If you were low on refrigerant (and and a half cans) there is no way that the A/C compressor would have engaged. They have pressure switches built in to prevent them from running if there isn't enough refrigerant. I had to bypass this switch to engage the A/C compressor, so it can pull the refrigerant in from the can.

There was pressure prior to the A/C compressor turning on and then the pressure on the low side would dip very quickly. There may have been enough pressure to start and then shut off. Either way the AC was not getting cool and after adding the refrigerant it was freezing cold and in the correct pressure range.

0:16 What does you being the proud owner of toucans have anything to do with vehicle AC refrigeration?

The subtitles are autogenerated so "2 cans" became "toucans" is my thought.
