogota, la sabana de Bogotá, vayan a Chia, Cajica, Zipaquira, las reservas naturales cerca a Bogotá como el parque natural de la niebla de chicaque. The next time, you will visit Colombia, I recomended visit around places near to Bogotá, you can go to visit Chia, Cajica, Zipaquira, natural reserves near like natural park Niebla del chicaque etc. Welcome to Colombia !!!!!
Next time
I love your list of goals! I’m going to adopt that for my travels but I’ll add spend time in a local place with no tourists.
When we travel slowly we usually like to do that as well
Excelente guía ❤❤❤ que chévere que disfrute mi hermoso paissss
❤️
You missed the Gold Museum and the salt cathedral
Salt cathedral was like an hour outside of Bogeta, and we didn't have time to drive out there. We prioritized visiting just one museum while here, and since Botero was close and free, we chose that one. Next time, we might try and see those places we didn't get to. Thanks for the recommendations 😊
welcome to Colombia, the third most beautiful country in the world! Enjoy friends. Beautiful places, wonderful food and much more.
Thank you! 😃
I had to use reddit tips to fake my way through that form to get it to work. You basically have to just pick a flight that exists to move forward, then go back and fill in your actual flight info. I was in Bogota in May. LOVED IT! AND I bumped into Aleja at the Gold Museum!
Ah. OK, sheesh. Thankfully, we didn't need it. We fully planned to just show them that we tried seeing as Google said that would work.
Did you really? She's so fun to be around
Awesome video. Columbia is beautiful. Explore 🙌💗
It is! We need to explore other areas outside of Bogota next time
@@faredrop can't wait! Looking forward to it....ty😘✌️
Hi, it is Colombia, not Columbia. Colombia is the country, Columbia is a brand, a university and a city in the USA.
@@marcecmt gee.... Is there any way you could tell my smartphone? 🤔🙆🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️😂😂😂✌️
@@cookinginthecucinawithrose2214 Maybe, but it's just to let you know. 😌
Just met your channel and subscribed, nice vibe, nice edition, I was so amazed by everything even though I'm Colombian 🤣greetings from Medellín!
Thanks for the sub!
Welcome to colombia, Universal blessing ☄️♥️🇨🇴🫂🌟✨

Welcome to Colombia
Thanks!
Greetings from my beautiful Colombia guys, I highly recommend visiting Medellin, it is the most beautiful city in Colombia.
We plan on going there one day
thanks for visit our country!
Thanks for welcoming us!
Thank you for visiting ❤
Thanks for the warm welcome
21:08 very nice explanation, just one thing, actually "calles" goes from east to west, and "carreras" goes from north to south as carrera 14 which is the same Caracas Av
good to know, thanks
Its so wholesome to see you guys enjoying Bogotá. Loved your attitude and definately will check out your other trips :)
Thanks so much! 😊
I'm so glad u guys went to my city
Bogota ❤❤😊
It was so much fun!
Amazing video from my city Bogotá! Amazing host too! Amazing food that I miss so much!
Just one little thing, Calles run from east to west, so from the mountains. Carreras run from North to South.
Thanks for the tips!
Your content is great
Thank you!
So glad you visited my country and enjoyed all that delicious food. Hope you get to be back and come to the Caribbean coast of Colombia: Santa Marta or San Andres would be great options with awesome beaches and nature. Always fun to watch you guys!
Next time! We really want to explore the coast and head toward the amazon
Ya me van a subir el arriendo de nuevo unu

🙌
Can't believe I sat through a 30 mins ad , good work, glad you visited my country, hope you check out cali eventually.
Thanks for watching! We definitely had an amazing time
Welcome !
You did the real tourism.
Thanks!
Thank you for being honest about the fact that you were crammed into the funicular like sardines xD now I won't be deterred, I will simply be prepared for that experience :D
There's probably a secret timeframe when that doesn't happen. The cable car was also being repaired so the only way up was walk or take the funicular. Once that's running again it should be a bit better
I love your videos 🤗
Thanks!
Great video. I am afraid of birds too!
You and me both!
hey! a new sub from Bogota
loved all the shots and vlog styling of the video, i really enjoy your content :)
Thanks for subbing!
Guys I subscribed to your channel cause I loved the video so much. Please please please come once more, 3 days is not enough for this city. Its insane how many places and things you can find here.
Also, you guys look gorgeous and seem very very cool
Thanks! Agreed. A few days never feels like enough, but sometimes that's all you have. Hopefully, we have more time in the future
