To say that the RMZ450 hasn't had changes and updates in over a decade, like implied in the video, is pretty ignorant. In 2018 suzuki reworked the frame, changed the engine mounts, also changed the cam, the mapping, front forks, and rear shock. Also changed from an aluminum tank to plastic, redesigned the entire look of the bike, plus a few other things. New for 2023 is a custom mapping ability similar to the yamaha, it just takes a separately purchased battery to upload is since there is no battery on the bike.
Bottom line is the bike sucks!
@@rip.n.Rob.61 no mercy😂
@04756100 bike doesn't suck at all.. all you need to do is buy a new rear shock or send the stock one out forks are fine. Softer motor mounts help soften the chasis up. Most 450s are 10k+ you can build this suzuki and still be well under 10k
ya and people have been saying suzuki's bikes are no bueno for quite a while
@@utube358 dude! Every other bike has electric that makes this Kickstart Suzuki uncompetitive from the start !!!! Grow a brain please 😂
Ive always loved the RMZ, i know lots of people complain about no electric start but honestly its not hard to kitstart a bike theyve just gotten too comfortable with electric start. A bit of tuning of the suspension and that bike is as good as any. Great vid!
Yea, ive never had a bike with e-start and im gonna keep it that was as long as i can. gotta stay young
@@Destructionater its only 6k to the others be 10k
$5300 OTD?! That’s a crazy good price, I’d love to buy one for that kind of money. There is absolutely nothing to complain about at that price.
Unless you live in a one-horse backcountry town these things are being sold at $7999 still.
@@moodyshooty yeah, I don’t understand how the guy bought that bike for $5,300. Maybe the dealer was going out of business?
These guys are fn wankers....2 da looo!
@@thatalaskaguy I bought a brand new 2019 kx250 for $6500 OTD, then the dealer closed down a couple years later. But Kawi has rebates for their bikes too.
@@carsonevans4252 do you think the $5300 was a real price?
I loved his first comment when riding the bike, about how quick is was to feel comfortable on it.. I felt the same thing. Bought a 2022 RMZ450 a couple weeks ago, have been on it twice and I am in love with the bike!!!! At 210lbs or so with gear I haven’t had to touch the suspension at all yet, still have the 110 rear Bridgestone tire and everything stock. All the hate on the bike, those people just can’t ride well… they cry about it’s lack of power and suspension…. When some Pro-Am or Pro rider could still take a bike that’s 15 years old and whomp their asses with it, heck do they not realize way less powerful 250cc bikes can run the same laptimes as 450 bikes??? Lol you don’t need high HP for cornering which is where most time is made up on a track, you need to be the who Carrie’s the most momentum… and if you suck at riding, no amount of power will save you.
Thank you for the content, really enjoyed this honest review from a very talented rider. Excited you rode it completely stock. Subscribed and looking forward to more content from this new channel, looks great 👍
U should rank it by looks too u can’t deny Suzuki makes a good looking bike that yellow blue and gold with some added gold hubs and rims and all that make a damn good looking bike. If u mix some gold and blue bling parts it could b dope af
I put Torc1 Racing Vengence Flex control levers in gold on mine & it's sick. The package came with a set of black ones too, but the gold with the shocks looks nice.
Love the video keep up the awesome content and helping other including myself how to ride a bike better more comfortable and with control! 🤘🏼👍🏼
Was awesome seeing you in person at Arlington! You were doing your heat races when I was in the pits so I just missed you. I saw you being 1st in group c for qualifying for a bit that was bad ass 💪🏽
He is a very technical rider. He looks like the 3rd Lawrence brother on a bike; perfect form.
That was good. Why can’t the magazines just do a no-nonsense review like this? Quick, easy, to the point. 👍AJ
5300 for a new 450??? That’s awesome even if it is an old bike
Modern dirt bikes from any of the big 7 brands are very hard to complain about. Unless you're a racer gunning for podiums every single weekend, any 2023 bike is going to perform just fine for you... even if you have to Kickstart it.
I'd also like to point out that you can buy a brand new RM-Z for the same price as a 3-6 year old ragged out KTM. And that makes the Suzuki RM-Z a no brainer for someone on a tighter budget. Spend your savings on suspension work and good gear to keep you safe and comfy behind the bars.
I know everyone was dying to hear my opinion, so there it is. 😂
I totally Agree,I bought a 2019 rmz450 brand new and did my own changes and additions, love the bike ,And I am no pro rider,Just a person with a passion to ride hard,No regrets
Exactly threw Factory connections suspension under my 19 and a Lottworx headlight slip on muffler couldnt be more Happy
I love the rmz250 and 450 I think they look amazing!
And sound amazing
@@aydenrich262👍🇦🇺
Great review.
For that price you have the possibility of suspension + vortex/ GET and or Magura hydraulic clutch. Or just more hp. Or just more hours riding it.
It would be so cool to see u build a 10k Suzuki and compare it to the Stock Honda. I mean u can put 5k in this thing and could probably make it better than a stock "Tier 1" bike
Yes you can. Get one while prices still good 👍🏻
For 5k you couldn’t get the weight near the Honda and it still wouldn’t have E start.
@@bradpowell843 I don´t think that the weight is a big of a deal. If u put 2k in the suspension 1k in an exhaust and 1k for a vortex I think you would get a better fitting bike than a stock Honda
They’re literally nearly $10k already in some regions. No clue where AJ got this 5300 number but every dealer in southern CA is selling RMZ 450s for $7999
@@bradpowell843you are a liar if you say you can tell the difference of 2 pounds 10 pounds yes very noticeable 2 pounds not noticeable you sure as hell can not tell the difference
After this weekend at Indy, I'd say yeah, the bike with Kenny's suspension is "pretty good". I love your videos.
i have a 2022 model and i love it dude
SUSPENSION AND KENNY
is a endless search
oil levels/ oil thickness/ valving springs/ temperature
Interested to see what they’ll do with the 24 model now that Kenny is on their bike. I know it’s a stretch, but imagine Suzuki climbing the ladder back to the level they were at with RC.
I'd love that, it's awesome seeing yellow in the playing field again, nevermind the fact that it's Roczen👌🏼
You cannot develop a new bike in one year. Also you cannot develop a new bike if you are not in the MXGP series, which allows running prototypes. I bet there will be no new bike in 2024.
@@nestserau they might have been developing one this whole time and no one knows
The biggest thing for me right now (eyeing a new bike) is the missing e-start. I'm short and light, so I need to get the suspension re-done on any bike anyways. Also means if I tip over anywhere I always have a hell of a time getting the bike running again. An e-starter would help so much for that.
Keefer said all new 450 in 24
Yellow looks good on ya AJ 💛
it would be great if you can get Jett or Hunter and put the gopro on them.
its been so long since we have seen a pro ride with a GoPro. AMA did GoPro so dirty with the regulations. I remember AC and his 2019 Title runs. Good Times
As again thank you AJ and Cam for this Video!!
I want a new '23 RMZ450 NOW. Getting one next wk. They are well built & fast.
Id wait til 24 when the new one comes out. Even if you want a 23 they will blow them out. When they update the bike
don't wait. cant go wrong.
A bike is a bike is a bike - when new ones come out they aren't totally reinventing the wheel, and if you found one say 6k and threw another $6-8k (which is basically what other brands will cost you OTD with taxes and fees) you will have a stupidly good machine.
Your skill, technique, experience, and fitness is much more important, cause at the end of the day if you have those you can really push any machine and find comfort! -That's why I bought the CRF450R-S (2020 Twin pipe remake)! I got a stupid deal on it, and it's no lesser of a machine, and now I've built it into an RX...I will admit that I'm kind of a hypocrite though, cause this machine was my dream bike and wanted to keep it forever...so I invested more into it than what I paid for it, but I wanted comfort at speed, reliability, and wanted predictably at the old age of 35. lol I'm already broken from 5 deployments in the military, Federal Civil Service afterwards, and Deep Sea Diving working in the oil fields of the Gulf of Mexico - can't risk a big injury with my TBI so found Showa A-kit suspension very slightly used (3 Hrs), and Art of War re-valved it for me, and Bundy Built Engines helped me next door...I'll never buy anything else again between that and my 2019 TM Racing EN300ES 2t - just rebuild, and focus on my riding & fitness!
SO GO GET THE ZUKE! Twisted Development can make that engine a baddy for $5k, buy a Barnett/Hinson/Rekluse clutch, and get suspension revalved and if you bought it for 5500-6k you've basically paid the same amount OTD as a new KTM 450 and really will have better quality and power with the same money invested - just my two cents. And KYB, Showa, WP, AND Ohlins (and I believe MX Tech) all make suspension for it if you want to upgrade later. You'll never be a better rider than the level of bike you can build - your bike will ALWAYS be a better bike than you are as a rider! 💪
@@jonathondavis170 you're talking about an unprecedented upgrade here. A bike that hasn't been updated since 2018 being updated for 2024 is not comparable to a year to year upgrade u typically see.
What is that go pro mount you are using? I'd love to buy one
good point bro
@cameronbushey great riding footage... Looks like it was shot on a $4000 camera lol
What GoPro did you guys use for this video?
This was a kickass idea fellas 👊💪.. Appreciate ya both ✌️😉
У меня тоже Suzuki rmz 450, но только 2010 года, на таком новом покатать- это просто мечта
Probably the best I have ever seen you look on a bike
When u take the price into consideration it's better than all the other bikes.. the average person that buys a dirt bike is not going to go any faster on any one brand than any other brand they're just not riding it that high a level...
Got to be honest the fox gear is fire .
pulp mx said the japanese executives were at the first two rounds for kenny, i think next year a full factory pro circuit susuki team will be anounced that’s my guess .
That would be sweet. Do you think that would mean they’d create an R&D department?
@@DirtyMagpie181 yes . now a days “factory team “ doesn’t really mean in house it can be privately ran like that star yamaha team, in that case there is more flexibility to run parts that conflict with team sponsors , but the factory one off parts and development would be happening aswell with the japanese, which they were at the first two rounds so clearly they are developing something , or maybe that just went watch . but a factory team is coming and a new bike is coming that’s for sure
Geez dude, they didn’t kill JGR factory team just to start a new one. Also a couple dudes watching a race means just that.
aj, where’d you get your go pro mount in your chin guard / what’s it called?
please let me know thank you sir
What camera / lense are you using for the fpv footage?
Let’s kick it!!!
i got a 2016 drz 125 for 1500 just wanted something bigger than a 110 to play with lol. but for racebikes id rather spend the 12k CDN on something a few years older. for a fraction of the price. our suzuki and yamaha dealer here (same place) have a 23 rmz 450 for 12.5k and a 22 monster energy for 8k, 2017 yz450f for 7k. take those anyday
AJ we need a win man !!
Its a very good solid bike, i dont race but its plenty of power, no battery means less maintenance, its a sweet bike.
Keep doing good honest reviews there’s not many out there it was entertaining
Suzuki makes a great bike. Cant loose for the price either.
what is those camera settings they look so beutefull!
Aj i know youve gone to Bogie Bros track but why not a real track in VT /NH like Dirt side or Ryder Hill ? I would say The Dirt Side track is the best one out of them but there is a lot of people there every weekend and the kids would absolutely love it!...Team Green ALWAYS!
If you were a heavy guy or really like guy who had to get your suspension done anyway, this bike could be a good pick that and some mapping
Where the fuck did he get a 23 for 5300. I’ll go get 2 of them.
Pennsylvania
Hell you could make yourself a pretty decent race bike and still pay less than you would for a stock Honda or Yamaha. I actually feel like that would be pretty fun to see what you end up with.
Check Lottworx no battery and a light is pretty cool guys love mine
Dude you looked good on it, and yiu were throwing shapes! I’m surprised you scored it so low
Must’ve woke up on the wrong side of the bed
Good stuff
Kenny G has the KYB suspension for his bike which is stock for the 250 models, so I wonder if Suzukis would be more mint if they reverted back to KYB suspension instead.
Rm army I love my rmz450
Where did you pick up the bike for $5300 out the door?. I live in Jacksonville fl. They are claiming 8500 otd
Makes a great "woods" bike too.
Fun, and will climb any hill that you can hold on for! Incredible fire road slider!
Leave your BMW GS1250 at home.
And Suzukis are as reliable as anvils!
Come on Suzuki - make an enduro version with bigger gas tank - like those PE400 ring dings you made back in the day!😃
Lmao!
I have a 2018 Suzuki RMZ250 and it’s been a great all around bike for me.
The 2023 RMZ250 and RMZ450 look great!
I would never buy a four stroke motorcycle for the motocross machine it just does not give me the hard on that I had when they were around
I've got a 2018 with 110 hrs and the crank went bad...that's right, top end and everything else is fine. Bike was full of oil aswell. Oil was changed 2 rides prior and screen was cleaned.
@@KrustyQuad 👊🏻
@herdfreak2 yea sucks man....not sure what the hell went wrong.... trying decide on which crank to get
people really love to hate on suzuki these past couple of years, bikes ride great, they corner great, and are cheaper then the rest of the bikes on the market, they are great bikes.
where did he get it?
Where was it purchased for that price of 5300 otd.
everyone says it is heavy, so what is the dry weight? it should be lighter since no electric start.
OTD for 5300!? Where?! I want one.
But but but but you had to kick start it...
The engine sounded like more than enough power onboard you could tell you we're using much
Where did he get it for 5300? I need one for that price.
Just curious if the one lap challenge considers a vet rider not going as fast might not blow their hand off the bar?
Yes and they are very reliable bike
In all honesty no matter what bike you get you are going to get aftermarket suspension for to suit your riding style and weight.. for me I'd buy the Suzuki for its frame and engine and spend the money I saved on suspension and exhaust and still come out ahead
I second that!!!
Someone gets it
What sucks is I went into a local shop yesterday and asked if they had any RMZ’s available… got told they won’t order any unless they come with electric start.. cash in hand but they wouldn’t even order it?!?
That is a crapy dealer. They are out there you just got to dig a lil!
$5,300 out the door seemed surpringly low to me. Wow. I knew they were discounted compared to the competition, but I had no idea the discount was that much. Dang.
Looks like Tampa mx. What’s dealer did he get one for 5300 OTD. I might get one. Can you tell me which deal please?
Suzuki besttt 😍
Very nice bike
Beast of a machine
Can you find a 2023 ktm 300sx and rate it?
Come to Idaho!
Hey, he never swapped the pipes with the new yoshi’s that come with the bike lol. Plus yeah the bike is so cheap new they leave u all the room plus more u need to make your own custom tweaks to it and still come out spending less than the rest. It may not b the best bike out of the bunch but they r still good bikes. I don’t own one but we all know every bike out these days is ridiculously good. It’s not hurting Kenny’s season either. U should see if Kenny or Kyle will let u test their bikes haha
Its well worth the price! $9k msrp is not cheap.
Looked damn good last night in indie.
AJ you know I Roll the RM... great bikes DOC.
I love his review of the bike, yes it’s not the best bike in all categories… i hear of so many people hate on the suspension, the power and other things saying how outdated it is, yet haven’t been on the bike yet… They all say no serious racer would use this bike, I’d say more people should because why go buy some Honda, Yamaha or KTM that costs many thousands more, just to rip off the stock suspension, mod the engine and do tons of other modifications/custom adjustments to the bikes? Anyone who’s fast enough won’t keep even a Yamaha all stock. They would spend the 11k on one, redo all the suspension, toss high compression piston, redo other parts of the engine, modify the frame and make it mostly an aftermarket bike anyway…. Might aswell buy the Suzuki, save money and toss all the aftermarket suspension on and do motor mods like the rest of people do
Can the Suzuki hang with the other bikes in a 300 yard straightaway?! That’s the question for me. If it can stay inside of 1 or 1.5 bike lengths then it makes sense.
that is a tough test to do accurately as the fastest rider will nearly always be ahead, no matter the bike. its just bike math. yes even in a straight line.
What happened to all the other videos??
Where you finding a '23 at $5300 brand new??
THEM FORKS
What's the first thing they say to do with ALL new bikes, get your suspension done for your weight and speed, so that's not a unique thing for the Suzuki. So what you have picked out generally applies to all bikes.
Waste of time and money Brett! Your average guy would not notice any difference! Just ride!
Where can I get one at 5300?
Красавчик 👍💪
they look sick
Where are you getting these for around 6 out the door? Kinda unheard of on the east coast...
I know right. The base MSRP from Suzuki is $8,999.
Local dealer near me has 2024 kx450s going $6950 out the door.
u look pretty comfy on yellow 😅
RM Army!!!
what do the privateer 450 riders typically ride? look at the lcq there are a ton of kx450s on the line.
That's because kawasaki provides more financial and part support than any other manufacturer if you ride their bike as a privateer.
Privateers pick whichever bike has best OEM contingency payout.
Holy crap….. $5300 for a 2023???? Shit I should have drove out there and saved money. Dealers all over the Midwest, here in ILLINOIS. Lowest was $6499 for a 2022 RMZ, but OTD was almost 8k after fees, shipping charges, and taxes.
I heard Suzuki recommended a few clicks stiffer and a little more sag but it's rated for 187lbs stock. Do you think it would be okay if you were in that target range or does it just suck either way?
sounds like you would have to be rather light for it to be ok. having the suspension done on almost everything is just smart. you gain so much. even more if its tuned multiple times to better match your needs.
It's not spring rate, it's in the valving causing to blow through...that's why clickers won't keep it from blowing right through the stroke.
@@yamahakid450f all true.
So OTD a good woods bike?
I’d say a Rmx is a good woods bike, pretty hard to find though
I can't wrap my head around how you manage to get a new one for 5300usd. I'd buy one instantly for that price. Over here they cost around 9000usd, that's why nobody rides Suzuki anymore, they are just a little bit cheaper compared to the other brands. Can't even buy a pipe for the difference in price.
Here in Chicago I see them around $6400 so to hear that he got one for literally $1000 cheaper out the door is insane.. makes me somewhat want one since you’d have all the freed up money to mod this thing into a race ready bike. Just my opinion.
I don't know how he got that crazy deal, but I bought mine last year for 7k out the door. That was during the height of summer too.
The $5,300 OTD price is either click bait or he got a crazy good deal from or because of someone he knows. They are advertised near me for $5,999 and the OTD price is $9098, that’s more than half the price of the bike added back on top in fees.
They’re $6400 out the door here in Illinois. Knowing that you can maybe get it way under that price is making me want to go back to the dealer and see what’s up lmfao.
@@OleMisss what dealership??
AJ get over to the UK 👌
This summer! ☺️
If they add push button start they can literally charge 2x the price...
I heard Roczen was on a 2007 model rmz.i may be wrong. ...
You definitely heard wrong, anyone who says the bike hasn’t changed since 2007 is full of crap
Albertttttt!! 🤟🏻
WHERE are you getting these for 5300? My wallet is ready
Sticker $8k its not cheap enough vs CRF/KX/YZ to buy this instead
RMs are beautiful bikes, for whatever that’s worth.
