I love this bike too. I got a year end 2022 model a month ago.. I’m an old veteran Pro/ProAm level atv racer that also trained on dirtbikes from a young age and am maybe top C class mid level B class on a good day. I was all Kawasaki for dirtbikes since 2004, most recent was a 2015 kx450 and even with riding that KX450 for an entire year, first day on this RMZ450 was unexplained, I felt that comfortability right away as said in the video. Ofcourse coming from atvs I don’t notice the 250lb bike at all. But just happy and comfortable I was riding it, never felt that way in a bike. Very trusting on it and it gives you some confidence vs the Kawasaki I had. I haven’t touched one thing on the bike except for Thumb Throttle
but at 6ft4 and 210-215 lbs with gear it sure is a great handling bike off the floor
. And for those who like to rag on the lowest peak HP of this bike
. Y’all would get spanked by kids on 125’s and 250fs most likely
in racing it’s all about setup and cornering speed
you can’t use high HP in corners, and so peak HP is just a number that very few riders will ever use properly

I bought a 1 hour 2018 RMZ 450 this summer. I have a 2018 250 sxf big bore with KYB internals also. It's interesting to ride them back to back. Obviously the KTM gives up torque and hp to the Suzuki. But I have to say that the rich (aggressive) map coupler sort of feels similar in the power band (my KTM Sxf 270 did dyno at 52 hp). Meaning the Zook comes on really soft w this map and doesn't really pick up. With the lean map the Zook hits a lot harder right off the bottom and pulls harder all the way through the powerband . I prefer the lean map for very jumpy and tight tracks vs. the rich map. The stock map (no coupler attached) doesn't really feel much different than the rich coupler.
The Zook chassis is very stiff and I have had both ends revalved by RG3 for a vet intermediate/expert level. I have loosened the frame hanger bolts and even removed one of the bolts on the top hangers to get some more flex and this helped. The KTM is much much more supple and controllable everywhere. I credit the steel frame and weight for this. And while the Zook does feel slim and controllable, the weight is noticeable after switching between them, especially in the air.
If you are considering the Zook and can get one for less than MSRP, do it. Putting a thousand bucks into the bike can make it really good. The bike kicks over easily, but the kick starter is way up there, and I am 6'2. Other mods I am considering to the bike are pipe/silencer to shed some weight, possibly an ecu and I would like to try some aftermarket engine hangers and see if they make a difference. I will also put in a high compression piston when it comes time for a rebuild. The clutch is holding up well for me ( I did put in 3 stiff springs), as I mostly ride this bike hitting free ride jumps/ramps vs. track and so don't use the clutch a whole lot.

@@stevemx2778 good deal! The bike feels slimmer and lighter that others. The air filter they do little tweaks every year to make air flow better. I haven’t had any problems out of mine or anything of that nature. The back shock..I hear a ton of people complaining about it, but just like in the video, I only set the sag. You can add one, it just adds to the weight. I'm old like you, 51, I hope to be riding at 65...keep on keepin' on my friend! About the weight, it doesn't feel heavy to me, it is lighter than Enduro's. Unless you're a top pro, I believe the weight thing is just part of the technical aspects race machines are subject to. I just purchased my 1st 4 Stroke & 1st Suzuki, 22 RM-Z450. I've always owned Yamaha & Honda. 1st being a 78 YZ80 then the 82 YZ80J, wish I had kept that one.
