- PCEP Exam
You can take it from home. No proctor. Honor System.
I chose the newer exam PCEP-30-02... maybe that's why I failed ??
Kodekloud's mock exams were WAY easier. I was getting 80-85% on those!
PCEP-30-01 (Retiring Dec 2022) vs PCEP-30-02 I took this one!
I got 66% = I had 20 questions right out 30.
Passing mark was 70 = 21 questions , missed by 1 QUESTION!
Time: 40 minutes. I had 6-7 minutes left. So, time was not a problem.
Lots of question where drag and drop to make one line code (e.g. define a dictionary)
2-3 questions: where you drag and drop to make outcome happen (if else block or try except block)
Theory/no-code questions: 3 or 4.
LOTS of "what is the output" (Complex mostly) questions. You had sit there and calculate. Not easy!
3-4 question where there was WHILE loop with "else", What? Same for for loop!! What???
Definitely Study Tuples!
How to convert input string to float
Which of these functions can be passed two arguments?
Which one of these will give you non-zero outputs?
Know operator priority! ** or / ?
How to delete from list
Two questions on Range
Thank you for sharing your experience.
I just completed my PCEP exam, and scored 83%
All the best. Congratulations!
I just passed it yesterday with 95% , hope you pass it too(I practiced with cisco python essentials 1)
That's great. I will love to take the exams very soon

Thank you for sharing.
I am sure you will grab it next time around. Up and onwards!!!
Thank you!
Super helpful!
Thank you!
Can you please help me with this
1. Can i use pen and paper?
2. Is it a proctored exam?
Thanks
Yes and no
Yeah, I recently just took an a failed. Also the I got a 68 and but like I said a fail as a fail the time went by really quick I thought the questions were some of them were pretty involved that I really had to think about OK what disease line code do and everything but so I probably gotta get a little quicker on take code and analysis before I take it again And I guess that was it that took a while and I just finished question 20 and I looked at the clock and it said I had like five or six minutes left. I said oh God and then I just started answering like C and a friend of mine told me he said you would’ve been better off just letting the clock run out And really work on the questions you could’ve but so decided to take it again. I’ll probably do that just take my time and every question till the clock runs out preservation exam is pretty low like Cisco and other places so it wasn’t that bad and the price of the test is pretty cheap $59 so I just probably put another week into it. There’s nothing on the test that was shocking like what does that mean? But like I said I didn’t know what to do with the dragon drops. I didn’t know what to do with the matching I don’t think they really went over that too well andand when I got those questions I had to figure out exactly what I what they wanted me to do so but that was about it like I said there’s nothing shocking that was on the exam, but I failed it again
Thank for your input!
Hello, Mister. Did you retake the PCEP and pass it again? I took it recently without studying and I passed. On the practice exams I was also getting 80%-85%, and I got a 702 on it thanks to you. I am ever so grateful for this video, and I wish you the best in your coding journey. One coding sigma to another. ♥
Wow! that's so close to passing threshold!

I never did. Moved on to Golang.
@@mamun001 Oh alright 👍
I wish you the best of luck mister 😊
Hello Mr. Rashid,
Are we allowed to keep pen and paper on our desk to do calculations for some of these questions?
Do we have to show the room around with our webcam turned on, before the exam starts?
Suppose we have a desk set up with an external monitor, do we have to unmount it prior to the exam and only use our laptop?
Sorry to be pedantic but I think it's best to have these things out of our way *before* exam-day rolls in.
Hope you have successfully passed this exam by now, if not, wish you the best! ;-)
This will help: docs.linuxfoundation.org/tc-docs/certification/faq-cka-ckad-cks
Pen paper allowed. Yes, you have to show the room.
I am pretty sure you can use external monitor.
I failed twice, my last score was 59%, I don't think the difficulty of this exam is high for beginners, I have been programming in Python for 4 years and I have other certifications.
cheer up! I think you should buy some practice tests either from OpenEDG or from reliable udemy trainers. I got Cord Mahlmann's p.t. on udemy and the official ones too. and boy, they were tough! Wish I had practiced a little more but overall I'm happy I've passed (76%).
Best of luck!
I passed with 97 percent...took udemy practice exams. Which were much harder than the actual exam.
Congrats! Which practice test did you buy?
Just a couple of days ago, I squeaked by and got 76% . The exam _per se_ was tough and a bit disappointing since I was scoring 96% on official OpenEDG practice tests. I didn't have much time left to go over some flagged questions so I'm not surprised I passed with low marks. Anyway, glad we both passed 😂
Thanks for the tip!
I did not take any course, maybe that's why :-)
Hi Sir.. can you please tell me which certification should we register for pcep??
PCEP 30-01 or PCEP 30-02??
PCEP 30-02
I would go with 30-02
Thank you for sharing this.
Please guide from where do I practice for this tests? Are there any past paper/questions available?
I know kodekloud has some, but they cost $120/year or something like that. There may be some on youtube , as well.
Is there any OOP learning in this certification ?
Not much on Python Essentials 1 (PCEP exam). Certainly on Python Essentials 2 (PCAP exam).
No.
How long did u guys study?
I have the same question
I only studied for a few weeks. However, I have known Python for years.
Is there Same questions in 2nd attempt also ???
Did not try a 2nd time, yet :-)
I tried 2nd attempt and cleared there was some changes
sir their is any webcam or voice detection ???
how to crack this exam tell sir
No webcam
Did you prepare from the questions that were available at the Python Institute for PCEP
I did not.
