A past VARC 1000 student sir.. scored 96 percentile in CAT.. converted NMIMS Mumbai, IIM kashipur and withdrew from them yo join MDI IB.. but then MDI decided to ruin my 1 year.. happy that getting MDI flagship core seat next year, but worried about the gap year as i already had left my job last year to prepare for CAT
Thanks for presenting the issues very transparently sir..

Assuming that the person opts for deferred admission, the following would be the logical course of action:
      1. The Loan: They can talk to the bank to find a solution. The student would have paid 6 lakhs. No additional amount needs to be paid this year. The next installment will be due once the course starts. I assume that the bank will have some solution.
      2. The Job: They obviously cannot join the same company. They could pick another job (which may be difficult). However, during this one year, they could utilize the time to pick up additional skills by doing courses, internships, or part-time jobs. Or they could simply relax!

This time MDI has negative waitlist movement.

    As on 18th June
As per the admission office there were 131 deferred students in IB Program and 49 other students together in rest of the programs.
That makes it to a total of 180 students who will be going to suffer, including me.

So messed up because even if half those people switch to flagship, the aspirants for next year are more under pressure because 50 seats are gone already

If there are approx 100 deffered admissions next year.... would that mean lesser seats available for cat 24 takers at mdi

Yes, unless they increqse seats(idk if that is viable or possible now)

That 100 is my speculation. I don't know the exact number.
If students pick up deferred admission, then those seats for next year will get filled. The intake is sanctioned by AICTE. So, likely that there would be a lesser number of seats available.
