- Stop buying portable SSD drives! They are far too limited and make organization a nightmare once there's more than 1 involved. Unless you travel professionally and MUST have the portability they aren't as effective as the solution I just got! This should finally solve all my problems with one device!

Very nice Explained!!
i would not recommend to use SSD for storage, just for daily use. Store all data on a 4 bay NAS which is setup as a Raid system (e.g. 2 x 2 Raid using NAS HDDs which are much cheaper as SSDs). This allows you to swap defective drives within one Raid without any data loss. And if you use Synology Raid you can upgrade your drives by just swapping them one by one.
But since a Raid system is not a real backup use an additional external USB drive attached to the NAS, which has at least the capacity of the two combined NAS Raid drives.
But the best way for a real backup is a second NAS, which is located in another house and automaticaly backup you NAS to the second NAS via internet. So if your house burns down you still have a backup. The whole setup is expensive though, but in my opinion it's definity worth it.
You could set up redundancy in software. But generally, SSDs allow you to take out data even after failure. And yes, Samsung SATA is a way to go. Crucial are also nice. If you plan to edit videos off it or just dump big amounts of data, it is better to avoid QLC drives (Samsung QVO, Crucial BX)
Thanks for the info!! And for watching!
But not when the controller fails. Then you cannot access anything.
And Jip qlc is slow.
Raid is not a Backup....
Lol did you just upload 6 videos on one day 3 days ago 😂😂😂?
YUP! I planned to publish like 20 at once but that didn't happen.
