- Freddy does a review for the Harbor Freight Daytona 1.5 Ton Aluminum Jack. Its a very small and light weight floor jack, is it worth the money or even worth having? Freddy thinks it would be great for auto cross or one car garage use.

I have a 1997 lowered miata and this is just absolutely awesome for me. And it’s serviceable.
Bought one today for my golf cart and zero turns. Also bought it because of it's light weight. I'm 50 now and anything I can do to make things easier on me now and in the future helps. Thanks for the review!
You're welcome!!
Excellent concise review. Appreciate the magnet test, so it's really a hybrid constructed jack as some companies like Arcan advertise when a combo of aluminum and steel. I was eyeing this jack didn't realize it's been out for awhile. Was thinking of getting it to keep in the trunk/lift-gate for emergencies. Unfortunately used my HF 25% off anything coupon on a cheaper set of wrenches this holiday season, didn't think I needed anything more costly.
I think I’m getting this one for home garage! Thank you for the video! 👍🏻👍🏻
You're welcome!
I got the "low profile long reach" version... Worth it!!! I got a lowered (not super stanced low, but functional for tracking) 2004 Lexus IS300 and no issue with hitting the car.
Niceeee
Great review, thank you. This convinced me to get a similar jack, a 1.5T TEQ Correct aluminum from AAP. I love how easy it is to carry around, and it lifts my minivan just fine, especially with a block on the pad. I'm really liking having a light jack. One thing I don't like is that when I release it, it's not gradual at all, it just drops the car like a hot potato. Is the Daytona the same way? I was going to buy the Daytona but it would have been further to drive and the TEQ one was a little cheaper. I am wondering if I made the eight choice.
Hello again Poor Man Mods
Thank you for another Great Video. Great review!!! Again thank you
thank you!!
Great Review Man.
Very Informative.
Yes, is Good to Throw Back of the Trunk and use to Change Flat Tires..
I.was SHOCKED it Lifter that Tahoe..
thank you! it impressed me too! i wouldnt use it regularly to life a tahoe, id feel comfortable with my larger daytona jack, but it just goes to show how strong it is!
Appreciate this video was looking for a jack soon too
youre welcome
Thank you for the nice and well explained video about the daytona 1.5 jack !!! It actually helped me a lot when I was not sure about buying this one, but thanks to your video, I decided it was powerful enough and also handy and lightweight to carry around, plus the green and black body look so sleek! (can’t deny it factored in ) I lifted my car well enough to change oil on my own and once again thank you for the video!
Thanks! Glad I could help!
I just got this mainly because of it being light weight and lifts my full size sedan. It is very easy to pick up and store.
Yes absolutely
I have the older model of this jack. It’s perfect for throwing in the back of my VW GTI for track days. I swap my street wheels out for my track wheels at the track.
yesss thats exactly what its great at

Perfect trunk jack. Thanks for the review
You're welcome
Would be great as a secondary jack. I live in an apartment and hate having to bring out my 3 ton jack constantly. I have a challenger , Chrysler 300 and a Corolla . Over kill for my Corolla which is my daily and constantly working on it. Oil changes , tire rotation. And that little 1.5 would be great as a secondary jack
Yup! I find myself using it more often that initially expected
All those cars and you live in an apartment 💀
@@D_Rami69 yes Im 25 and live on my own, not my parents home. I’ve been independent since 18 yet your comment is just worthless and irrelevant. Get a life bum.
@@D_Rami69 lmao
It is perfect for your cars. I lift a lot of cars with this .
nice video buddy keep them coming.
Thank you!
Cool. Just picked up one for my 2006 Matrix. I'm moving up from the scissor jack (which ain't too bad with a 22mm and a drill on low).
Sweeet
I live in a apartment almost bought this today. Not sure if it will do well with my bmw coupe. Definitely don’t want to spend too much on something I’ll probably use twice a year
I used a aluminum HF jack to lift an explorer a few years ago... the floor jack bent and was no longer usable. It's great but that was definitely abuse lol
loll
@@PoorManMods I got Lexus gx470 you think this will do the job or get 2 ton ?
Like the fact that it's lightweight compact so I'll team it up with a spacer to get more height and all it has to do is lift up one corner of the truck to change a tire.
Exactly. 1/4 of a 5000lb truck is well within the specs for this jack.
Can you set up a Steel Floor Jack Cross Beam on this jack?
the screw for the oil fill is nice ,
I've got a 99 C5 Corvette. Not much fits under it. Garages with ramps on their lifts won't work. That's just the way they were built. Being only 3200 pounds, this would work for me. Great video.
Looks like a good jack for lowered econoboxes 16-20 inch extension would have been perfect.
Hey i have a question for yah...i have a 06 gs430 im having hard downshifting from 2nd to 1st gear...no check engine light...i got a solenoid b performance code a couple of times...but other than that i havent had a trouble code...ive done a lil research on it and clublexus forums are stating its the ECU needing to be flashed and reprogrammed. What would you recommend...do you offer flashing ECU repair....
sorry i dont know much about the 430 or automatics
I have the Pittsburg version, actually two of them now. It has one potential fatal flaw that you should check and that's where the two arms attach to the ram. I did an annoyingly long/rambly video on it if you want to kill about 10 minutes of your life, but the short story is that the geometry of those arms isn't right and they'll try to force the snap rings off. I've seen a few reports of people having their cars suddenly fall as they were raising or lowering it. One of mine was close to failing when I discovered the problem, the other appears to put no pressure against the rings, but it's had much less use so that might change. Since their manufacturing tolerances are willy-nilly, some have the problem and some don't.
I just bought the all-aluminum 1.5 ton Daytona jack that has a shorter min height and a slightly greater max height. I got it for my sports car that is very low to the ground.
Trying to see what size I should get because I drive a little corolla that is very low to the ground. This seems great to be able to lug around
This will likely do you well
No lie...very surprised it lifted a Tahoe. This is just what I need and more than enough for my wife's Honda CV-R. Nice replacement over those scissor jack for flat tires.
Yup agreed!
Is this Jack good enough to use with Jack stands? I had a big old mechanic Jack that could lift my car front end whole and I would slip the Jack stands. Would it be wise to slip a Jack stand one at a time? Any info helps. Thanks
You should ALWAYS use jack stands. Never trust the jack.
I just bought one today for $109 minus 10% & got it for only $99 bucks.
Love it.
From where?
@@obe1canobe146 Harbor Freight!
@@shanedawson-xt3wt ok, the same one we have in nc is running $137 at Harbor Frieght
Really like mine which was anodized blue. Only thing I suggest is removing the allen head bolts and applying locktite to the threads b4 reassembling. The Allen bolts loosen over time. Unfortunately my son took it so i need to buy another one.
good tip!
Where’d you get it in blue?
Great review! Is it necessary to bleed the jack before use?
Thanks! The instructions say to bleed it
Has anyone tried lifting the front end of a car yet? Or is it risky. I bought this Jack because the last one was handed down finally broke down.
Do you think it be good for a 03 jeep grand cheerokee? I've been using the 2.5 ton trolley jack and it lifts it but maneuvering it and pumping it is a nightmare
I'm sure it would do just fine if you jack up one corner at a time
Does it jack up high enough to get under a sedan with enough room to spare?
My old Harbor Freight jack barley lifts high enough to place my jack stands. Its a tight fit for me to get under my car.
Just tried lifting a 2013 Prius. It doesn’t lift high enough to get jack stands in place.
Great review, you’ve helped me make my decision. For the same price I think I’ll just go with a 2 ton low pro steel Pittsburgh instead.
Awesome!!
nice to have for flat tires better then the jack that comes with the car,
Yupppp
Definitely I had to change a tire recently with that cheap little jack that comes with the car. Standing in the blowing snow taking forever to jack high enough lol
Perfect for ATA type veicles
If you have a small vehicle and you change you own oil, breaks, rotate tires etc. I think it's perfect.
Yup!!
U think it will be good I have a 2015 civic si I only need it for tires changing if ones goes out
@@erick300k absolutely
@@erick300k Yes I do. I own a 2010 Honda Crosstour which is probably heavier than a Civic. 3 pumps and my car is in the air. I changed my oil recently and roteted my tires and jack worked perfect.
I think that's a good one to keep in my car.
Yess
I have one of these, and I live in a row house in the city. Lightweight is the main reason I bought it to lift up a CAR, not a giant Tahoe. That's not what it was meant for. That's like testing a minivan for 0-60 times, not what it was built for.
why do they make refilling the fack oil so hard to access. I always end up spilling half the oil on the jack and on he ground.
Would’ve liked to have seen you lift the front where most of the weight is
hi! why do you need to bleed it? is jt not ready to go?
the manual recommends to
Side note, what was that electric screwdriver you were using? I totally want one lol
unfortunately that exact one i think was discontinued, it was a craftsman one and i LOVE it, this one is similar amzn.to/3zzsMhq
They have an all aluminum model out now.
It looks just like the the aluminum 1.5 ton Pittsburgh jack I picked up about five years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I like mine, but looks like it’s basically a rebrand.
Maybe just a color difference?
Is it worth buying this over a 2 ton trolley jack?
i think so
i have a mini and an MG... PERFECT JACK
Yesss
I believe all hydraulic jacks are great even those trolley jacks anybody that doesn't want their Jacks let me know I'll pay the shipping and handling I'll take it off your hands
Thank you so much for this video متشکرم

So you have to bleed it?

AFTER UNBOXING, BE SURE TO TAKE OUT THAT LITTLE BLACK, PLASTIC PIECE OR YOU'LL BEND THE TIE ROD. MOVE THE HANDLE DOWNWARD TO RELEASE IT.
*"WORH* IT OR NOT?" Worh?🤔
I personally have grown to love and appreciate it, so I think it's worth it
