I hope you enjoy my first ride of the season vid. Leave me some feedback on things I could improve on. Whether it’s my editing, camera setup, or riding skills ;)
Finally the first video of the season from you! Gonna enjoy this!!!
Sick sled! Just got my time on my new sled this weekend here in Sweden around 100cm of snow
Thanks bud. What did you get?
@@JasonCaville I got a khaos 850 146 2023
@@filipn8309 Going to be wild!
You bought an awesome sled! Here’s to a good season with it 👍
Thanks! Very good first impression!
Thanks for taking us along for the break-in ride! Camera angle is perfect. Mom's breakfast looked 🔥
Thanks, that breakfast was delicious 😋
@@JasonCavilleyou forgot the tip😂
@@christinecaville8539ah I forgot! Maybe Dad will spot me
@@JasonCavillenext time😂
For tight trees - I'd say the answer is an astounding YES! 55" 325 with that type of throttle response....what a weapon.
She's a party girl. Hold on.! LoL
Incredible throttle response combined with that track and it launches and lifts out of the snow. Never tried anything like it!
@@jackblack9432Arms are feeling it today haha
Didn't look like you were having ANY fun out there haha!@@JasonCaville
@@208SledHead not a single fun moment was had 🤥😂
Sleds lookin fantastic
She’s a looker! Thanks. Been out yet?
@@JasonCaville Logan won’t have his cast off till the end of the month. Broke his wrist
@@Just3adventures Ya, probably shouldn’t ride with the cast on. I bet he’s stoked to get out riding 👍
Didn't know you were CZcamsr. Great video for show. Cody @LHC here.
Thanks, Cody 👍
Video very Cool 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍👍
Great video, His boost looks so much heavier in the front end!
It is quite a bit heavier. Not sure the exact weight difference. On the 9R I keep the front end up more using the throttle too
Being a pro platform it's way more planted and a boost. If I purchased one tomorrow it would be 165 Khaos boost.
Old might ducks colours look sweet on the snow
I need a Ducks decal!
Love the video what elevation are you at?
We were between 6500 and 6900 feet (2000-2100m) Thanks 👍
Beautiful sound, what brand is that silencer you got on ?
Sled Shed “The Thing”
Thanks!
I've heard the 9r described, as more powerful version of the old 800H.O, real snappy off the bottom end, with the light crank, like the light 800H.O, over the heavier 850.
To me, the 9R is a much more responsive version of the 850. Similar track speed overall but the 9R accelerates harder.
Not sure about having less back pressure, with aftermarket can, during break in, but I do run in ethanol mode, with non ethanol fuel, during break in.
I'm going to try ethanol mode next ride.Hard to find non-ethanol fuel. Where'd you find it? I haven't had any detonation issues in 91/non-ethanol mode.
Get up Smith start pulling those chutes lol.
Haha not for me. I love it up there
new 9r might be the best engine Polaris has made since the 600s put in the early axys models
It’s a beast!
I’ve been wondering about elevation and power loss without a turbo. I know in the northeast it’s not an issue. Where are you? Any thoughts?
I’m in southeast BC. Yesterday we were riding at 6-7000 feet and it was just below 0°C. My sled was pulling 8700RPM and was absolutely ripping. Likely need heavier weights on the primary. I’ll wait until it’s out of break in mode though. It seems to be clutched for higher elevation
@@JasonCaville wow so you were right around the elevation when the lack of oxygen will begin to affect Horsepower? I hope to see what you say later in the season when you make adjustments and really get the whole show going good luck
@@mobilewintercamp7515 We definitely notice the elevation when we get stuck! Out of breath quicker. I’d love to try the new 9R at sea level
@@freddockins9470 The Axys 800 HO RMK is still an excellent choice and I’d be happy riding one!
Those cans are fun for 30 min, I think yiu will end up with the stock silncer soon
It’s a bit much. Stock one is heavy but sounds so high quality
Maggie and Fergus had just as much fun as you😂
Two tired pooches
@@JasonCavillethey better sleep good tonight
Im looking at a 9r 165 and a freeride 165 not too sure what one too go with.
Both are lighter than their turbo counterparts. Is the 9R a Khaos?
@@JasonCaville yes it's a kaos
@@jaythe306snowmexican well I have two Khaos’s and love both of them. One 850 165x275 and a 9R 155x325. So I’m kinda biased. I haven’t ridden the new free ride but I’ve heard it’s set up for big jumps.
@JasonCaville I appreciate the feed back, the 9r is what I'm leaning towards. 2 years warranty compared to brp 1 year ans a grand cheaper.
@@jaythe306snowmexican Any time! Can’t go wrong with the 9R
How did he get stuck on flat ground?
Haha let’s see if he chimes in! 😂
Sucks to suck..LOL
@@jackblack9432: Everyone gets stuck, when they're new riders. I was fortunate to grow up in the 80's, before mountain specific sleds(phazer), so learned momentum early. But he'll figure it out, and gets to start out on way better sleds, so they'll get better, much quicker.
@@Trad-Am new to the boost, not a new rider lol. I actually submarined it into a drift that was there and the pin and wiggle trick didn't work. It was a fairly deep day eh.
Does Trent’s sled have to dash display?
It does. All the Boosts have it
@@JasonCavilleok. I thought so, but then he asked which way you went.
Yup it does. At the time I had my display on engine stats.
What goggles are those? Oakley?
Yes Oakley Inferno heated goggles.
@@freddockins9470 I have both Oakley heated and 509 heated goggles, and the Oakleys are definitely on another level in terms of performance
Did Trent take any video of his drive home😬😬?
I would be surprised if he did. Would take a lot of skill while in a white knuckle snowstorm
I have a video leaving Elkford. Lol. Unfortunately the CNP was terrifying and filming it was an after thought. Felt like driving with a blind fold on. Lol
@@jackblack9432that doesn’t sound fun at all.
I see the 900 smokes excessively just like my 850
…
Especially on a cold start in break-in mode. A little wind helps 😂
Why even have a aftermarket?? sounds realy bad and anoying, and dont give you any power anyway
Lighter weight, and it cooks your lunch. I agree the sound is a bit much
Break it in the way you are going to RUN it
Agreed!
I always put a can on right from brand new, then the sled knows nothing different if it even matters
I don’t think it does!
You don’t have the skill or bravery through the woods for that sled. Makes it a lot easier/more fun to ride though. It’s a lot more power than mediocre riders need.
Low snow right now!
colors on polaris is soo extremly ugly
They’re polarizing for sure
Naw you don’t have to some people recommend it won’t be the end of the world honestly
I might try out the stock muffler next ride to see if I notice the weight
