- hi i spend a lot of time making these small films of when the days were a lot different. most of the photos are from old books or old post cards. i love doing this to show you how life was way back then. some people can not buy books or find things to do with local history so this is why i have done this for all of you.
i do not do this to make money in any way, it is just for free so i do hope you all like the small films i do as it takes a long time to do. i did use to live in SW London but now moved to bucks where i find this is much better for me and my family.
all the best --- Jason Blackman. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Before it became... "enriched"
Thank you for these pictures. My family lived in and around High Wycombe for many generations. I grew up there and remember sailing boats on the pool on the edge of the Rye recreation ground. I loved going to the playground with the large slide and the plank swing. Those days you could really hurt yourself if you did not respect the equipment. Great times.
Love this little film. I was born in High Wycombe and I still love the place. It's people that don't even like the place that bring it down. I still live in the area and don't think I will ever leave. People in the past seemed to care more about the place and I think that can be restored. Well at least I hope so.
So much better then. Wonderful film - Thanks.
As an ex - native of HW I found this video very nostalgic.
My favourite is at 2.26 of the kids in the water by the swings .... i can remember i was there as a 5 year old in that same place with my dad scaring me with a leaf saying it was a fish ....
It looks so much nicer back then
Brought back some distant memories. I wonder if town planners are cognisant of our cultural heritage when the seek to constantly modernise places with buildings that seem to be built and then torn down on a roughly, 50 year cycle.
High Wycombe looked so much better back then than it does now... Well, for me anyway.
+The Big K
Yes the townscape has been attacked , vandalised and treated with contempt by stupid , thoughtless malicious gangs of fly-by-night politicians and their oh-so-obedient servants/ officials/lickspittles. What a crying shame. This is what happens when ordinary folk are looked on with disdain and totally ignored. THE powers that be should hang their heads - and they are still at it. Never trust them = a mixture of crooks villains , liars and assorted self-seeking idiots
Lovely film, Jason. Thank you.
Thanks chap Memories all I have
i live near High Wycome and Its very cool to see haow Its changed alot!
Moving film… it does seem worlds away from our current world
makes me think of the old buses ware are they
