Modern art is a big reason America defeated Communism. That's a pretty big reason to like modern art if you ask me.

Even as a kid in middle school, when I saw "modern" art, I was always like "but it looks so dumb, why is it worth so much?"
The CIA being involved in all the wacky projects makes perfect sense when you think about it. It's sort of like how if you leave a German engineering team unsupervised with a bottomless budget and almost no oversight, their end product will ALWAYS be a hyper-advanced, highly effective, ruinously expensive, comically overcomplicated monstrosity of a machine. This is the same basic concept, but instead of German engineers, it's a bunch of American spies who've seen too many movies and read too many comic books.
Some of the most recent Fat Electrician videos are the funniest stuff ever. When I think of the US millitary it is mostly nukes and ww2, but crazy shit happened with them. Highlgy recommend the Guamm invasion video.
Speaking of tax right-offs, he has an mp5 on that couch as an aforementioned right-off.
This has been quite illuminating, and also came with a few surprises.
On a related note: I was already familiar with the speculation concerning covert communication and suspected espionage conducted by USSR-sympathetic artists in the West during the Red Scare, but -- somewhat ironically -- only became aware of it via a work of art, and not via an online dissertation like this one. The work in question is a comic book album, titled _Red Soul_ (FR: _Âme Rouge_ / ES: _Alma Roja_ / DK: _Rød Sjæl_ /2005), and it is the third album in the Spanish duo Juan Diaz Canales' and Juanjo Guarnido's noir series _Blacksad_ (anno 2000). Honestly, that makes it worse. The story of the modern art isn't about the success of brilliant visionaries who defined the landscape of art industry for decades to come. It's a story of useful idiots who failed upwards by the will of the government that thought they would be a useful tool for propaganda. Of useful idiots who were used to fight against their own personal beliefs.
It's not an inspiring story about finding success by doing what you want, expressing yourself however you want, those artists didn't achieve anything. Not truly. Their success was a lie.
The whole story is unironically disgusting to me.
I fucking hate communist and until I saw the original Fat Electrician video I hated most if not all modern art as well. So you're comment legitimately made me laugh and made the original video even funnier in my eyes. I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at them.🤣
That just makes it funnier. Think about all those art snobs that spent decades looking down on the rest of us as morons for not "getting it", and now you get to enjoy the knowledge that we were the smart ones all along, while they were nothing but a pack of useful idiots in a wacky government propaganda scheme. Then think about all those twats whose artistic flailings were popularized by this scheme, so smug in their self-righteous Marxism even as they engaged in activities their own ideology would NEVER allow, and comprehend how they were nothing but tools, and many of them probably even realized it before the end. It's all just * chef's kiss *. The same things you find disgusting about it are what gives me such beautiful schadenfreude about the whole situation.
